"Nasa believes there is a one in 3,800 odds the asteroid will hit Earth on the expected date of May 6, 2022. That translates into a 0.026% chance of an and a greater than 99% chance it will miss Earth."
2019-11-21 00:10
even if it were to hit earth - which, as someone alredy said - is almost impossible, it would be devastating, but nowhere near enough to destroy humanity. they say its power would be equivalent to 230 kT of TNT. that would be more than the nukes used in hiroshima or nagasaki, but much weaker than some of the nukes we have today. the biggest nuke ever detonated had the power of 50 million tons of TNT

i doubt we'll see a new conventional war in our life time it's one thing to have a traditional military and combat countries/militias/terrorist groups that don't have the financial ability to develop/maintain a modern air force or navy. Vietnam taught us the extreme importance of air power, but also taught people how to get around it. modern battlefields involve laser/GPS guided munitions for strategic bombing and air support. with today's air force and navy technology, how can an army or marine combat unit sustain operations on the battlefield? i simply don't see how (2) traditional military forces could combat each other without sustaining unreasonable losses.... how would a country like China or Russia invade the US or vice versa? how could a proxy war not eventually involve larger nations with substantial military forces? i just don't think it's practical today....

2019-11-19 18:45
various conflicts, uprisings, revolutions, etc. have occurred in that general area since the collapse of the Soviet Union. do you honestly think NATO will get involved? who from NATO would stand up against it and actually send assistance (other than $$)? where would it all end? would there be an all-out war against Russia? how could that be sustained, and by whom? does the UN really have power to stop what's going on?

2019-11-19 18:48
i am absolutely interested in what you have to say and what you think is dumb
2019-11-19 18:48
okay men im finally here)))) The problem you jump from proxy wars fought in desert mountains to war between China and US + allies. US has currently the biggest power projection in the world based on the navy and airforce you mention, but both of those have two cornerstones. FIrst there are the carrier fleets, which are self sustaining strike forces. The problem with them its virtualy impossible to defend them from massed ballistic missle, air to water and water to water missle attacks. China, Russia and even potentially Iran can overwhelm the defensive nets by sheer mass of fired missles, negating any power projection the fleets have. Second arm of the power projection is the naval and airbases everywhere in the world which hosts US forces acting both as strike forces and guards for those bases. Again in case of war you have troops from both sides fighting for these objectives, because either you have to take them on the ground or obliterate them with long range weapons while the whole air is contested. In order to achieve air superiority for anyone the defensive ground troops will be involved 100%, you cannot avoid it. The biggest problem with the bases and to lesser degree to carrier fleets that they are immobile, they can be countered by fast missle friggates, ground based missle systems ect. all which are only voulnarable to air force, but as I said the US rivals also have competent airforce plus spent the last few decades improving their anti air capabilities. Nobody in the US wants to see the S400 in action. You also mentioned gps and other tracking technologies, no wonder both china and russia has demostrated they have the option to kill satelities. All of these issues I mentioned are conventional war with huge losses of material and life while still not escalating to huge ground invasions of mainlands and the risk of nuclear strikes. We could get to these levels of conflict very fast, when the US power projection is violently contested, from any deeper conflict between China and Taiwan, Persian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Russian attack on the Baltics or even from US blockade in the South China Sea, US intervention in direct Chineses/Russian sphere of influence ect. or just simple misscalculation between allies of bigger powers dragging everyone with them.

2019-11-19 19:09
depends on who's involved but if possible we mostly won't even participate (we were forced to during ww2 because we were still a British colony and just became independent 2 years after.) During the cold war, India adopted a policy of not aligning itself with any major power bloc.

