He just told the woman that he thinks Alyx is the key to the whole story and Gordon Freeman is just GMan's pawn that GMan uses to get closer to Alyx...

It makes sense if you played the games, not gonna lie, especially when you consider laidlaws "ending" of episode 3 that he put out after having retired. Gman takes away alyx into statis and leaves gorden to die, In episode 2 Gman chases the pussy over Gorden, in Episode 1 the vorts try to save alyx from dying and Gman from reaching her and Gorden. In ep2 when he gives the speech he also mentioned her being a lot more important to his plan, than his "coworkers" thought before, after he specifically plucked her from BLack MEsa before the events of hl1. (Im a nerd about this im so excited sorry xd)

I've played all the games many times, and I agree Alyx is important, but I don't really understand why she would need to be the key, this isn't some superhero universe with Alyx having some superpowers :D Gordon has proved he is quite a lot more capable at doing stuff than Alyx is.
