4th month of ISM PMI contraction in the US, insane inverted yieldcurve, loads of debt, negative EPS YoY growth and no trade deal until after 2020 election. :D:D:D everyone brace yourself!!!! Trump says it might be better to wait until after 2020 election for a China trade deal - cnbc.com/2019/12/03/trump-says-it-might-..

Why? It's a safe have asset and has been used for thousands of years as a means of exchange. Fiat currencies will disappear and we will go back to the gold standard.

Stock market crash --> consumer confidence drops --> consumption drops --> production falls and people start getting fired
2019-12-03 12:08
usa economy massive bubble, going to burst and take half of the banks worldwide down with them again, just like 2008. nothing changed. no adequate regulation.

Things did change in Australia. Capital adequacy became a forced regulation with constant scenario planning forced by APRA to ensure that our big 4 are prepared. I don't know about America though.
2019-12-03 12:31
well thats nice but here in europe and in usa nothing changed, they hit the reset button and got bailed out. govt here in netherlands made a couple billion by buying up all the stocks from some banks. theyre selling those off again slowly. but that money isnt close to the amount of damage that was done.

Can confirm. Australia was known as a haven to garuntee positive yield returns with low risk, generally in the forms of term deposits and government notes. Now it's recommended that investment clients take out higher risk and transcend the capital structure just to reach the same yield they earned a year ago. Uncertain times.

twitter.com/zerohedge/status/11765856555.. Debt is at record highs, probably also in correlation to gdp
2019-12-03 12:09
The funny thing is, how the hell so much money was found/created. I am pretty sure that if we combine all the gdps of the countries and companies in the world, it would not be some 250 trillion.

Just look at fed/ecb balance sheet expansion. ECB used to pump € 100 billion a month into the economy. Banks get cheap money and they have to take risks with it.
2019-12-03 12:19
they get money for free and then have to pay the ECB interest if they dont spend it.

Yup and they start taking unnecessary risks which wouldn't have been made in normal circumstances.
2019-12-03 12:29
they would have done it in normal circumstances too because theyre greedy shortsighted assholes with big swinging dicks who are genetically predestined to take these idiotic risks, thats why they went into finance in the first place. it would just take them longer to get the money together. ECB has been feeding a mountain of crack to a bunch of addicts.

Maybe, bailout was a bad idea. The huge risks they took lead them to going bankrupt. Then the government bailed them out and now they're doing the same.
2019-12-03 12:33
it wasnt a bad idea for the people who own the banks and the politicians that made that decision. they get paid even if they deliberately fuck up for short term profit and no one goes to prison. a government for the people, would bail out the people who are with that bank, take over all the bad loans and guarantee them. then let the bank fall, and sue the people who run it for malpractice or bad governance. but that will never happen as long as the government is owned by the rich.

USA and EU overproduced everything that people needed. Now we are going to see how a lot of people going to lose their jobs and be replaced by immigrants. Im not talking about 2020, i think crisis will hit after Trump reelection and inpichment right after it. Democrats want to earn more money, they don't really care about our lives.

No he's doing the right thing for the long term. can't let China get away with ripping the rest of the world off.
2019-12-03 12:21
if he wanted that he would have passed a law to stop recognizing copyright by chinese companies because of their copyright infringement and repeated industrial espionage and their requirement that companies that want to do business in china hand over technology to the chinese govt. this trade war is just a nice show for his home crowd who are too dumb to realize that trade tariffs actually push more jobs overseas.

Tariffs move people over to unproductive industries like steel. I mean by ripping the rest of the world off that they devalue their currency.
2019-12-03 12:31
tariffs on materials like steel, force more work to be done outside the USA. if you have to pay tariffs anyway, you might as well do work on those raw materials abroad in lower wage countries. whereas if there are only tariffs on finished products and not on materials, that is an incentive to do work in the USA to dodge the tariffs.

overpopulation is a self regulating problem, it has a negative feedback loop.
2019-12-03 12:38
the real issue will be preventing them from invading kazachstan mongolia and siberia in the next decades, if they cant get more territory then population control will be the only solution for chinese govt.

you westerns wont do shit against china in its expansion... either declare war against china either you wont do shit so throw the dices and see what happens next ? asia is obviously the future of the new world... you already wasted your only chance to contain china by pushing russia closer to them, now they have "unlimited" ressources access, a potentialy "unlimited" land that they will one day take from russia, decent quality military equipment that they will keep improving so what now ? And im not even talking about africa, china already dominates most of african countries... getting close to free ressources also.... so what now ? of yeah you will probably resort to your special ability, create chaos/terrorism everywhere china does business so they cant get money but it wont work... look at what they already started in their muslim province, your terrorist ideology wont work against china...

2019-12-03 12:54
The inverted yield curve has been a good predictor in the past but we only started monitoring it actively recently and it is a universal rule that things that are being monitored behave differently. The Federal Reserve and European Central Bank are injecting tons of money into the economy driving up inflation, racking up government debt and expanding the economy as a result. Who do you think the governments are in debt to? The central banks of the powerful few. This debt will never be paid up due to the policy being that they increase the debt each year to stimulate the economy and the interest on this money being enormous already. Compounding interest is one of the strongest concepts in economics and in the case of the governments' debts this will result in an infinite debt. Countries should not allow private companies to issue the currency on their behalf. Who do you think you are to predict a recession if the world's best econmics cant even do such thing accurately? In conclusion. You cannot time the market to perfection but the time in the market your capital has is very important since otherwise, you will see your buying power disappear due to inflation and taxes.
