climate deniers come here
Slovakia IvanSokolov
I put you idiots on the same level as people who believe in more than 2 genders, people who think Islam is a religion of peace and that donald trump is a KKK Nazi. Why is it that you shapiro and crowder fans, which is a problem of itself, go on about facts dont care about your feelings, but when the facts go against you its your feelings that override? If youre not admitting man made climate change is real because you dont want to be lumped in with Greenie hippies then I get you, Climate change is an economic issue and migration issue aswell. How many more third word rapefugees do you want fleeing to your country?

"let me quote one expert that downplays the issue and ignore the 1000 that explain why it is a huge issue"
2019-12-07 11:15
Everyone agree that humans do warm the earth to some degree (even cows add to the change you know) therefore all experts obviously agree, the point is how much do we contribute. So quit this shortsighted BS.
2019-12-08 02:11
Also those who study man-made warming rely on funds, if they come out stating man has insignificant influence on the weather then they'll lose all their funds obviously. I am not saying that's what they are doing but I have little faith in humans so it's a factor. Trump has the stance of Patrick Moore, it is shown that weather has been much worse in the past than what Thunberg fans fears.
2019-12-08 02:17
So you have nothing against the scientific consensus but you choose to believe otherwise :D
2019-12-08 07:03
You don't get as usual. We are talking about how much of 0.8 degrees that is man made, taking a wild guess since the climate has always been changing like this, so let's imagine man made warming has made the weather 0.1 degrees warmer what will you do about it? Spend 18 trillions of dollars and get very little in return? Anyway, I'm all for clean nuclear power, get rid of overuse of plastic and let's move on.

what a shit take
2019-12-08 08:43
Mushroom?
2019-12-08 08:43
The CO2 Levels and the rise in temperatures has been rising comparatively extremely fast ever since the start of the industrial revolution and has been very proportional to it and thats not just CORRELATION, its CAUSATION whether you like it or not. Humans are by far the most contributive factor. skepticalscience.com/its-not-us.htm
2019-12-08 10:09
Dr. Moore would say: "I understand the difference between correlation and causation, which is a key problem today. Even science journals accept articles where all that is shown is a correlation ... Between 1980 and 2000 there was a correlation between CO2 levels in the atmosphere and temperature, climate ... both were increasing, but for the 40 years before that there was no correlation, and right now there does not appear to be a correlation over the last 5-6 years, so people just selectively pick out where there is a correlation among things they want to demonstrate. So there it is, it's proof. But it's not proof because correlation is not proof of anything ... it's the old story: shark attacks and ice cream consumption are highly correlated, because when it is warm in the summer people are eating the most ice cream and they are going swimming ... that's the only time there'll be a shark attack because they're in the water. It doesn't mean that shark attacks cause ice cream consumption to go up."
2019-12-08 10:26
M8 are you gonna stop spewing bullshit quoting one dude over multiple lines of INDEPENDENT evidence that show clearly that CO2 and other greenhouse gases CAUSE warming of the athmosphere? skepticalscience.com/empirical-evidence-.. Do people like you actually think that scientists dont fucking understand the difference between correlation and causation? Why the fuck do you think I wrote it in #421 so CLEARLY so that even your peanut brain would pick it up?
2019-12-09 17:21
Are you an idiot, where do I say that CO2 and other greenhouse gases doesn't CAUSE warming of the atmosphere?
2019-12-09 17:23
You are not seriously asking that question right now, are you?

2019-12-10 18:08
Patrick moore is a fossil industry lobbyist fraud without any published climate science who lies about having cofounded Greenpeace despite Greenpeace having made a statement with evidence of the opposite nearly 10 years ago.
2019-12-07 16:14
Are you sure you are Russian? =D
2019-12-08 02:05
"I am not a fossil fuel lobbyist. Unless you have secret information I don't know about. I have never been a lobbyist. And certainly not for fossil fuel. But I support the use of fossil fuels as they are the basis of energy for our civilization. You can quit them anytime you wish." twitter.com/ecosensenow/status/112705657.. Where is your secret information mr. "Russian"?
2019-12-08 02:18
He is paid by the heartland institute which is a fossil fuel think tank and has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars for oil lobbyist "lectures". He's also made a video for PragerU which is owned by oil industry people.
2019-12-16 15:56
There's absolute zero wrong with PragerU only in the minds of degenerate leftists and corrupt elite. If you believe what you're saying then you really need to study deeper.

where are you getting your information from? lol
2019-12-06 22:07
Matter can absorb heat, some substances have a bigger capacity than others. Water can absorb A LOT of heat before rising its temperature, but it also means it wouldn't let go of the heat it absorbed and revert to it's previous condition. A lot of greenhouse gases means a lot of heat is not being released from the atmosphere, and water absorbs a lot of it, causing ice to melt. Once it's melt, water simply doesn't remember it was ice before and the heat it absorbed, it will keep searching for balance and spreading it through the rest of the ice. It's liquid now. So it triggers a domino effect. Ice keeps melting. Sea levels rise, temperatures lower. You can also mention the factor of overpopulation and scarcity of natural resources... That's also a problem. So even if we reverted back to the medieval age right now, the events are already in motion, it's just about slowing them down. Finding a way to survive against the odds or luckily, heal the planet back, and that's a big IF, because, as I said, water has no memory :)

I never said I didn't believe in climate change, I do believe in it of course, I was just asking how it would "game over for most life on earth", perhaps he's right though, I just interpreted it as 'game over' for humans, and it probably will be game over for quite a lot of humans, but probably not for me.

