You're not getting paid if you just doing bachelor degree stuff. Be a researcher and you'll get paid to study and write.

if you get paid to do it technically it is a job, which is considered work.
2019-12-08 20:02
not really sure what your point is. seems like youre just arguing about semantics

Kind of, your job is to study things and write about it. So perfect combination of both

sure m8 then you don't need to work what delusion do you believe in ? angels will run it? hahahahahahahaha the average entrepurner works more than empoyees go talk to small and middle company owners they work way more than 40h per week only if they succed and would have income, would be able to hire people and delegate task

Very true, currently trying to start off my own 3d printing business while working in a shop, even after I'm tired after work I still find a bit of power and enthusiasm to pack my packages, finish off any parts for sale or model new parts for sale in CAD the feeling is awesome
2019-12-08 07:03
Talking from experience. 80 hour weeks are pretty standard if you have your own business.
2019-12-08 13:47
This is why I would never wanna be a manager or a business owner. You have to take your work home with you. I would much rather be a zombie and do my 8hrs and so long as I keep my head down in those 8hrs, I get paid at the end of the month and DGAF as soon as I get home!
2019-12-08 20:05
everyone is different, and it's not for everyone for sure but overall not a good startegy m8, cuz in a long run entrepreneurship beat the job in logarithmic speed like the 10 years from now you will be either at the same level 1 or 2 level maybe 5 maybe even -1 cuz you didn't improve at all, and the world move one and the enterpurner would be at 1000, 10,000, or even 100,000 level the scale is totatly differernt but might also bankruptcy :D you never know
2019-12-08 20:15
10 years from now, I'll probably be dead so no problem :D

if u want a career in research then u need credentials. The connections a high tier university offers outweigh random ones significantly. That is why oxbridge is labelled as the bridge to politics, because u have a significantly higher chance of getting jobs like political positions coming from oxford or cambridge than you do from just an ordinary university or college

Depends what you do. If something with generally low job prospects then it helps. For business or law it is important. For stem if you want a top job interview ezpz then fine, others just need internships/work experience and then they're in the same boat.
