Brexit, selling nhs, further austerity
2019-12-10 19:03
Selling NHS?
2019-12-10 19:04
A new left-wing meme
2019-12-10 19:05
it isnt a meme, its a real danger. some places have already started doing it. (Channel islands for example)
2019-12-10 19:17
Started doing what?
2019-12-10 19:19
charging for services in hospitals
2019-12-10 19:19
Good
2019-12-10 19:23
No, it's definitely a meme and a bad one at that but the left can;t meme so it's to be expected. The conservative party have been increasing the NHS funding every year. hopefully now that we have left the EU we will have a reduction in people coming over to Britain from the EU to abuse our free health care service which would mean we have more money free to improve it.
2019-12-10 19:19
They may be increasing the NHS funding but it still isnt close to how much was being spent before the 2008 crash +the right cant meme either ,just look at that red bus xD

They make cuts so that they can promise increases next election
2019-12-10 19:25
-EU migrants don't individually "abuse" the NHS, they "use" the NHS -NHS is supported by EU migrants in nursing and doctor roles -Reduction in strain on the NHS doesnt create "more money free," spending will be the same as before, criminally underfunded.

This is nonsense.
2019-12-11 08:07
Is that guy why brexit happened? Cause honestly, as an American, I can’t see why you’d want to leave. Obviously there’s just some stuff Idk, but the Migrant thing he just said sounds like some bs stuff republicans would say abt Mexican immigrants to the US.
2019-12-11 08:48
yup, pretty much. It's a shame that people exist who are so easily lead by the political right and nationalist parties like UKIP into believing all of this xenophobic rhetoric that they spout. Bottom line is there are always enough morons willing to vote against their common interests purely because of some semblance of fear or misplaced trust. Most young people today get their politics from meme culture which is why this guy thinks that selling the NHS off is a meme, there are loads of left and right meme pages all over that just dilute and dumb down the issues for their little echo chamber safe spaces of followers (left or right) that just skews the facts and leads to partially informed people arguing about things that they don't fully understand and have only heard the one side of the argument.
2019-12-11 09:00
K thx. Ik little about UK politics, but a lot abt American politics.

He's one of the main contributors to its promotion, and also one of the people who stand to gain financially from it. The irony is you have anti EU politicians (Nigel Farage) who are MEP (Members of European Parliament) that have been stealing a living for decades and stand to earn a hefty pension after leaving. What will happen is people will "bet" for lack of a better word against the british currency much like american real estate crash where the banks we're betting towards the crash of the dollar. It's much more complicated than this but these rhetoric's that the migrants simply drain our NHS has been debunked time and time again, we benefit so much from immigration in our NHS that its laughable really, 30% of our doctors are migrants and the majority of EU migrants contribute to a small margin of the people draining our NHS simply by the fact of the average age of the EU migrants is much lower than that of your average patient.

Because there is no human thats retarded enough to sell it off, not even Boris and hes pretty retarded.
2019-12-10 19:30
wouldnt be so sure about that bro
2019-12-10 19:33
If you think Boris will sell the NHS then you actually have a mental problem, and I recommend you go and see a doctor immediately.
2019-12-10 19:34
I dont think WILL i think COULD or at least MORE LIKELY TO
2019-12-10 19:35
He wont, come back to this post in 5 years when he hasn't sold the NHS and you'll see im correct.
2019-12-10 19:36
sure, thats probably going to be true
2019-12-10 19:37
The fear is that Boris has been in talks with big pharma companies in the US who are looking to privatise our medications and medical supplies first. In a year or so you'll be going to get a flu shot or a cast put on and you'll get a bill for the needle or the cast or the painkillers when you leave. Trump has explicitly said that the US will be interested in a piece of the NHS when we negotiate a trade deal with them after brexit. As we will need the support of US trade to subsidise the increased costs of trading with europe. Bottom line is we'll either have to give the US what they want (being the NHS) or deal with a huge hit to the economy and the price of everything we buy increasing. Your tesco £3 meal deal will become the tesco £4 meal deal. We cant negotiate from that position because we'll be desperate, so leverage. Here's a video of trump outlying his interest in the NHS, youtu.be/_497Hp_nGz8

boris is just a doll controlled by trump. he must sign a contract with us immediately after they quit eu. so when uk is fighting alone with no option and weapon to fight with us, how can we let go the chance of torturing and squeezing this kingdom? or you can say our big yellow boss is a philanthropist in trade wars.
2019-12-11 08:55
Not much. All parties promising more free shit in the run-up to the vote (the Tories much less than the other parties). BJ most likely still won't be able to get his Brexit deal through because MPs will still vote along non-partisan lines on it, even if he has the majority. Even if he does, the suggestion that there will be a trade deal in place in 12 months time is laughable and incompetent at best, grossly dishonest at worst. The Brexit saga will keep on going for quite a few years still. It's just a distraction but if it means there's another 5 years of Tory government and Labour finally oust Corbyn so that there can finally be a credible and effective opposition then all good.