The idea that it will lead to the extinction of humanity is absurd.
2019-12-06 23:10
Literally no credible institution is claiming that.
2019-12-06 23:58
theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/08/.. There are a few sensationalists misrepresenting stuff like the above.
2019-12-07 01:27
It doesnt say anything about mankind going extinct?
2019-12-07 01:29
I'm talking about people taking articles like that and going TWELVE YEARS!!!! WE HAVE TWELVE YEARS TO LIVE!!! They aren't common, but they exist. I was mostly just clarifying you wern't one of them
2019-12-07 01:34
"They aren't common, but they exist." Exactly, so dont use that as your first response to an actually serious topic. If you were to make a thread saying "we need to look at the issue of immigration with a rational mind and not let our feelings for or against refugees decide" and I come along and say "SAYING ALL REFUGEES ARE RAPISTS IS ABSURD" you would rightfully call me out as someone who made a stupid strawman rebuttal for no reason other than a couple of right-wingers making that claim. Its ridiculous. Just concentrate on the arguments of the mainstream body of science instead of rebutting obvious bullshit. Only that way we can actually make the conversation more fucking reasonable.
2019-12-07 11:20
no, its just you misinterpreting the guidelines from the UN and IPCC (which are misguided anyway). 12 years is the deadline to reduce emissions before warming reaches catastrophic levels / gets locked in too soon, not the timespan humanity ends.
2019-12-07 15:51
Also the guardian is not a credible institution of science. They sell ads for money.
2019-12-07 01:33
they reurgitate credible scientific information tho, only they sometimes do it in a sensationalist / doomer kind of way.
2019-12-07 15:52
Because thats their agenda. To get clicks to sell ads.

2019-12-07 10:58
Climate change can forcibly start a domino effect that could lead to mass genocide and possibly extincion in the next 150-200 years, but in 50 or so years the effects of climate change will be irreversible, so we have 50 or less years to fix it. As it is now, global warming is making the ice at the Northern and Southern poles melt, leading to water levels rising as well as greenhouse gasses staying in the atmosphere causing temperatures to rise. Water levels rising is the biggest concern, as massive amounts of land would vanish under water. Countries such as Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Sweden and most other countries and coast lines that are close to sea level would just vanish, leaving less space for human life. Less space for human life means overpopulation will be an even bigger issue, and it'd lead to mass migration to where land is. In the end, this could cause genocide in fights to obtain and rule over land and forcibly lessen the issue of overpopulation. This is what i believe could be the biggest threat to human life instead of "earth burning itself to the ground due to global warming in 50 years" like some ppl claim.
2019-12-07 07:38
"Irreversible" is a relative term. Given enough time, the earth will probably recover from whatever we throw at it. It won't ever be the same, sure, and if that's what you meant, you'd be correct. But, life will continue to exist, and almost certainly in a similar fashion it does today. Finally, The notion that we will let what we're doing right now continue for centuries isn't one I think is even worth considering. Unfortunately, it will probably take a few underwater nations, and potentially thousands of lives, but people will wake up eventually, and the mess will begin to be resolved long before we reach the hundred year mark. We humans have somehow survived this long, even if through dumb luck, and even if it's wishful thinking, I don't think we're going to fuck up so badly we commit total omnicide any time soon.
2019-12-07 07:47
It won't just revert back to how it was like that lol. Ice absorbs heat and turns into water, and it keeps spreading the heat it absorbed through the rest of the ice, so it keeps melting and melting, plus, some ice sheets are holding a lot of greenhouse gases on them, which would be released and accelerate the issue even more. It won't just be like "oh hey, I should become ice again". water is liquid from 0ºC to 100ºC. The surface could be at 1ºC or 50ºC and you'd have water anyway. So please, tell me, how are u gonna put back all the ice where it was lmao and the sea levels back? I really don't see how :D
2019-12-07 12:26
Sea level wont rise that much since ice of northern and eastern pole have displaced the water.
2019-12-07 09:21
According to DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) they expect water levels to rise by somewhere between 20cm and 140cm in the next 50-100 years, whereas other scientific panels believe it could be up to 200cm. However, according to illvid.dk/naturen/klimaforandringer/hvad.. (danish article im sorry), science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/.. and usgs.gov/faqs/how-would-sea-level-change.. the amount of ice left to melt from both poles and the ice on and around Greenland would be enough to make water levels rise between 60 and 90 meters if it all melts. Of course the idea of all the ice melting is very farfetched and out in the future, but it could happen at some point if humanity does continue on the crash course we're set on for now.
2019-12-07 14:01
not humanity but modern civilizations for sure.
2019-12-07 08:49
Oh I'm sorry I didn't know you already survived extreme weather conditions before lol. Think about it, life on surface won't allow for plants to grow, or for a mammal to live on it, we'd need to live in bunkers. And it'd have to be massive bunkers because you'd need to filter oxygen, recycle soil to grow crops, don't even know how people would raise animals in bunkers, they produce waste and you'd have to get rid of that waste and your own along with their corpses.

