So first week on antidepressants(bupropion) has been weird. They said it shouldnt have started working for atleast a week and I wouldnt feel anything big till 4 to 6 weeks. But I have been feeling a change in my mood and in my anxiety, and just my general outlook on things. This has to be placebo imo, but I dont eat much so tht could be a reason for me feeling the effects. If this is how they actually feel this is a pure improvement on my life. I used to be controlled by my anxiety and by my motivation issues. But I dotn really feel any anxiety when I'm on these, I'm more in tune with my positive emotions than I ever have been and it's just been amazing. For context I'm 17 and iv been abandoned and abused alot of my life (mentally physical and sexually) and I'm know just seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist

is good looking for help. But i'll suggest you look some videos about meditation and cleaning garbages stuck in our mind and stuffs.

start reading books from eckhart tolle than videos from bob proctor and others. You believe you have a "personality" the story you tell about yourself, is just the story you tell about yourself, what happened to you is in the past, is gone, is up to you keep telling this story in present. Is kind of hard at first, but if you keep looking for, you will understand better. I took antidepressants "without my will" for 15 days, than i said, nah, i'll fix things in another way, and i just did. Im not saying you should quit, if helps you, keep doing, but dont get addicted to it, the cure is inside you, trust me. youtube.com/watch?v=hIKFEkO3Qss

Iv done alot of trying to fix things by myself but it hasn't worked. My way of fixing things I'd ignoring it and never thinking about it and then cutting people that make me feel emotions. I'm seeing if prescriptions will.make my life better and if they do I will continue with them, but if they dont obvi will stop

It's good. Medication works perfectly fine for some folks. Yet for others they may experience nothing or a short periode of improvement. There is a lot of research on depression and we know it is a chemical misbalance (no shit...) - so we write perscriptions for chemicals and shit to the excitement for big pharma companies. We have stepped away from being in groups, we are alone the most of our time and it makes us miserable. Being a part of a group gives us a purpose, meaning and conformt. It's evolutionary. Anywho, start being social, be productive and be healthy. Soon you won't need some synthetic chemical ur body is easily able to produce it's self - givin the right circumstances. Stay away from drugs, you are not in the right state of mind for that shit. Good luck //

I'm actually fairly social but I do isolate myself. And in the past 6 months iv done a fuck ton to improve myself for the better like losing 5p pounds fixing my teeth cutting sugar out of my diet and trying to just improve myself. And yes I agree I dont do drugs. Family has a very bad past with drug abuse

Some people dont feel better being around other people, or at least dont get the "fix" most us get when being around each other. Medicine can be what keeps someone from ending themselves, and what causes others to do so. It really comes down to the individual.

Haha I see what you mean. It was more about him claiming the chemical inbalance in the brain was a result of not socializing enough.
2019-11-22 17:26

i think those things might be related though, but its not that not socializing causes the imbalance, there can be a natural imbalance due to genetics or lack of sunlight or lack of nutrition or whatever, and socializing more might help with it. i would recommend to go outside more as well to make sure to get enough sunlight which also helps produce chemicals
2019-11-22 17:30
That's what i said, different ppl different reaction. But I believe everyone can be cured without drugs. And drugs only cover up that you are miserable.

ted.com/talks/johann_hari_this_could_be_.. Johann Hari bringes up lots of good points in this Ted talk. Here is a article a bit critical of him: google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/sci.. Apparently he is cherry pickin arguments and what not. But I would say the agree with him to some extent.

google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/v.. Same with this one, they are against his word use and the stigmatization of the depressed ppl. But surely sounds like he got valid points.

Sorry to hear about your past, but I'm glad to hear medicine is helping. I know for some it literally ruins them, whereas for others it drastically improves their lives. If the latter is the case for you, then obviously stay on antidepressants. It is worth at a later point, exploring how you feel when you come off, to see if it is just placebo or a hard phase in your life you need to get past, or you maybe just need to keep taking it to feel great.

Someone mentioned above that being around people and making close friends that you can talk to about how you feel and stuff helps a lot and could just be what you need. But if you feel amazing right now I would just stick with it for a while and try to enjoy yourself, when you feel better later on, see if you can feel the same without taking anything, while just finding pleasure in persuing something and being around people more. Again you could be the most social person ever and just feel bad anyway, but for most people this isnt the case. I know for myself I sometimes dont feel like being around other people and I tend stay in a lot, which im perfectly happy doing. However I always find myself feeling better and being happier if I spend a lot of time with friends and family, despite whatever day to day stuff I have going on and need to stay on top of. :)

Confusing title..? Where does the girl come in I went on antidepressants for 1 week and it was horrible, I felt hungry 24/7 and even if I ate I was still hungry and it lowkey hurt in my stomach too. Also it was hard/impossible to cum during sex I stopped after 1 week so I can't tell anything about how it affected me mentally though

I shouldn't be feeling the effect but I do think I am placebo or not. It's been fairly good, iv had some pretty extreme emotions lately(mainly happy and love). I assume it will change the longer I'm on it

amazon.com/Lost-Connections-Uncovering-D.. This guy used antidepressant 13 years and they didn't cure shit. He even says "We've been telling ourselves this chemical story for 35 years and every year depression and anxiety gets worse." Doctors give this medication way too easily and those chemicals just damage your brain. Mostly after awhile people even feel worse than ever before.

It's almost like shit doesnt work for some and works for some. We are not that advanced into it and we will have problems with the system but saying it's a scam only hurts potential people who can get help.

It is a scam because it will make everything worse after a while, mankind isn't supposed to get his brain "fixed" with chemicals. We aren't supposed to feel "happy" with the help of chemicals which only cause more damage and harm afterwards. They make people numb and machine kind of cold persons.