I actually wouldn't feel dirty voting for Labour if Corbyn was replaced.

you're not voting for personalities you're voting for policies... you dont have to like Jeremy Corbyn to vote for labour.

Well, can't argue with that. You got me.
2019-12-10 19:57
Well, in representative democracies that’s true to an extent. Like trump for instance, is a republican, but he also has a few issues that republicans don’t have issue ownership on. The reason what you said is mostly true is that these are generally smaller things, and not bigger issues like taxes or immigration or guns in the US.
2019-12-11 08:51
in uk they elect particular representatives, not party lists.

How come voting for Corbyn's Labour would make you feel dirty?
2019-12-10 19:19
Because Corbyn is a raging anti-Semite that has actually supported terrorist groups.
2019-12-10 19:21
Anti-zionism isnt the same as anti-semitism
2019-12-10 19:21
I know they aren't the same but Corbyn isn't an anti-Zionist he's an anti-Semite and his party is full of people that are also anti-Semitic which is why it has been investigated by watch dogs that found that it was the case.

Ok, so I've read it and here's what I've gotten out of it: - It's mostly the bloke who wrote it saying Mr. Corbyn and Labour are antisemitic and for the most part not giving any arguments for that. - When he does give arguments ("The issue is about four things.") two of them are pretty vague ("2) Holding Israel’s Jews to a higher standard than the rest of the world. 3) An obsessive focus on Israel for errors that are far worse elsewhere."). I can't see that mural being antisemitic, but that just might be me not having seen much antisemitic propaganda, and if Mr. Corbyn really has endorsed groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas then that is pretty bad, I agree. To me that article hasn't clarified much.

Sure - these facts are well-documented to those who live in the UK and this is why there is no need to cover them again. For example, you can read more here: telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/labour/117..

Tory more than likely but maybe a hung parliament is a possibility too.
2019-12-10 19:01
What will change if the Tories win?
2019-12-10 19:02
More of the same from past 10 years
2019-12-10 19:18
No... because for the past ten years we've been either in the EU or had a hung parliament which means nothing has been able to be done as the conservatives didn't have a majority so nothing could be done but if the conservatives win now, and the only need seven seats more then they have a majority and they can "get brexit done" as they say.
2019-12-10 19:22
I don't imagine much sadly the state of UK politics is just toxic and horrid and will get worse

Tories will with their incomprehensibly hypocritical and ironic promises and complaints, pretending they will be good for the economy and scrutinizing Corbyn, say he will cause debt, whilst simultaneously not realise the worst tenure of any political party for the economy and the country has been the last 9 years of tory government

pffft you retard how old are you? Have you even heard of Thatcher and what labour did to Britain to get her into power? You absolute fucking moron. We had three day work weeks and a crippled economy. Do some fucking research you utter fucking moron.

I'm not reciting pseudo-facts you know, this is objective truth (if you have heard of that you utter fucking moron). We are our closest to a recession since the financial crash, our economy at it's slowest growth in a decade, at least under a labour government we'll spend our economy on public services rather then putting in 800 billion pounds to bail out the banks. Because the tories weakness with our economy and the pounds plummeted value is the start of it- benefits cuts, constant lies, increased homelessness, even more increased rates of child poverty. Guess their policies on social care, benefits and the disabled didn't work out so well. Knife crime, police forces in London were cut when Boris was mayor, the NHS weakened but of course from his empty promises one may assume it's all going to magically change because he is a different leader, a new inept cynical egotist.

Yes because i said Blair was great didn't i? I thought it was a joke that us Brits couldn't understand our own language. I'm not defending a war criminal, but if you want to look at our country and our economy it was certainly much better off in that decade of Labour than in the last decade of the conservatives