After the Amazon rainforest wildfires I heard so many people (and known people on TV) saying something like "We used to say that in our childhood the grass was greener and sky bluer, but the next generation wont even know what the trees are, they have to go to museum to see trees" :D The media presented this like the wildfires happened first time.
2019-12-07 09:06
The wildfires are getting worse, you brick for a brain.
2019-12-07 11:24
my friend, every time the UN releases a new report, it says everything is going to be much worse than was already predicted by previous research. we are looking at at least +3 degrees across the planet and risk of runaway greenhouse effect, millions if not billions of people are going to die. the sea level will rise much more rapidly than expected. if the ice on antarctica and greenland melts, which it will, were looking at at least +30 meters sea water level. insects, that pollinate plants, eat dead plants and animals, are in the middle of a mass extinction event, caused by humans. soon, we wont even be able to rely on nature to grow our crops. huffpost.com/entry/humans-bees-china_n_5.. the media isnt even telling you about the worst parts. if they did, people would riot.

Conservative parties hate anything that is "new" so they hate the idea of climate change. Any change is a threat thus is climate change a hoax
2019-12-07 01:11
Conservatives are definitely more the ones denying climate change, there is no question. I am not sure why that is, but I think its got something to do with their personal hatred of both any and all alteration of the free market by the government and "tree-huggers" on the left which makes them automatically recoil at the idea of 1. forcing companies to litter less (coz that would obviously be a COMMUNIST attempt at regulating companies and therefore a disgusting horrible invasion into the free market) 2. putting money and effort into saving nature coz the idea sounds too much like it comes from a treehugger (even though its literally coming from millions of scientists all over the world) and building up the green energy industry would also be a disgusting commie intervention into the free market by the state

theguardian.com/environment/2017/nov/02/.. “See what happens when climate change drives people out of Africa – the Sahel [sub-Saharan area] especially – and we’re talking now not just one or two million, but 10 or 20 [million]. They are not going to south Africa, they are going across the Mediterranean.” Mediterranean as in Southern Europe. You think these cunts are stopping in Spain? Merkel will let them in with big hugs
2019-12-06 22:55
And you believe this? Grow up kid
2019-12-06 22:59
Wait, wtf dude ... climate refugees have been fleeing their countries for a while now dickhead Youre telling me to grow up yet you deny facts because you subscribe yourself to a political ideology that, as a collective, denies that climate change exists to validate your already retarded opinions so, idk, crowder gives you a discount on his mug club? Which is ironic because he told YOU that "oh wtf man china has highest emissions and doesnt do shit" despite Crowder literally getting those fucking mugs and merch made in China. Youre the child mate, stop being a fucking fool
2019-12-06 23:28
I know refugees in Germany. Literally no one of them was fleeing because of climate changes. You are a naive fool. They are immigrating into social economies and sending money home.
2019-12-07 00:06
Im not talking about refugees of the migrant crisis in 15, despite some syrians being affected by severe droughts. Im talking about the future dickhead I assume a lot? Like when you dismiss all the facts and assume its all bullshit. No thanks, i think im going to side with the climate scientists rather than some 200IQ denialist on hltv
2019-12-07 02:29
You were talking about refugees that are already here. Are you stupid? Read what you wrote yourself. Also: what if I told you that I’m not a denialist, rather the opposite? Dumb fuck.
2019-12-07 07:38
I didnt, And if you read the article you would see the quote is talking about the future.
2019-12-07 08:57
Wait, wtf dude ... climate refugees have been fleeing their countries for a while now dickhead Your words, no?
2019-12-07 09:18
Yes, they have I didnt say they were the muslims in Germany from the migrant crisis in 2015? Most of them are from South East Asian countries.
2019-12-07 09:23
Ok then for the future: be more clear about what you want to say or otherwise we talk about different topics, misunderstanding each other and waste time.
2019-12-07 09:26
"climate refugees have been fleeing their countries for a while now" Exactly, and when it gets even worse, there will be even MORE at the doorstep of more northern countries, including germany. And I know that virtually no one wants that and I totally agree. What I and so many others propose - and I know this is totally and utterly insane - is actually working to solve the problem instead of letting it get too big and then complaining about it which seems to be more like your strategy.
2019-12-07 11:37
Also: you assume a lot, also a sign of you being immature. You have Zero grounds for your statements.

I dont really know where i "stand" but i mostly favour individual responsibility/freedom and less govermment intrusion in our lives And i love guns
2019-12-07 01:24
Oh I dont know, maybe Crowder, Shapiro, Paul Joseph Watson, Jesse Lee Peterson, Stephan Molyneux, Donald Trumps twitter, Breitbart, Michael J Knowles, Alex Jones, Gavin McInnes, Owen Benjamin and finally of course Fox fucking News. MAYBE from those guys who are all pretty unanimous on the issue. At least in terms of actively misinforming.
2019-12-07 11:42
Today, those 2.4 millions we get each year don't. But tomorrow with the global warming, those 24 millions we will get each year will. If you though social warfare, war or poverty were motivating people enough to go live in another continent, just wait to see how water issues and starvation are better motivations.
2019-12-07 08:53
Closer the borders. Easy.

