But it's a different kind of violence. I don't know if i can explain to u well enough. In Curitiba and in most of the major centers, violence is concentrated in specific zones of the city, where factions are fighting against each other. In Rio, the violence is widespread, and altough the favelas are indeed more dangerous, the touristic zone of Rio is also a very well known crime focused place. But i don't think that the violence itself is a valid reason for Rio not holding the major. I mean, Rio receives bussinessmen from all around the globe, it's still an economic center of the world. But people seem to think that the only thing going on on Rio is violence.