Highly unlikely. Nuclear war, maybe. But another WW will never happen again. America has control of land, air and sea. It’s impossible to put enemy boots on the ground here. So let’s say Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China and North Korea wanted to go to war with us. Okay? We rule the ocean so they can’t attack by sea. We rule the air with the most advanced air craft and vast amounts of them and we have more strategic military bases all around the world. What would be the plan of action? There isn’t. They would lose on every front. There’s no gain of land, money, resources etc that would be worth a nuclear fucking wasteland. Because that’s their only option of even possibly winning. Obviously we don’t have a lot of history buffs here but the Cold War showed us one thing. That a world with nukes means a world at a standstill. Sure there will still be wars and skirmishes here and there. But nothing like a World War again. Ever.
2019-11-19 19:12

You don't understand the magnitude of US's dominance when it comes to military power. We have 19 air craft carriers compared to Russia's 1 and China's 1 (they may have 2 now) idk last time I checked the rest of the world had 12 altogether. Our Navy and Air Force is far superior to the Russia and China, and hell, everyone else. We have over 800 active military bases world wide. How would China decide shit? What? Man power? That means literally nothing if they can't get boots on the ground, which they wouldn't be able to do. Also we have military bases damn near surrounding China. Russia is vast, and huge, and again, surrounded by enemy and American military bases. You don't understand how absolutely gigantic the United States Army is and why our military budget is more than most countries GDP. Russia and China know this, so political and cyber warfare is their only means to get a leg up on the US. But China is to be soon facing it's own economic bubble popping and their slowing birth rates are absolutely going to destroy China and they are worried about their own country. Russia on the other hand is ruled by Putin who knows that any war conflict wit the US would ultimately lead to the demise of his country and possibly the world. Again, there would be no war. Only nukes because China and Russia would stand no fucking chance.
2019-11-21 03:57
i think proxy wars around the world is a way more profitable way for the lobbys than a world war. and they already kinda got waht they wanted since ww1 a central bank controlled system all over the world.

what are the presidential laws in Russia? how much longer can Putin stay in office?
2019-11-19 19:37
It's too hard for me to explain it correctly in English so you better read it here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Ru.. the most important thing is "While the original constitution stipulated a four-year term and a maximum of two terms in succession, the current constitution decrees a six-year term. The four-year term was in effect while Vladimir Putin served his first and second terms; with the two-term limit, he was barred from the presidency in 2008. Instead, he served as Prime Minister while Dmitry Medvedev served as president for four years. Putin was re-elected to his third term in 2012; with the six-year term, he was elected to his fourth term in 2018. Article 81 specifies the method of election, including a secret ballot; Articles 82 - 93 detail powers, responsibilities, and limitations of the presidency. The constitution provides for a 'strong presidency'; not only is the president the "Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation"[6], the president also has the power to dissolve the State Duma.[7]" It means that Putin changed the constitution so that he can be re-elected for the third time. Before that the constitution said "One and the same person may not be elected President of the Russian Federation for more than two terms " and he added only ONE WORD so it would allow this fucker to rule Russia till he dies, and now it says "One and the same person may not be elected President of the Russian Federation for more than two terms running". The word "running" allows him to serve to serve 6 years, and then replace himself with his puppet, to then be elected again, as he already did with replacing himself with Medvedev. Funny stuff, isn't it? :)
2019-11-19 19:46
dude that's crazy..... i remember hearing about him changing something in the Russian constitution, but i honestly was too young to really think anything about it that is incredibly dangerous imo... how does the Russian public view this? what do you think?
2019-11-19 20:03
Ofc it's crazy, not only crazy, but it also violates human rights and even international rights since this change affects the whole world. It also is quite cynical move since it was made without any shame and the intentions behind it weren't even tried to be hidden. The amount of Russians who understand this whole situation and don't like it, only grows with time
2019-11-19 20:06
percentage-wise, how many Russians would you say support barring another term for Putin?

Nothing major until 2022 (presidential elections), people are getting more and more tired of the immigration issue, the muslim population growing and speaking up more and more on "islamophobia". Most french people had enough of this but arent doing anything because its not "politically correct" to say anything against that and you get classified as racist for anything nowadays and our current president isnt really doing anything about that because he is a Rothschild baby and only think about how he is gonna scrap the most votes possible for the next elections. On top of what we had for a long time, unemployement, retired people and lwo class workers treated unfairly. Next elections are most likely gonna be Macron(current president) vs Lepen(far right), if Macron gets elected again, its gonna be chaos for sure, Lepen could be a good surprise, or not, as much as i like her immigration policy, i dont know if she is as competent in other departements. Either way, the best days of France are behind us.
2019-11-19 20:59
how big do you think this immigration/islamophobia group is and what do you personally think about it? how much have you noticed it and how much impact do you think it has on society? we have the hispanic immigration here in the US, but it's nowhere near what's going on in Europe. so many hispanic american families have been here for generations, they integrate well into our society, and i feel like society is generally fine with how things are going (except for the criminals and drug-related activity of course)