What the fuck? Europe analraped africa about 100 years ago in case you dipshit dropped out in 6th grade and never leaned that. Africa was doing fine until the europeans fucked shit up once more. So again, europe creates problems and expects others to live and deal with the consequences.

Europe made the african economy crash after leaving. They exploited the ppl there for hunger wages and got all their resources, and when the resources started bringing less profits they left the continent with all the infrastructure. What the fk did europeans do to africa that you are so proudly talking off, fking german kiddo. But i understand, you sit in your room and scared of watching all the news. You don't get to talk shit in front of a black dude or other immigrant cause you know he will destroy you on the same spot you are standing lol. Ahh, youre one of those guys that says that the colonization of europeans was a blessing for those pathetic africans? Now it all makes sense.
2019-12-07 17:27
It was
2019-12-07 18:24
That is a vile rhetoric. Let me guess, those native americans also deserved what happened to them?
2019-12-07 18:44
Look at ex german colonies. They are doing pretty fine. Look what happens to South Africa rn. They are killing white farmers. Already getting into trouble when it comes to agriculture. Look at every black country that has been left alone. Absolute shitholes. Native Americans is something entirely different. They just got slaughtered.
2019-12-07 18:46
Their countries got ravaged and their people massacred and then all of a sudden left alone when the europeans realized that what they are doing might not be moral after all. No wonder shits been unstable ever since. Are they not killing white farmers because those whites shouldnt even have been there in the first place? I am not defending the murders at all but if those whites hadnt gone there in the first place or had gone there peacefully, this shit wouldnt be happening.
2019-12-07 18:52
So the farmers deserve it?
2019-12-07 18:55

2019-12-07 20:52
Moralizing is not helping your argument. I never said it was all nice and pretty. Are you dumb?
2019-12-07 21:08
Umm, a blessing implies that it was overall a good thing. If I give you a million dollars but rape your mother and shoot you in the head, thats not a blessing.
2019-12-07 23:46
It was overall a good thing. In Namibia for sure. Your infantile comparisons don’t change that.
2019-12-08 00:10
R.J. Rummel, a University of Hawaii scholar who spent his life estimate state-perpetrated atrocities, put the 20th century death toll attributable to colonialism at 50 million (behind only the Soviet Union and communist China in total killed) Look the facts in the eyes. Your little "water supplies" dont change the deaths.
2019-12-08 00:21
Wonder how many would have died up to this day to diseases and starvation (without saying that these numbers aren’t sick). If that’s true (and I don’t have the time rn to check) that is a lot more than I had thought.
2019-12-08 00:29
Ahh, so you are basing your entire argument completely and fully on a grand assertion. noice
2019-12-08 01:17
whites have been in South Africa since the 1600s, longer than the Bantu. The Bantu actually believe they are the natives when they genocided the real natives, Khoisan.
2019-12-07 23:59
oh you didn't pass elementary school history
2019-12-07 16:55
Dude, i know more about history than your whole communist rathole you live in combined. You are clueless.
2019-12-07 17:00
Have you ever heard of Gorbachev? Russia is a capitalist hell state. Africa's infrastructure was built to accomodate colonial export, not connections within Africa. Conflicts caused entirely by colonialism still affect the continent. Modern trade deals are designed to keep africa perpetually exploited.
2019-12-16 16:02
Read „The Case for Colonialism„ from professor Bruce gilley. Especially the part about Namibia and Tansania (ex german colonies). You would be surprised.
2019-12-16 16:33
lol why do you feel the need to clarify he's a professor
2019-12-23 02:43
Well that’s what he is. Did you read it?
2019-12-23 09:18
I'm sick and tired of fucking imperialist apologists referring to that piece of shit book
2019-12-24 22:04
So the first world is at fault for climate change so you think they should bring more people in (this time from A*rica) to live the life of the first world that causes such an environmental crisis in the first place?
2019-12-08 00:07
Are you seriously trying to make that argument?
2019-12-08 01:17
seems to me that is what you are trying to make, perhaps I misinterpret.
2019-12-08 06:06
I am saying that the first world should own up to it and either immediately start working against climate change, but since so many on the right are against that, the only "logical" conclusion is that apparently all of those climate change deniers are for the production of millions of refugees and then cant turn around and shoot those refugees at the border because of a problem that the 1st world created. It would be incredibly immoral.
2019-12-08 10:02
So you acknowledge our lifestyle is unstustainable and don't care, but you use it as an argument to keep brown people out?
2019-12-16 16:11
I am against the material life style of the first world, yes. Therefore I am against adding more people to it. And the first world takes care of the environment better than most places in the world.
2019-12-17 15:33
Nope, it simply outsources its production and thereby environmental destruction to the global south.
2019-12-24 23:14
Right, and still doesn’t stop the third world from filling the waters and land with shit and trash. Either way, the industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
2019-12-25 06:04
they're dumping it in nature because they have to produce shit to live and can't afford dealing with the trash because the global north exploits them too hard
2020-01-04 13:09
More than 2 genders is a thing though. Even more than two sexes is a thing. XY, XX, and then certain genetical mutations.
2019-12-06 23:31
Yeah I mean biologically there's even a third gender called intersex so 2 sexes is factually wrong
2019-12-07 00:00
Correct mens
2019-12-07 00:16
Genetic mutation is a defect not a natural process.
2019-12-07 02:39
It’s a natural process. How do you think that evolution works? That’s the same bullshit that people try to bring for genders too. “Anyone who feels like the other gender or another gender is a defect”. No, it’s fucking natural. The main reason other genders are seen as a defect is because they don’t contribute as much to the prosperity of the species, but so does half of the people in HLTV, since they’re incel cucks. No need to hate on natural people just because you think you are biologically superior.

