for me, danish is literally impossible to understand (r*tarded version of norwegian) so i could see myself living there for 35 years and never understanding it)))
2019-12-07 21:19
Well to be fair its the other way around.. Since Norway was a part of Denmark for longer than its been Norway. And all 3 scandinavian nation say this about each other, bit silly. The scandinavian culture is super nice, only 3 nations in the world have it. and all 3 nations is at the hight of what humans have made of civilization.. So much history, so much in commen.. What is the point in talking retarted about small difference.. Dialects can be more wierd to understand than the difference between danish, norwegian and swedish.. And like all dialects and/or languages its more about getting used it the same way people learn english. that btw is 11% danish..

any norwegian dialect is easier to understand than common danish dialects, even some obscure swedish dialects can be easier to understand than danish. danish is just worse
2019-12-07 21:29
Well you have every right to think so ofc. Its a personal thing from person to person. However norwegian is still in large build on danish because of history. And for many its not that big of a deal.. If you never learned english and hear english you understand nothing. But if you never learned danish and hear danish you would understand something. And that goes every way with swedish, danish and norwegian.. because they are build on the same. all 3 have the scandinavian culture and language.. danish norwegian and swedish is bassicly just scandinavian dialects.

ofc, but objectively for most norwegian speakers swedish is a lot easier than danish
2019-12-07 23:30
If a norwegian from oslo speaks slow I can understand, but one up from north is not even worth trying. And Danish is impossible for the most sweds to understand.

pff there's no such thing, no language is impossible to learn. also your languages are somewhat similar so it should be even easier for you, it only takes dedication,

maybe the interviewer doesn't speak danish but can do german? or did she talk to the girl in danish as well
2019-12-07 21:15
This is most likely the case, the interviewer knew German and not Danish. Getting answers in a language you don't understand sucks because you can't really establish a connection or ask followup questions
2019-12-07 23:26
Pretty sure the producers wanted her to speak German so that they could highlight it.
2019-12-07 21:16
This is probably the right answer. Karrigan having one Danish parent and one German parent is relevant to his career, since he played in both Danish and German-speaking teams at different points.

2019-12-07 21:17
Maybe she just feels more comfortable speaking german? and also danish sounds like retarded german anyway xaxaxa

2019-12-07 21:23
Or course she speaks Danish.
2019-12-07 21:23
It doesn't matter if she will speak Danish or German, English subtitles will still be needed.
2019-12-07 21:25
she speaks polish but she speaks danish too
2019-12-07 21:26
Irrelevant language, no reason to learn it even living in DK,
2019-12-07 21:40
If she doesn't speak english then it really doesn't matter which language she speaks, they need a translator either way
