Don't get too hyped for it, set your expectations low Valve had made a Portal VR game that didnt even add to the lore of the Portal series and it was just a short mini adventure that was fun, but as i said it didnt add anything to the Portal series And i feel like the same thing will be for the Half Life vr game Its just going to be Half life themed, thats it Nothing more or nothing less, just a short adventure that wont even continue on the cliffhanger of Half Life 2 Also, Valve didnt really build hype for it. They didnt reveal the game at e3 or made a teaser. They just tweeted "hey, theres a half life vr game comming out", like it isn't even an important project for them I hope im wrong but this is what i think will most likely happen

Nah they’ve been working on this game for many years I doubt it’ll be anything less than breathtaking I actually bought into VR yesterday it’s so much fun, it’s truly the future of gaming

future of gaming? yes but we are still pretty far away from having vr games that have the production quality of big games like rockstar releases for now they are just short games that are fun to play but after like 10 minutes to 2 hours you will get bored playing a single game
2019-11-21 15:43
Well Half Life Alyx will change everything we know about VR gaming

I indeed have low expectations, but I'm not going to buy a VR set just for a game anyway, even half-life. So if they want my money they'll have to release a classic version as well.

Looking forward to not finding need for VR headset. p.s. anyway, now when I take it this way, this game might be more like teaser for upcoming bigger VR half life game. Because the major roadblock is that people just does not have reason to buy the equipment yet.

You can buy a decent headset and controllers(Samsung Odyssey Plus) used for $200 in USA not sure how it is in Latvia tho

Price isn't my main issue, but that it so far is useless for gaming. VR games are a niche, unlimited number of other games to play.

Low expectations is always a good call. However they are deeming it a 'flagship' game. EDIT: It also makes a lot of sense that Valve decided to wait for VR to release a new half-life game. They are investing a lot in VR. It is the future of gaming.

They started to develop their VR and it's obvious that those games won't be top games. I believe they will really make HL3 with VR option (which would be sick) but now their are judt testing the whole technology and try to hype their hardware
