what do you guys think about refugees or immigrants being able to move forward in housing queues before swedes? my friends say they think its good because they have nowhere else to go whereas we swedes can just keep living with our parents. i dont really know how to think about this.

quick question whats homelessness like for swedish citizens
2019-12-11 20:31
what do you mean? how many swedes that are homeless?
2019-12-11 20:33
United States f1shst1ck
yea whats your homeless rate
2019-12-11 20:33
overall like 0.4% or something like that i think but if we only count "real" swedes then i dont know

United States f1shst1ck
personally, fix that first then work with civil and lawful immigrants
2019-12-11 20:38
there are no homeless in Sweden. if you are homeless it's by choice. the government literally gives you / pays for a home (small flat). same in most western european countries.

if they're asylum seekers, then yeah
2019-12-11 20:30
yes they are
2019-12-11 20:31
Reunion 1iquser
how many of them tho? cant the government just kick them into social housing and let them wait?
2019-12-11 20:34
they do that for alot of them. but some gets to move forward in queues so they get an apartment.
2019-12-11 20:35
obviously bad wtf
2019-12-11 20:30
Switzerland hosken
but this "queue" is almost completely random
2019-12-11 20:31
what do you mean? its not. you get in queue and then you wait like 5-10 years to even have a shot at an apartment. some are random and you can "cheat" but most are not random.
2019-12-11 20:32
Switzerland hosken
yes you sign up for an apartment provided by the government and then you'll stay in a "queue" which can be completely random
2019-12-11 20:37
wtf? the queue is not random. if there are like 10 people that have 20 years in queue they will be the ones that can get the apartment. then if you have 5 years only then you wont even get to visit and cant get the apartment.
2019-12-11 20:39
I dont see any problems with legal immigrants or asylum seekers, as all the process is supervised. The problems arises when people come in waves and all of them are illegal. Then chaos sprungs and all foreigners get bad rep.
2019-12-11 20:36
Facts. Northern Brazil knows this because of venezuelans.
2019-12-11 20:53
Yup! I mean, its their fault for wanting to live in - relative - stability? Certainly not! But the fact is that the way they crossed borders created all kinds of confusion and that makes all other Venezuelans ill-spoken. Brazil gets MASSIVE immigration and its an absolute nightmare to deal with it. The country has continental dimensions and it takes forever for something to be done. That said, while I obviously think the government should and must prioritize its own citizens, on the other hand it also needs to provide basic care for those that have no other means to get by. DEF NOT BY PUTTING THEM FIRST IN THE ACCOMODATION LIST THOUGH BTW lol
2019-12-11 22:00
If you think it's good you are crazy. We pay taxes our entire life and they get first social housing before our own citizens who paid taxes their entire life while they don't even work or have paid taxes ever. It's a shame.

2019-12-11 20:50
That's just stupid. I think immigrants should work and rent their own appartment, the state shouldn't waste their money in them. They have to make sure that their own citizens are living in good conditions first, then care about immigrants.
2019-12-11 20:57
"have to" lol no they don't they don't give a shit about their citizens by importing more people thats more heads to tax, theyll also buy more worthless shit so more money for the corporate state...Governemnts do nothing to assist their citizens they practically let them starve a great deal of the time.
2019-12-13 02:50
I cant decide whether its good or not. On one side I think the native population should always come first but on the other hand, the refugees/immigrants are in a much worse situation and the government should try to help them integrate as asap

hahah what? you can obviously get an apartment on your own if you want to but the government can also provide one for you and it will be much cheaper
2019-12-11 21:25
It wont be cheaper since you pay tax, shit system
2019-12-11 21:29
Switzerland hosken
but it would be more if I got an apartment second-hand or if I bought one
2019-12-11 21:34
not sure if these swedes who have to wait a queue to get a flat are more useful to your society than refugees

check if they have a clear criminal record and how they are doing in the welcome/language/education courses. If they are willing to work but them on the queue like every other person. treat every person in the queue the same. the first in order gets the deal and so on. not hard isnt it? fly everyone with a criminal record and bad behavior in welcome/language/education courses straight back home within days! (Military has troop transport planes if there are not enought planes free) they have no passport? ask them where they want to go and fly them there if they can speak one of the languages spoken in that particular country. Try to make a deal with that country and spent some money so they accept the deal, if not fly them to the nearest country with a deal and give them free tickets for a save flight or train home. fix it easy and human for migrants and the home population!!!
2019-12-11 21:36
My family is from all over Europe (Germany, Estonia, Spain and Portugal) and I've lived over there and Brazil. In my experience what you described - about some immigrants not wanting to blend in - is seen everywhere and it makes me angry. I mean, you left you region, which has its own traditions and rules, to move to another region which has its own set of rules. What do you do? You LEARN them. Pay respect to the people and country that you chose to live in. Unfortunately it seems some dont give a f*ck about that, and try to impose their home country beliefs on the local populace. Thats just wrong and a huge aspect of why immigrants get bad rep. Not unjustified in my view. I'm aiming to do my Masters at Finland, Sweden or the Netherlands. However, due to those people I'm concerned about my reception there.

Every person will love you when you show willingness to learn the language and trying to get the best education in your field. You dont have to be perfect just not aggressive and criminal. Best of luck to you my friend!
2019-12-11 22:11
Yup! Totally agree! Thats what I'm aiming for anyway. Either way, thanks for your words =) Hope to be a good immigrant

You seem to be on a good way. Either way you should never forget your own traditions and nobody normal will ask that. But we will love it when you come to a traditional German party for example. Germans really like to talk to people from other countries if they are not agressive and seem to be nice. Women love Brasilians too. I think most applies too to Finland, Sweden or the Netherlands.
2019-12-11 22:18
No, ofc not! I just need to keep in mind that Im not in my own country and that I should respect my host country's rules and own traditions. In fact, I really like it when I'm invited to be a part of something that is traditional of a region! Means people like me and want me to be a part of their traditions, no better way to be a part of a community than this. I hope these countries have the same view as the germans on this though! But it seems to me that they share your point, if anyone trys to be a part of their community and respect their traditions, then they're welcome.
2019-12-11 22:20
I guess they would have interest in Brazilians after the 7x1 episode.

Thanks to idiots, immigrants seeking a good life and to blend in society face some severe racism/xenophobia or racism. And thanks to that, I've given up on my plans of moving to another country to hopefully have a safe life.
2019-12-12 00:02
Yup, sad truth! I'm just going for the sake of education really... I dont think I'll be able to land a job despite having EU-nationality, due to the fact im brazilian. But it is what it is

Is it just for refugees or is it also for immigrants? One of your replies seems to contradict that it's for both.
2019-12-11 21:35
The problem isn't really the refugees/immigrants, the problem is the amount of people that need help, the pressure is too much for any country to handle.
2019-12-11 22:25
citizens first
2019-12-13 02:41
no refugees or migrants should be accepted, and all should be sent back. /close
