do they intentionally play with guns just to make profit off skins? like first cz, tech9, lots of people started to buy skins, then they made them shit then p250, 5-7, ump buff/debuff, m4 buff/debuff, aug, krieg, so on now they reduced price for galil and famas so people will use them more. a lot of these people will think "hey, i dont have a nice skin for these guns, lemme buy some" thoughts?

+1 I'm agreement
2019-11-19 19:36
it makes sense, doesn't it? in a few months they'll buff bison, scout again maybe, then maybe a auto-sniper buff, sell more skins on them... then they'll jump on shotguns
2019-11-19 19:37
yeah but honestly I stopped caring at this point and stopped playing CS aswell, just here to browse some fun threads on hltv (and lose braincells everyday)
2019-11-19 19:38
i play cs only for fun, about 1/2 a day, no skins, only few shit drops. but the problem is that these changes affect the gameplay, which is not their intention, but to make money
2019-11-19 19:41
+1, but i still follow NaVi

thanks mr maple syrup
2019-11-19 19:46
probably apart of the equation but who cars people are still crying about the SG being op
2019-11-19 19:36
that's not the point, they don't care about ppl crying, they care only about money
2019-11-19 19:37
find me a major company that isnt that way lmao
2019-11-19 19:38
it wasn't like this years ago, they started this trend after they killed csgolounge i think
2019-11-19 19:40
Theyre way better about updates then they were back then? CSGO used suck back then, people seem to forget.
2019-11-19 19:49
but cs used to be focused on ak/m4/awp, with the other guns being situational
2019-11-19 19:54
I personally don't think it should be that way. There should be a few equally viably guns dependent on the play style, kind of like the m4/a1.
2019-11-19 19:55
it should be, tbh you should choose the guns in accordance with the map you play, the role you play, but nowadays it's just sg. players are throwing awp/ak for sg's. they should somehow make the gun worse for close combat, because it's good enough for range. let's say increase the time it takes to scope in/out
2019-11-19 19:58
I agree, Hell even if they just made it so you couldn't shoot while scoping in it might fix the problems.
2019-11-19 20:00
this is what i'm saying, small adjusts. maybe even increase reload time, so you consider when spraying, or make spray a bit worse. impair players vision for half a second when you zoom in/out, same like irl, your eyes have to adjust to distances
2019-11-19 20:02
fuck the sg and the aug, these cod-tier guns shouldn't exist in csgo...
2019-11-19 19:47
yes variety is bad
2019-11-19 19:49
lmao, everyone now plays these guns instead of m4 and ak... just have skill-based guns and remove the unnecesary ones.
2019-11-19 19:51
How is the SG not a skill based gun? It's strength is all about the accuracy... if you can't aim youre not any good with it.
2019-11-19 19:52
lmao you can scope with a rifle, just tap or easy spray control, its noob gun, just like aug.
2019-11-19 19:52
If they removed only the scope, people would still use them just as much.
2019-11-19 19:53
noob
2019-11-19 19:54
whatever you say
2019-11-19 19:55
Btw both guns same as 2014 just think it took 5 years for bot pros understand its good gun. I hate those whining pros and silver hltv users WHO really don't know how to play just following Astralis meta and copying it and after they still cant beat them start blame valve for fucking op guns buhuhujuju

I think they try to make game more balanced. Is up to you to buy or not buy the skins. Grow up and don't expect a company to take care of your money
2019-11-19 19:36
i'm old enough, thanks, maybe older than you i was interested in people's opinion about this market strategy. if you don't come up with any valid answers, you're welcome to leave this thread

No they reduced the price and made recoil easier so it gave incentive to buy them over the AUG/SG that were never meant for pro play to begin with.
2019-11-19 19:36
not for pro's, for regular joe. to influence people use certain guns, sell skins for them, then on to the next set

It's smart of them. As long as it doesn't impact the game in a negative way, I think it's just fine.
2019-11-19 19:41
but it does mate. look at the new economy, look at aug/sg, previously we had pistols op, now they touched on galil/famas. most people use to have expensive skins only for ak/m4, they want these people to buy expensive skins for every gun

No, they reduce and lift prices to balance the weapons of the game. Is there some economic benefits to it? Yes, probably. But they're just trying to make players experiment with new weapons
2019-11-19 19:46
but it fucks up second round again, as they done with sg

No because what you're forgetting is that most of these guns were always as good as they were, but other weapons were even more OP so it wasn't until the better weapons were nerfed that we found out these other weapons were also OP. The AUG and SG have been balanced this way since 2013ish it's just that nobody figured out they were so good util the past like year.
2019-11-19 19:46
then how about pistols? ump, galil/famas now?

pistols too, only the cz was added op, all the other ones were already OP, ump was also OP from the beginning, and yes, now they are buffing the famas and galil, but I think it's cuz they never get used and valve has stated that their philosophy is that every gun should be usable and they were never getting used, so they buffed them to make them more viable, we still don't know if they'll be OP or not
2019-11-19 22:49
As far as i remember they played with pistols, especially tech9, then we had the smg's update, they weren't like that from the beginning

no one forces people to buy them
2019-11-19 19:53
but people are still buying them?! and plus, they play with the updates to make these people buy skins, but fucks up the gameplay?!
2019-11-19 19:56
What annoys me most is that they fraud with cases for pro players and streamers to get knives, so that simple people spend more money on them.
2019-11-19 20:00
personally i dont care about skins, dont use them anyways. i dont follow pro's either. but how they play affects the game, the fundamentals and economics of the game

Valve dont care about their games. They havent for years. I thought this was obvious.
2019-11-20 08:30
Perhaps but why care about skins in first place?
2019-11-20 07:02
Who said i care about skins? I got a few random drops which ain't equipped. They fuck up with the game's economy and round balance just for their skin profit

2019-11-20 07:57
but why fuck the game for hardcore fans who've been playing this game for 20 years?
2019-11-23 11:53
Nope because valve dont know what is op or not. They just change things and hope it works. BTW if u cant see how valve makes money u are dumb. I give advice its called 12% from every sold skin.
2019-11-20 08:07
i know money is first for companies, but why get so greedy? it's not healthy for cs ecosystem
2019-11-23 11:54
pros are less than 1% of players. why should they give a flying fuck about them.
