+1 AUG+Krieg abusers at a time when their toughest "competition" were 1v9 zywoo and ENCE lul Astralis just took a holiday after Katowice.
2019-12-12 07:57
Id like to see the dates. How close were some of those Liquid wins. If its a 3 month span and astralis has done it for longer periods of the year then its debatable. Looks even on paper. Id probably rather have the 2 majors tbh.
2019-12-12 05:51
But it's the same competition for every event pretty much if you didn't care about names and only looked at events Liquid has clearly done better this year. On the other hand, Astralis has won 2 Majors......
2019-12-12 05:54
You can't win every event, it's mentally not possible to be focused that long. Csgo events are waaaaay to often, you have to delegate. I'd say astralis delegated better. I also know they didn't attend a lot of events this year, that's another reason they have less. Astralis had the better year for me, but liquid had a nice few months. My opinion.
2019-12-12 07:28
NAF said its Astralis year. Astralis > Liquid.

Intel Grand slam is harder than 2majors... Requires to be good for a period of time and if you lose 2 events in it you are out. Attending all the events winning them is harder

true, but majors carry more weight i think. especially winning back to back, requires a decent period of time in which you're on top, same with grand slam.
2019-12-12 06:48
If grand slam is tougher tha the major then why did liquid fail to a single major?

I really like.how u are sugarcoating liquid's run and giving them every possible advantage lmao. Here is reality : 1. Liquid won 7 tournaments not 8 this year. Astralis won 6 2. IGS doesn't matter , because not every tournament counts as Intel grand slam. Looking at the number of tournaments won , liquid only won 1 more. 3. Liquid won 4 of those events without astralis or even Navi playing , facing trash like g2 or fnatic etc in the finals and still having close games. Astralis dominated in all the tournaments they won, and lqiuid was playing most of those events. and astralis have the upper hand over Liquid in head to heads. 5. Liquid had a few bad runs, like not making top 4 at both majors. Astralis managed to make top 4 in most events they played. Maybe at epl s8 they didn't , I don't remember Right now , astralis > liquid. But who takes the cake depends on who wins blast
2019-12-12 07:52
Nah, even if Liquid wins Blast, Astralis had the better year.
2019-12-12 08:32
Facts. But Liquid is a close second.

2019-12-12 06:05
I just looked at it lol 2 of the big events are majors so its only 3 big events + 2 majors why you stupid.....
2019-12-12 06:07
A major is a big event, if you didn't realize yet... majors are in fact by far the most prestigious and important tournaments of the year. You remember major winners, you don't remember some random IEM or DreamHack winner. NAF_FLY: "It's tough to say, but I honestly think, at the end of it, this was yet again another Astralis year. They played great, two Majors, that's huge."
2019-12-12 06:09
Ok, you still don't understand if your gonna class a major under a big event like you did before saying they won 5 big events in which they did you cant add a + 2 majors after it lol.
2019-12-12 06:11
Of course I can and I did. I wrote 'Astralis 5 Big Events, 2 Majors' and its precise. Only an autistic child wouldn't understand a major is in fact, a big event... 2019-12-12 08:31
Most of Astralis' wins, Liquid was the rival but most of Liquid's wins , there was no Astralis because they want to have break. After their break, they won a major and continue their good form
2019-12-12 06:03
They played them 3 times its not like they werent there for all of the tournaments they won plus astralis sometimes dropped out to other teams before they even got to Liquid
2019-12-12 06:08
Astralis went on breaks because of there shit performance so if Liquid played Astralis during there time it would be 16-0
2019-12-12 06:09
Liquid took a break and they are shit now.
2019-12-12 14:10
Astralis had a break due to them having a lackluster performance if Astralis played Liquid in that time easy dump in face. OLD comment send weird ....

2019-12-12 06:06
Well liquid player more events. You have to remember Astralis skipped a lot of events this year
2019-12-12 06:08
They skipped events to prac more to get better results ........ No excuses

2019-12-12 09:04
You're a spaz. I not saying pracing or having a break is bad. I'm saying if Astralis choose to prac more and attend fewer events it shouldn't matter if Liquid attended more events as Astralis needed more prac to win events. If Liquid did that don't you think they would have better results. Resulting in fewer events attended. Germany zero scene.
2019-12-12 09:10
Liquid was more consistent but Astralis had a higher peek with the 2 majors

depends on how much you value majors. I'd say Astralis had a better year because they won the 2 most prestigious events of the year. You could also argue that ESL One Cologne is the most prestigious event to have won and I wouldn't call you dumb for saying it. I know most people are against it but I'd like to have one big international csgo event just so I personally have more interest in watching again because we shouldn't have to argue about what events are bigger than others.

Much as I love Liquid I have to give it Astralis. Liquid had a goon run (not an era since Astralis was not always present). Astralis also had 2 major wins (in my opinion the most prestigious tournament where the top teams played). GG WP Astralis hope Liquid gets to beat you maybe once more before the year ends! ;)
2019-12-12 07:09
Astralis was not present because there were in a slump and pracced

Ofc Liquid won more tournaments by fluke when they went to many more. Makes very good sense since teams like Astralis and NaVi didn't attend many events as them.*

liquid also missed one playoffs at a tournament and liquid are going 19/20 and astralis are going 13/15 in playoffs liquid are also going 8/20 in wins and astralis are going 5/15 in wins to clear up your wrong statement giving liquid a 40% tournie win rate and astralis 33% and playoff apperances being liquid at 95% and astralis at 86% meaning liquid had the better stats the only thing right about that whole statement is astralis won both majors convincingly

The biggest problem to argument Liquid dominance still remains though: "Where's the Major?"
2019-12-12 09:56
Liquid had a chance to make this their year by winning a Major, unfortunately for them, they did not make it and once again the year is Astralis.