Interesting. For someone who knows his stuff about biology i wish you’d be a little more open minded on new ideas
2019-12-07 21:35
OMG! Look, I listen to people who agree and disagree, study the subject and formulate my OPINION. You have your opinion, this guy has his opinion and I have my opinion based on my knowledge, life context. You cannot admit that there is an absolute opinion. I like to talk face to face, the internet is the worst place to debate topics like this.
2019-12-07 22:54
I’m so intelligent that I can’t differentiate biology from psychology kkkkkk good job Brazilian
2019-12-07 23:24
Could you talk without being arrogant and hateful? Your speech strikes me as authoritarian and superior because it has a different opinion. Also you use the term "Braziliam" with a xenophobic connotation when referring to my nationality. In the second comment you only use biological terms. And today I feel like a dining table.

Idk for sure, but i think he’s trying to say the number of refugees with increase because of harder subsistence farming conditions, specifically in the Sahel region. These people rely on farming for the food and wealth, and as the climate becomes drier and drier, they will become climate refugees.

I'm not a commie/socialist but capitalism is awful when it comes to climate change. You see big markets like the USA, tell developing economies like India to take innitiative first instead of them because they produce more emmisions or whatever the fuck. It's just that no country wants to lose money investing in a system that's not going to reward them financially.
2019-12-07 00:50
Also on the other spectrum we have Germany, which has already developed using coal a lot back in the days and now they want to force other people not to use it as much when they single handedly emited most of that crap into the atmosphere. They also have multiple huge factories out of borders of their country, so in general their emission is probably way higher.

Islands like the Maldives literally have their average height of islands between 1m and 1.5m, when the sea levels rise the entire country will literally have to evacuate. The same goes for many other island nations. People who deny climate change either are completely stupid or only do it because it benefits their companies (such as an oil company).

you know that the Christians were as bad as the Muslims for a part are right now. religion is for a part just about trying to force people into believing the same shit you believe in. the difference is that Christianity is vested in a lot of countries where the church has no power any more. but the lands that have the islam as their main religion are often not as stable and democratic as those others that have christianity as their main religion.

it is as it happend a few times already. the only difference is that the world wide ecosystem does this and knows how to react to it so it gets stable again. the climate on earth has always been formed into kind off waves. the difference now is that even tho the worldwide ecosystem will be producing less co2 to bring the wave back down again, the humans won't stop and our world wide ecosystem is not capable of slowing us down. so yes, global warming is our fault. but its a lie that the co2 levels in the air have never been higher before.
2019-12-07 15:43
Thats like saying that a guy who has been on meth and hasnt slept in two weeks is also just having his normal sleep cycle. Of COURSE NOT. What we see in terms of temperature rising goes way beyond anything that could be part of a natural cycle, bro.
2019-12-07 11:50
Yes, global warming does exist, but it is a natural phenomenon. It does not depend on human actions.
2019-12-07 17:24
Not the type of global warming we see today. Thats vastly BEYOND a normal natural phenomenon. And this global warming DOES depend on human greenhouse gas output.
2019-12-07 17:25
How about you start studying those who think differently from the UN?
2019-12-07 17:37
The UN is just one of MANY sources for the scientific fact of climate change. And to assert that every single scientist on the world is part of a giant conspiracy is completely and utterly laughable and anyone who argues that has no right to call themselves a realist even in the slightest.
2019-12-07 18:49

2019-12-08 11:50
You know, in the 16 century, the majority of scientists thought that the earth was flat an they were wrong. Like Huxley said "it's a natural phenomenom". 1 thousand year before, the temperature was pretty much the same as today.

Thats like saying because scientists 500 years ago didnt talk about atoms and quantum physics, that shit doesnt exist. Science back then was nowhere near the level of quality and co-referencing checking of worldwide resources that it is today, also there were no clear scientific rules. It was much muddier than today so your argument of "science was wrong once so its completely unreliable" is not only utterly laughable in itself but also ironic considering you wrote me this message via devices that rely strictly on scientific principles that work FOR A REASON. Also, AGAIN, NOTHING IN HISTORY HAS EVER BEEN LIKE WHAT WE OBSERVE TODAY. There have been high temperature peaks at certain places in history but they have NEVER been globe-wide temperature rises. Educate yourself.

