european union when disband??
2019-12-15 01:17
I doubt they will disband. They will probably rebrand though.
2019-12-15 01:21
dignitas will sign european union roster
2019-12-15 01:22
Hope they change their logo first though.
2019-12-15 01:22
I thought theyre signing nato
2019-12-15 01:31
Nato has good firepower but awful chemistry. EU has bad firepower and mediocre chemistry, they are absolutely amazing at trading though.
2019-12-15 01:32
Trading is important but it and also their firepower will be worse as UK leaves.

(I love the EU don't get me wrong) That's not really true. Yes, increased trading and globalism meant peace and stability which the EU certainly has contributed with but it's not like we would likely have gotten more war in western europe without the EU in its current form. I remember going to a summit at the yepp and we discussed the topic regarding free interrail cards for every 18-year old in the EU. When I told them it was a terrible idea, some portugese dude said to me "Markus, do you want war in europe? We need a more generous eu so that the young people will like us. This will prevent war in europe!"

It's obviously good for peace and trade power, but it needs some reforms to limit their influence in member states. I can't remember where, but I saw a poll that indicated that almost every single country within the EU thinks the EU controls too much of their domestic politics. I strongly believe that's the general view.

No. They are potential candidates, and they made big advances in several fields for many years in the early 2000s, but they were still quite far away on many chapters. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accession_of_Turke.. (Click "show" at Past Assessments) Now under Erdogan I would say that North Korea has as big a shot at becoming an EU member state as Turkey. Even if Turkey was somehow completely reformed under a government that valued a free market, personal freedoms, freedom of the press and have the proper infrastructure of all their sectors, it would still take an absolute miracle if they would be granted membership of the EU in our lifetime. Now that Erdogan is doing a good job at tarnishing the country's progress and development, much like in Iran, I seriously doubt we will see any change in political sides. Their government even pursued a partnership with Russia because they knew that their acts during(and post-) the fake Coup d'état, would make them enemies of western European values. Threatening to release all of their refugees, including terrorists, into Europe certainly hasn't helped.. not to mention them interfering in German and Dutch affairs, or attacking our allies in Syria.

Great in many ways. Working together has brought a lot of progress to the members and many benefits to the people of the member states. Some examples: - Peace. Countries trading and working together has made Europe a lot peaceful than in the past. - Free movement. As a citizen it is not only easy to travel one can more to live, work and even retire in another member country. - As a union we have a much easier time to get good trade deals with other nations outside the EU. - A lot has been to lift up the countries which was or are not doing so well, especially countries that was stuck being the iron curtain have gotten a huge boost and that also goes for Greece, Ireland and in many countries regions that have had a hard time also have been given help.

One could argue that Greece would have gone state bankrupt without the EU and in particular Germany bailing them out. I understand that you tried to seem smart, but directing the cause of the financial crisis, which had its roots in the US real estate bubble and various independent banks, to the EU is quite simply moronic.
2019-12-15 01:43
Meaning what. The country is doing a lot better thanks to the EU than it would otherwise. It would have been a Russian holiday resort by now, had it not been for all the money the EU has put into the country. It could have been ever better if the Greeks had managed their nation in a sensible way, but instead their politicians basically kept buying votes using unrealistic economic benefits.

kek, Denmark is constantly getting fucked by EU tradedeals
2019-12-15 01:36
What makes you say that? Be specific. We benefit a lot from the easy trade with the rest of the EU and also by the deals the EU has with countries else where. Just look at our import/export and you will see.

Here's the thing about the EU for me; I sympathize a lot with the project in general. Trying to make a stable and secure foundation for countries to live in harmony together. Helping elevate Eastern Europe to the standards of western Europe in terms of income, infrastructure, businesses etc. I see it as a social project, trying to make us all more equal so it doesn't matter if you live in Slovakia or France but get the same opportunities everywhere. That's far from success yet but as long as we move in that direction I'm all in favor of it. I like the idea that our populations mingle with eachother, moves back and forth across borders with the least amount of hassle possible and that our laws are somewhat streamlined a bit. That's the sales pitch atleast. It doesn't always work that way though and it can easily become the corporate union instead of the social union I want to see. Some rules and regulations from the EU is straightup dumb at times, while others make lots of sense. I'm all in favor of the EU as long as we focus on equalizing the financial and social dimensions of our countries. I'm not always in favor of how corporate minded EU is but overall I think it's a good and worthwhile partnership among our nations. If you are young and wanna go around Europe do check EU's Interrail sponsorship. This year thousands of 18 year olds got free interrail passes paid by the EU to tour around Europe and soak it all in. I bet they're gonna do the same next year and I for one don't mind seeing my taxes actually going to something like that.

2019-12-15 01:48
You are right, but...
2019-12-15 01:50
Ukraine has nothing to bring to the table anyway. Europe been sending "charity" money to Ukraine when they had conflict with the ruskis, and where did that money go? right into politicians pockets. Corrupted shits have nothing to do in the EU. That includes fewer more countries that are already in the EU.
