no days were darkest at tsm esl one cologne, I cried when they lost inferno and then I cried again 3 years later when they lost inferno agaisnt navi :(
2019-12-15 03:42
dignitas 2014 -> i like, this was when they started making their mark (though i didnt watch their dignitas days since i started with TSM) tsm 2015 -> i also like, they were top 3 team and a huge threat and could handle (and consistently beat) fnatic during their era astralis 2016 -> chokestralis days sucked astralis 2017 -> when they won major this was amazing, great year until device had health issue but dennis astralis was very cool i really enjoyed that astralis 2018/19 -> pretty proud of what they've done and i'm glad to be their fan

2019-12-14 19:42
"but when u look at skill an other factors" which factors? skill is so overused on this site just like "raw skill" but it means literally nothing. dev1ce is goat in csgo if we consider pretty much all aspects together like relevancy, consistency, stats, individual awards, achievments and peak. tell me 1 player that should be considered as goat instead of him based on those criterias...

2019-12-14 21:10
S1mple is easily more deserving. Yes device has accomplished 10x more but that doesn’t mean he is the best (player) of all time. Almost every single anylist will say that S1mple is the greatest player of all time. I also guarantee that EVERY single player on astralis will say that S1mple is the greatest player of all time. The only people that won’t are delusional fans or Brazilians that still think cold was the greatest of all time.

I don't even remember s1mple playing on LANs in 2019, lmfao. s1mple is also nowhere near as consistent as device. I disagree, but to each his own.
2019-12-14 21:24
S1mple played nearly just as much as zywoo and Dev1ce also missed a large amount of tournaments this year also. I don’t think that how many tournaments you play in during a small portion of your career should affect if your the best of all time.
2019-12-15 17:25

Nope, analysts would say hes the most skilled or talented player, not the GOAT. Same way there are quarterbacks in the NFL better than Brady but none can take the GOAT title from him because they lack achievements necessary
2019-12-15 01:08
I am Ukrainian and I do think device is goat of cs go. Won everything and is super consistent. There are literally no other players with so many hltv top20/top5 appearances. Simple was top1. But cold, olof, gtr were as well. But fucking noone was as consistent as device is. Besides that. There are so many things that u cant see in the stats, like - teamplay abilities, nades usage, brain plays, spacing, how good do u stick to the tactic, etc. We are shooting in this game for 5-10 seconds of the 2 min round. Stats mean nothing. Stats - is just a one criteria. Device is easily goat of this game. 15 mvps btw.
2019-12-15 01:15
there are 2 different things...the best/most skilled/talented/whatever of all time and the greatest of all time. the best of all time is probably only about something like skill and individual peak and in that case i wouldnt put dev1e even in top3 most likely but the greatest of all time is also about other aspects(which i mentioned above)

Well in CS sure but as an organization not even close man. Depends how you want to argue this point. By total prize winnings? by most tournaments attended? By longevity? By overall brand width (how many games they cover). esportsearnings.com/teams This link will show you the list of top team earnings and # of tournaments attended. Liquid as an organization is huge across most games. Astralis is just CS? (and they collaborate with OG in league of legends) So if you're saying they are the greatest "esports" organization or even team ever you haven't done your research.
2019-12-14 18:54
+1 also is rank based on the earnings or the tournament count they actually win?

The international is much more prestigious than any csgo major (probably on par with Lol's Worlds). And dota' scene is more competitive than csgo's.
2019-12-14 23:22
SKT won consecutive Worlds, 3 total Worlds in 4 years and were the best team in the world for 3 years straight (2015-2017). They have been the best team in the world at several other occasions, there is no esports org which has achieved as much as team. Astralis CSGO and OG D2 are good, but they are nowhere close to SKT. It's not even a contest...
2019-12-14 21:12
which game is that :D?
2019-12-14 21:14
League... which just happens to also be the most competitive Esport. I mean don't get me wrong, I watch more CS, but the stats speak for themselves. League has more than 10 times as many players as CS/Dota, there are also over 10 times as many pro players and the salaries are several times larger. I don't think it's fair to even consider any other team as competing with SKT when they have dominated LoL for 4 years (2013 and 2015-2017) and achieved everything there is to achieve. Astralis is amazing, but they have only had one year which can be compared to SKT's 3 dominant years. This year was Astralis's, but not as convincingly when compared to SKT in League.
2019-12-14 21:17
I cant argue with that cuz I dont even understand LoL ^^ do you know how many tournemants they have won? and also how many the played circa?
2019-12-14 21:17
LoL is formatted very differently. Each region has their own league twice a year. Comparable to football (or soccer for Americans) but then one ''split'' for spring, one for summer. The winner of each region's spring split goes to MSI, the first international tournament of the year. The winner of each region's summer split goes to the World Championship, as well as the 2nd place from the biggest regions and the team who plays through an extra qualifier. Total there are 24 teams per World Championship. SKT has won: - 6x LCK Champions (Korean regional league, regarded as the best of all). - 2x MSI Champions - 3x World Champions You have to consider the magnitude of course. A worlds title is more impressive than a major title considering the qualification process is an entire 3 month league and each region's top teams attend. It's a once a year event. The entire playoffs is BO5 as well. MSI is very similar to worlds. Winning those tournaments can never be a fluke. Of course, 6 LCK titles is equal to three years worth of regional dominance in the most competitive region, but imo it's more impressive that those titles span over 6 different years, they won both this year. SKT's success is that they have in many instances won those leagues and tournaments with insane win ratios. In 2015 they won the World Championship only dropping a single game in the final, they went 15-1 in total against the best in the world. Hope that explains their situation, it should be noted that aside from those international titles, they have also been finalists in MSI and Worlds without winning once each.