Having a different opinion on some issues apparently makes you stupid xD , it's crazy how thin skulled some people are . There's a lot of scientists on both sides of the argument so why can't someone believe something else? Why are people so intolerant ?
2019-12-07 03:10
97% consensus among climate scientists that climate change is caused by man. Well yes if the science for years has said that human emissions are causing climate change, and people choose to deny it well then yes, you are stupid. You have a right to be stupid, but seriously? I've heard a range of retardation from denialists from its a ploy to introduce communism to climate change is actually good to the climate not existing period.
2019-12-07 04:08
A census isn't proof, it's an opinion.
2019-12-07 09:08
Bullshit. You are trying to equate your opinion and the ones on fox news and a couple scientists founded by Koch brother think tanks with the opinion of virtually every scientist working on the topic for 8 hours straight everyday for years. You are pathetic. A scientific consensus is by far the most reliable tool we have when it comes to evaluating the situation on a certain scientific topic. And guess what, WONDER WHY there is that consensus, MAYBE ITS BECAUSE THERE IS TONS OF PROOF?

Really? What's dodgey about the way they measure their stuff? Your going to say the majority of scientists that have a consensus on it are money driven or their method is wrong? Your whole thing on this is a conspiracy theory? There's literally no reason to not trust a 97% consensus from climate scientists around the world, not to mention all the top organization and universities. Also there's no reason why kids should be taught what's just dead wrong, there's no debate about it

i mean people have been taught dead wrong info in school in the past so why can't it happen now? A lot of scientists measure the increasing temps in cities which is in very very misleading and that for me is one of the many reasons to be central on the situation especially since it's a very complicated one and i dont see how that makes me retarded. yes climate change does exist but there's a lot information against it being completely man made like we're taught in school.

First of all, they do teach both sides if that's what your worried about. Atleast here they do. Secondly, they didnt measure the temperature of cities to determine if humans are likely the most dominant influencer of climate change. From my understanding they measured ancient sediments, ice pockets, trees, coral reefs etc. Thirdly, they don't teach in school that it's completely man made. What they're saying is that humans are most likely the dominant contributor for it. But there's no way I'm going to convince you if you can't even believe a consensus made by 97% of climate scientists. Like dude, you can't get more verified, proofread, top of the notch research than that. Why would you even begin to sway when it's so obvious. And for information not by top universities or the most verified research organizations?

idk how it is in canada but i was taught that it's only green gasses. For the cities thing i meant that a lot of researchers to determine if the temperatures are getting higher measure them in the cities which i think we can both agree is pretty unreliable and as i said earlier i'm not denying anything i'min the middle of this whole situation, I just wouldn't be surprised if it was hoax so dont twist my words too much
2019-12-08 02:12
Climate change is a thing, it has always been. However, humans do not affect it as much as nature itself does. You could sail across Greenland 2000 years ago, same as you could sail in the East Siberian sea, now those are covered with ice. How tf do you think people affected that? I really don’t mind the climate change, as it has gotten much warmer since, say, 20 years ago. And if some aborigines on the islands are going to sink, let them be, now it’s my turn to live in a warm climate.
2019-12-07 06:53
Even 2000 ago, Greenland was a land. Lands are not seas wtf are you under?
2019-12-07 08:56
"Sail across Greenland", ever heard that Greenland is an island, and islands are surrounded by sea/ocean?
2019-12-07 10:50
We can do that today too mate.
2019-12-07 11:16
Across means through or on. You could never sail on or through Greenland. Around maybe. If this is just English skills, sry for being a dick.

A few things , There are ancient "pockets", "storage", "bubbles", samples of the atmosphere dating back to 800,000 years, found in ice, coral reefs, sediments, trees etc. They've been recording our atmosphere as well. And they found an abnormal spike in carbon dioxide starting just at the industrial revolution, which has grown significantly since then. So with that, you they can guess the effects of climate change. And now they see those effects happening. climate.nasa.gov/
2019-12-07 17:10
If the normal person has a sleep cycle of 16hoursAwake/8hoursSleep and that person takes meth and then just so happens to be awake for 2 weeks straight, that is not normal or natural. And that should be obvious.
2019-12-07 17:31
I don't believe it and tbh I don't give a fuck even if it's real.

