Seriously what kind of information do you have that makes you believe it will be a bad major you know nothing! I myself didn't like the Brazilian influence on the scene but I don't have a reason to dislike the location of the next major, if anything I think the crowd will be sick considering how popular gaming has gotten in Brazil, anyways people will always hate on new things.

I'm from Rio and I think that's not the best choice to hold an e-sports event, although we had here last month Game XP, from the same organizers from Comic Con Experience, and in some days the event sold out. I don't know, for sure São Paulo would be the best choice the scene there is much bigger, but, I don't know, maybe it work

Yes it's great for tourism and for the emiratis, but if you're not a native and you work there, it can be a nightmare. It's easy to build a ''luxurious'' city off the back of slavery and without taking any basic human rights into consideration.

Yeah, there was definitely a cultural clash when the Brazilians got into the scene, but they guys have played for new orgs now and have calmed down a bit. But I do think that it's that aggressive in-your-face attitude that is being displayed - also by many fans - that really is disliked by many from US ans Europe.

rio is the most overhyped state in brazil, it is garbage to live in but still everyone from outside brazil thinks about it when someone says brazil. there were a lot of better options, which are better and safer than rio, for example, alianz parque in sao paulo, or somewhere in the south

Statistically speaking. Sure. But if you took literally Chicago, Detroit, DC, LA and Miami out of the US it’d be ranked like 3rd-4th safest place in the world. i mean, it'd be better if it was in Brasilia, Curitiba or Sao Paulo. 3 major cities, much safer, and with better structure too receive the players.
Rio is amazing, people are awesome and kind, but the violence issue is just beyond any reasonable argument. The city has murder rates that equals countries in civil war, and there's no easy solution.
Curitiba was in the list of the 50 most violent cities in the world a while ago. Brazil had 21 cities in that list with Natal and Fortaleza being the most violent cities in the country for years now. Natal was ranked as the 4th most violent city in the world with a murder rate above 102.0. In comparison, Rio's murder rate is around 35, with Curitiba having 38.09 a while ago. Natal is still the most violent citiy in Brazil and actually listed ranked the 8th most violent in the world with a murder rate of 75. I don't know why people shit on Rio so much.
But it's a different kind of violence. I don't know if i can explain to u well enough. In Curitiba and in most of the major centers, violence is concentrated in specific zones of the city, where factions are fighting against each other. In Rio, the violence is widespread, and altough the favelas are indeed more dangerous, the touristic zone of Rio is also a very well known crime focused place. But i don't think that the violence itself is a valid reason for Rio not holding the major. I mean, Rio receives bussinessmen from all around the globe, it's still an economic center of the world. But people seem to think that the only thing going on on Rio is violence.

I don't think so, but that's not the point. The city is way easier and cheaper to get from anywhere in Brazil (I'd be traveling by plane to either city). Sao Paulo also's got the best public transport in the nation (during weekends), and the most hotel rooms of any city. It's a far cry from Rio, which has less frequent and more expensive flights, expensive hotels (too many tourists), abysmal public transportation, (I only get uber there) and it is a more dangerous city.