we have a big League of Legends fanboy here, i bet that you fap to Sneaky cosplays, btw SKT is so great that they lost to a team that got destroyed at the finals
2019-12-14 22:52
No one said it had to be the greatest current esports team. I am a fan of esports in general, I value all of the big esports equally and follow them all. I don't force you to share my opinion, but I will say that as someone who follows so many esports, I personally believe SKT is, without any competition, the greatest esports team of all time.

what about OG then, 4 majors and 2 TI's
2019-12-15 00:26
Well, it's hard to compare since the format of League is so different. Worlds and TI are very comparable, so lets equate those. Slightly in SKT's favor with 3 to 2. I'd say 2 MSI titles are comparable to 2 Majors in terms of importance. 6 LCK titles, in my opinion, outweighs two majors. The deciding factor for me is not necessarily the titles. When we look at esports in the modern era (2012~), we've never really seen a team like SKT. In CS we've seen Fnatic, NiP, Astralis and SK lead whole years, or even TWO years in the game's scene. In Dota 2, OG can be said to have been that for two years. SKT isn't like that... they were the best overall team in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In 2019, they were definitely a top 3 team, bested only by G2 and FPX. SKT's 2015-2017 ''dynasty'' can be considered equal to OG's or Astralis's, I won't deny those are equal. What sets them apart for me is the fact that they were also the very best in 2013 and are still, today, 6 years after their first success in League, one of the best teams in the world. eague isn't Dota or CS. If there were as many international tournaments in League, SKT might have ended the year as the best team again. Unfortunately for them, they were bested in semis both times. Even as a G2 fan, I can say that SKT is the more consistent and probably better team. Either way, that's why I consider them the best esports team of all time. They've had a dominant reign for 2-3 years just like Astralis and OG, but aside from that have been the very best at a different period in time and are still at the verge of returning to that again. 6 years is a very long time to be on top.

When we are talking about the best esport team we are talking about the team of 5 players or the core of players right ? not the org , from what i know SKT has won their worlds titles and i assume their LCK titles with different roasters and alot of different players can you then call them the best esport team of all time when their team is basically Faker
2019-12-15 00:52
That was multiple different teams though. They said best team not best org.
2019-12-15 00:43
Are we talking core? If Faker + Wolf + Bang can be considered a team then I'd still make my case for them, although it'd be a much closer contest. That's 4 LCK titles + 2 MSI + 2 Worlds titles. League is a lot more volatile than Dota/CS in terms of meta changes to be honest, an entire playstyle can become irrelevant from one year to the next. I'd say it's unfair to compare a full CS lineup to a full League one. There is no full League team which has ever succeeded (or probably ever will) for so many years, due to the volatility.
2019-12-15 00:50
Core of 3 plus might count. It's hard to compare esports with open circuit to leagues SKT may have won more or lost more with more international competition.

ok in that case I'm going with OG from dota 2.

OG is more like a fluke compared to the legend that is Astralis, although they earned more money

a team started from open qualifiers competing against thousands of team, then played in regional to finally get invite from TI and won it after many years finally. And then broke the "dota 2 curse" which were: 1. There is no team has won 2 TIs; 2. TI champions would take turn as World, China, World, China.. for 8 years in a row; And became back to back champions. Org started 2 new teams (cs:go, dota academy) literally within 1 month I don't see any fluke here.

2019-12-15 00:51
They had a good year and almost won everything but failed in finals. Hard to gauge a league vs open circuit.

SKT Fnatic Liquid OG It has to be one of those
2019-12-14 22:48
Probably Fnatic, has major titles in almost all competitive games Liquid is good and SKT is mainly League and OG is the SKT of Dota
2019-12-14 23:08
They are orgs not individual teams. Best org in history has to be fnatic.

2nd place at esl one cologne 2016 1st place ti7 and 2nd place at ti9 Player like hungrybox keep winning tournament They are the esports team to earn the most prize money
2019-12-16 04:58
Highest winnings is always going to be skewed by more recent events as prize pool keeps going up. Fnatic majors were only $250,000 prize pool which they only got 100,000.

'' best esports team '' with only a csgo team lol ok

You can't be the best esports org with one team. My short list is Faze, Liquid and G2. Sustained excellence and a willingness to outlay cash money to make their teams better. Astralis runs a great CSGO team but we've never seen them scout talent or do big buyouts. All that is still way unknown for them at this point. In another five or ten years we'll be able to judge them against the G2's and Liquid's of the world. The funny thing is in 2018 I'd have said C9 was on this list. Coming off a top 4 at worlds, a CSGO major, champion of OWL. Great year. Now they are just another org with a giant building making cheap gambles on unknown players.
2019-12-14 23:48

Dota OG team that won with same players 2 times in a row TI is the better team then. Astralis won 2 majors with different players.

Best E-sports team ever is OG because of dota2 back to back TI winners, Astralis have much easier way to major wins than OG ever had on TI

no, don't compare doka 2 to real esports. In doka 2 they change game almost completely every year, additionally they have minor competition compared to cs go, essentially all what players do is milking ti avoiding any other big tournaments and sometimes even so called majors. put OG against current "top" teams will they win? hell no, if fact they loose to no name mixes at the moment, doka 2 is only about TI show, not a real esport anymore.

pro scene? I just told you there is no real pro in doka 2, only TI event 1 time per year where we see same 12 filler teams and 6 somewhat prepared. I never ment abusing OP stuff as a bad thing. It was always part of dota, called meta, in every meta there are broken heroes that always will be perma pick/ban. Thats not the reason why doka 2 is shit now. The reason why its shit is valve decisions to change game way too much to the point that your experience is negated, and second reason is again valve decision to completely monopolize esport market which led to poor pro scene.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