2019-12-07 11:54
Yeah yeah... you're watching way too many apocalyptic movies sir. This could happen but not because of... "oh my, climate change. how dare you". It bugs me out people caring about climate change when there's a higher and real chance to the World end in a nuclear war before all these climate catastrophes happen. Just think about and live the best while you still can.
2019-12-07 18:11
What? There is a shitton that needs to be done for the slowing down of climate change, whereas a nuclear conflict can be avoided with a comparatively miniscule amount of diplomacy work. You are literally just keeping your little rose-tinted glasses on and dont want to look reality in the eye.
2019-12-07 18:46
Diplomacy only works for civilized countries. You can't trust dictators or religious lunatics with nuclear power.
2019-12-07 19:24
"so instead we should invade" or what??
2019-12-07 19:59
There's nothing we can do. Just live everyday the best you can.
2019-12-07 20:26
Well ok, so there is nothing we can do about nuclear shit. There IS A LOT however that we can do about climate change. Unless of course there are nihilists like you that just ignore the FACTS and sit back like irresponsible little kids. I wouldnt be surprised if youre around 16 years old and think being an edgy nihilist is cool. Its not.
2019-12-07 20:43
As I said, it's more easy to the World come to end through a nuclear war before any climate catastrophe happen. There's no FACTS (signs ain't facts) about climate change, they could just be wrong AGAIN. The majority of the scientific community claims climate change is real? Yes. All of them? No. I side with the minority them.
2019-12-07 21:34
"There's no FACTS (signs ain't facts) about climate change, they could just be wrong AGAIN." The consensus was never wrong about climate change. Also, if you FOR EXAMPLE have a guy who is paranoid-schizophrenic and also on LSD, cocaine and meth and the majority of the scientific community says "that guy should not be driving a car because he is a danger for everyone else", thats also not "facts" but only "signs" but they would still be OBVIOUSLY CORRECT. You are just a fucking idiot. Just admit that you have absolutely no clue about the biological and climatological facts. Tell me, when was the last time you actively informed yourself about climate change? "The majority of the scientific community claims climate change is real? Yes. All of them? No. I side with the minority them." WHY WHY WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT.
2019-12-08 01:26
One thing is get a man and a woman and say: he has a penis, he's a male. FACT! She has a vagina, she's a female. FACT! Now the climate change is all about "muh temperature is rising 0.something degrees cuz humans" Well, prove it. Could it be anything else other than humans too. It's abstract just like many other things. I don't bite it. "Just admit that you have absolutely no clue about the biological and climatological facts." Just like most of the scientists paid to say they do but I don't get a penny so I can be critical about it.
2019-12-08 02:05
"Well, prove it." Will you even change your opinion if I prove it to you? Coz frankly, I dont think you are honest about this whole topic in the first place. "Just like most of the scientists paid to say they do but I don't get a penny so I can be critical about it." THOSE FUCKING SCIENTISTS HAVE STUDIED THAT SHIT FOR YEARS AND DECADES AND ARE STILL DOING SO 8 HOURS EVERYDAY. THIS IS THE FUCKING ARROGANCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE DENIERS THAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. TO ASSERT THAT YOUR OPINION ON CLIMATOLOGICAL ISSUES IS WORTH AS MUCH AS THAT OF THE CONSENSUS OF MILLION OF SCIENTISTS IS NOTHING SHORT OF OUTRAGEOUS. AND HOW ABOUT YOU START REALIZING THAT EVERY SINGLE SCIENTIST THAT HAS BEEN AGAINST THE NOTION OF CLIMATE CHANGE IS LINKED TO SOME CONSERVATIVE THINK TANK IF YOU JUST HAD THE INTEGRITY TO DO EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF RESEARCH ON THE PERSON THAT YOU CHOOSE TO "SIDE WITH". YOU ARE PATHETIC.
2019-12-08 10:14
Climate change is causing acidification of the oceans which in turn is killing large portions of coral reefs. What was once one of the largest, richest, and most diverse ecosystems in the world become a thing of the past.

nothing is going to be done? the moment where something could still be done passed about 25 years ago right around when Al Gore started telling people about it. youre about your entire lifetime late with this remark.
2019-12-07 09:18
According to many scientists there is still time to make a significant difference. Of course it would have been better to start back in the 80s when the doomsday predictors first brought it up, but better late than never.
2019-12-07 09:20
see #152 we are fucked. its already too late. enjoy life while you can.
2019-12-07 09:24
Yes I know all this, I am not ignorant to our impending doom. But if everyone on the planet genuinely decided to take action right now and stop caring about making money, then we could actually make a difference. I know that sounds like weed smoking hippy shit from the 70s, but it is the only way the next generations have a chance. Like I said (and you) it is almost too late, and by the time people in power actually try to change because 300 miles of land go underwater and 60 million people die in a day, we are already fucked.
2019-12-07 10:38
its already too late. the people in charge dont care. they are prepared to face the consequences of climate change. they can afford to buy land in safe areas, build climate controlled bunkers, stockpile food. they dont care if every coastal city on the planet floods and millions of people die. i actually think thats what they want. as a form of population control. otherwise, drastic action would have already been taken. even here in holland the only thing we're really doing right is reinforcing the dikes and the coastline. in terms of energy transition we're just fucking around. thats not by accident.
2019-12-07 10:43
Yes I know you are right, all of our leaders have access to this research well before we do and are being advised on what to do. Honestly before I had a child I knew that this shit was happening and I didn't really care because I knew there was absolutely nothing I could do. I still know there's absolutely nothing I can do, but one can hope right?
2019-12-07 10:47
i just try to do what i can by recycling, not buying shit i dont need, repairing things that break instead of just buying new crap, taking public transport instead of having a car, which is cheaper here as well, you know that kind of stuff. and if everyone does that then it has a bit of impact. if you remove all petrol vehicles that is 30% of total co2 output. it doesnt affect methane at all. most of the greenhouse gases come from industry and from agriculture. as long as those can lobby against taxes that actually cover the cost of mitigating the cost of co2 output, it is not financially viable for companies to reduce their output.
2019-12-07 10:52