Im not gonna give my opinion because cya in 10, i think you get it. Islamophobia is growing every day i would say, with the terror attacks, the muslims taking more and more freedom to impose their religon (26% of muslims in France think that the sharia law should be above the republic's law, thats scary). Right now a debate is going on about if muslim women should be alowed to wear the burka in public, 64% pf french ppl are against that, but the president is turning a blind eye in the name of laicity. Unlike you apparently, too much of them arent integrating well into our society, and most french are getting tired but moral high ground of minorites is a big issue in the world overall. Im just gonna quote a few setences and translate as best as i can what De Gaulle used to say about immigration, for most, the best president we ve ever had in the V th republic (1959-1969): " Those who advocate integration are bums, it's very good that there are yellow French, black French, and black French. They show that France is open to all races and has a universal vocation. But provided they remain a minority otherwise France would no longer be France. We are, above all, a European people of white race, of Greek and Latin culture and of Christian religion. Muslims, did you see them? Did you watch them with their turbans and djellabas? You see that they are not French! " " We pretended to make african people good frenchmen, It's beautiful equality, but it's not within our reach. To want all overseas populations to enjoy the same social rights as metropolitans, of an equal standard of living, would mean that ours would be halved. Who is ready? So since we can not offer them equality, it is better to give them freedom! Bye Bye you are costing us too much. We can integrate individuals, families, small groups, and again, to a certain extent only, and it takes generations. We do not integrate peoples, with their past, their traditions, their common memories of won or lost battles, their heroes. We can not hold this prolific population like rabbits and these enormous territories at arm's length. "

I really appreciate you sharing and translating those words from De Gaulle. "They show that France is open to all races and has a universal vocation. But provided they remain a minority otherwise France would no longer be France." As an American with a very short national history, i completely agree with this statement. We see a LOT of threads about integration in Sweden, Germany, France, etc. and one thing usually comes to mind: European countries have very long, rich histories that span centuries (or even millennia). The buildings and architecture, family lineages, common cultures, social and political history, languages, etc. all scream national history and heritage. I agree that being open to all races is very important, but it's far more important to uphold, cherish, and preserve the values and historical significance which produce that mental image of what countries like Sweden, Germany, France, etc. truly are and represent. European countries have a long (and arguably barbaric and imperialist) history of colonies throughout the world. In my opinion, integrating people from former colonies isn't a bad thing.... after all your nation helped create who those people are today. But also agree once again with "individuals, families, and small groups" rather than "peoples with their past, their traditions, their common memories of won or lost battles." I feel like that's a perfect way to put it.

future wars that will happen will be proxy wars . Nuclear countries wont risk their mutual obliteration. They will push or neutralise enemies geopolitical interests through proxy countries.
2019-11-19 20:01
yes, i hope it happens asap
2019-11-19 20:02
It has already begun. American Zionists are scared of China, trade wars, Hong Kong are tied to it.
2019-11-19 21:12
Probably. If it's not already happening
2019-11-19 21:13
nay, no-one would be stupid enough to attack others, just to get nuked themselves

Yes because we are just speaking monkeys whom have primitive intuition to do stuff like that to feel "powerful"
2019-11-19 21:48
Don't think so. At least not with current top Nations worldwide. Reason is everyone is afraid of nuclear weapons. No sane country would risk get nuked to Oblivion for smallish things

We live in the most peaceful time period ever so I doubt anything will happen anytime soon... Although if war does break out it'll most likely have something to do with Turkey invading the middle-east...

I just hope that when it happens China and Russia gets completely destroyed as they are the prime reasons why there will need to be wars, they just won't change otherwise it seems and are continually threatening the free world.

NAY ! There won't be a WW3. The fools in power are crazy on cocaine, not insane. There is a difference. M.A.D. makes it impossible, so we are good for the next 100+ years. Live your life and have fun!