It is sad to see these giant corporations try and profit from boasting "green energy" or just the term "green" in general. 2019-12-07 10:39
Climate is warming, but there's nothing people can do. The earth is going through phases. At one point, the earth was covered with water, for some reason, we got ice age, all of water froze. Then ice age ended, most of the ice has melted, but we still have the north- and south poles, which have ice, just taking longer to melt there. Or do you want me to believe that when I drive my car, and I give more money to the goverment in form of tax, the warming will stop? It's just a way for goverments to cash in on the money. Also another point, people yell about temperature records, but the records don't go that far back, so the sample size is so small.
2019-12-07 09:35
You sound like you haven't actually done any real research, and are basing that on completely your own sole opinion. Of course the earth changes, no one is denying that. And in 10000 years the earth will probably be uninhabitable regardless of what people do to it. Being able to survive with technology in an otherwise uninhabitable environment will be a necessity for the continuation of human existence. But we are genuinely no where near that level of technology for sustaining a large population, and if we have any hope of survival then we must attempt to slow down global warming.

"who believe in more than 2 genders" Actually it is a biological fact there are more than 2 genders. Some persons have a mix out of this two biological.

Geroge Carlin once said something like; "The planet is fine, it's been here for 4 billion years. It's the people who are fucked." The earth has gone through millions of years of bombardment from asteroids and comets. To think that we can actually destroy the planet is funny. We are probably fucked tho, I agree with that.

we're not going to actually destroy earth, just its ecosystems

When people say climate change, it's not vaguely talking about the changing climates, scientists are not arguing that. Their talking about the apparent jump in c02 after the industrial revolution. Their saying humans are very likely the dominant force in influencing the climate.

Let's be real. A lot of activists scream and blame others but don't act very climate friendly themselves. Going on vacations with plane, ordering stuff online, buying new smartphones each year, posting stuff online all the time... did you know that a few google queries consume as much energy as boiling a cup of tea... :)

2019-12-07 16:08
u ppl need to stop caring, like seriously. if our end happens, it happens. do u wanna, now just live ur life in fear for the next 20-50 years just cuz the mass media wants u too? life is pointless u live on a small planet in a endless universe and no one is going to help us anytime soon. so just do the best, stop fighting eachother and point fingers over some oldschool divide agendas, would make already things easier.
2019-12-07 16:59
smart ruski here. but greta????
2019-12-07 17:11
i dont like it when non-scientists claim to have the knowledge that the world-climate will kill us all within the next decades. If we cannot do weather predictions for weeks how do we predict climate within 20 or 30 years lmao
2019-12-07 17:39
spreading hate and fear is the easist way to keep the peasants aka citizens in control. roman empire did it, the pagans did it. we do it. it will not change. and in the world we live in nowadays where everyone is addicted to technology and media, its easier than ever to spread things.
2019-12-07 17:56
yeah sry but greta is quite comparable to religious fundamentalists. And everybody is cheering. Is she fostering a balanced rational discourse or is she polarizing and sending choleric retards on the streets thinking everybody will die by tomorrow ?

Climate is changing, now we need to find out why. Is it because of carbon dioxide? is it because of something else? are we missreading the situation because of the focus we have on carbon dioxide? Maybe it's because of we're too many humans on earth? Water might be rising because of the weight of 3 billion more people on earth in the next 20 years? how much does 3 billion people weigh mate? when you're sitting in a bath the water rises Kappa

the real problem is the over population and the globalism, if we wouldnt keep "haalf of africa" alive artificially, and if we didnt made economy just for profit but only to make enough that the own population could live a good life, we wouldnt have such problems.

yes gravity deniers exist. they call themselves flat earthers. funny enough they try to get around gravity by calling it buoyancy. ironic cuz buoyancy doesnt work without gravity.

Climate hysteria is one way to control people and dictate money flows in certain directions. What personally triggers me is that people are feeling the need to personally change the climate with actions that are almost nonexistent compared to the real problems and heavily judge others. For example plastic is now satans work even if it is easilly recyclable and simply the best solution for food containment. This is true in Finland but not everywhere in world. THAT is big part of the problem. There are many debates where facts are thrown out of the window first and then the discussion is derailed so hard that even flat earth starts to sound reasonable. So contain yourselves and stop demanding that "EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD CHANGE THE WORLD FOR ME".
2019-12-08 08:38
it's easier to demand others to change the world rather than reducing one's own quality of life willingly. it's easier to convince oneself that delaying personal change is legitimized by trying to convinced others to undergo the same kind of change, than to be the one taking the first step.

Climate change is real - you'd have to be an idiot in day and age not to understand that. BUT let's just theorize for a moment that it isn't. What on earth do we have to lose by making the air, the land and the sea cleaner? What do we have to lose by switching from fossil fuels to sustainable energy? At worst, what you are going to get is a more educated and more skilled work-force ready for the future. At worst, your countries become more independent by being more self-sustaining. At worst, you'd get less pollution. Some crazy people might even call that a win-win situation........
