RANK BROKEN ?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?
 |
United States GrandNagusZek
Liquid was best team this year (they achieved most & won most prize money) and yet somehow European HLTV site favorites european players that didn't achieve anything compared to Liquid and give them high rank because they got good stats with exit-fragging and baiting but couldn't achieve anything in tournaments... Can it be more biased ranking for europeans?

Astralis was way better than Liquid last year, proof: The 5 most stacked events of 2019, as confirmed by HLTV, were the 2 majors, EPL S10, Cologne and DreamHack Masters Malmö. Let's look at Liquid's placements in the most stacked events of the year compared to Astralis. Liquid: 9-12th Malmö 5-8th Katowice Major 5-8th Starladder Major 5-6th EPL S10 1st Cologne Astralis: 3-4th Cologne 3-4th Malmö 3-4th EPL S10 1st Katowice Major 1st Starladder Major

major? if winning major give you magically top1 place in that then where was Cloud9 year and Gambit year? I don't remember them getting top1 place in HLTV year ranking in end of year (major is just big tournament among others, no harder win it that any other big tournament) You jealous europeans can't admit that we were better, we achieved most and we won most prize money and we won Intel Grand Slam in World Record Time = GOAT

Astralis two Majors this year Liquid zero Majors this year Intel grand Slam? Wow, so Just because Intel gives Out loads of Cash means that deserve top 1. No, you dont get Top1 instantly If you won a Major, but winning two and having a great year gives it to you rather than Liquid who had a great start but then sucked in the end and choked when the Most prestigous Tournaments came.

10x harder win Intel Grand Slam in World Record time than winning two big tournament (and if we count all big tournament, Liquid was clearly best) & didn't won 7 tournaments in row? how many did astralis?
2020-01-16 17:57
These are the finals for Liquids "Record Intel Grand Slam": 2x Ence 1x Fnatic 1x G2 1x Vitality Literally all these teams were unstable / making roster changes. Such a high quality finals for each event! Only Pro league and Cologne were a top quality event. The rest were useless.

you should learn read, ONE liquid player said it was Astralis year, 4/5 thought differently, 4/5 > 1/5
2020-01-16 17:59
You should learn to understand the world. Do you believe NAF would go out and comment on 2019 being Astralis's year, if 4 other players thinks it is Liquids year?

You should grow up and learn that every player have personal opinion, they are not like Borg who have collective opinion NAF, said he was worried its Astralis year again (because HLTV is european site), but 4 others didn't agree

Dude, he said _PERSONAL OPINION_ that he is afraid HLTV give it to Astralis Personal opinion doesn't isn't opinion of group Others didn't agree, they thought that they deserved it and didn't comment obvious thing I give you 0/8 for not understanding different of personal comment and teams official disclosure
2020-01-17 15:47
I give u 0/8 for not understanding 2019 was astralis year. H2H 9 astralis VS 3 liquid. 2 majors astralis Same amount of event wins(but astralis played less events) Astralis longer HLTV #1 Liquid didnt even finish the year in top 3. Have fun in 2020 when astralis gonna continue their domination. But I guess you will, bc you are so butthurt you probably even think 2018 was Liquids year as well.

Like countless have already told you, H2H doesn't count, its count who is most successful during year and who won most prize money Your logic is like that if F.C. Copenhagen win once FC Barcelona, they are better than FC Barcelona? hahaha Its same in every sport, only danish/european fanboys can't accept reality were we are best and goat
2020-01-17 16:21
Bro it's alright. I have read other articles where astralis is numba 1, you can't find one where they think it's liquid. Only liquid fans. Haha, nice comparison. No if FCK won once, they be lucky. But if real Madrid met Barcelona 12 times during a season and won 72% of the matches i would maybe believe real Madrid had the edge. Take care now.

There were several articles at 2019 telling how Liquid is number, including many HLTV ones "Haha, nice comparison. No if FCK won once, they be lucky." finally you understand, Astralis was lucky, Liquid was most successful team this year and they did it with skill and deserved it
2020-01-17 20:14
How the hell would liquid players go out and justify it being their year, when h2h 2019 is 9 astralis wins and 3 liquid wins? You are a moron

h2h has really nothing at all to do with whose year it was. Only wins and consistency count. It was Astralis' year. But not because of their h2h vs Liquid lol

When two teams are above others, h2h is quite a good factor to take a look at. I mean could you call one team better when they have 25% winrate against the other one?
2020-01-17 12:10
#59
 |
Germany naeqode
yes, you could actually if that team only ever loses to that specific other team and beats everyone else and wins every LAN whereas the other team never wins anything and only beats the winning team. h2h doesnt define your success as a team.

True but that's not what I said. H2h should be highly valued factor when there is no clear advantage on any side. If there are two teams with exceptional results but still one has 75% winrate against the other one it's clear to me which one is better.

its way too cirumstancial as well. When Astralis started doing bad mid 2019 they just skipped like 5 big events to try and fix themselves. Had they attended those in their form at the time they likely wouldve lost to Liquid, like they did at EPL and the h2h wouldve been less lopsided. Liquid on the other hand attend every event, even if they suck. Plenty of chances for Astralis to farm h2h's. Its just not a good measurement. It was Astralis year cos they got their shit together for both majors and had a very good closing quarter. H2h has very low relevance there.

Astralis prioritized majors. My bet is at worst they would end up with 35-40% winrate H2h against Liquid in tournaments they skipped, which would led to Liquid not winning so much, and that would led to Astralis have clear advantage at the end of the year (so 2h2 stats would be irrelevant). I know all of this is speculation but so is thinking Astralis wouldn't win any tournament they did not attended. They won enough to be considered best team of the year, H2h and Major results are on their side. Still Liquid had impressive year and if they would pull of something crazy at the end of the year they would be top1.
2020-01-17 14:51
In this case i believe it has it's value. 1. Bc it is so much in favor of astralis 2. Bc 6 of their event wins was without astralis present.

Astralis lack of presence during those events was due to them attempting to find themselves and fix their game. Had they attended those events with their form at the time, they wouldve lost to Liquid regardless, in part also cos Liquid was insane individually. Theres nothing that would indicate that Astralis had what it took to beat Liquid during those 3 months or whatever it was. They simply werent that good during that period. Had they attended all those events rather than staying home to fix themselves the h2h would likely be less drastic in favour of Astralis. Only once they fixed their shit they started to attend LANs again and beat everyone.
2020-01-17 12:53
Yea, hard to say. Competition during their 3 month spree wasnt the greatest.

x.xx = average number of attending teams Astralis won: Berlin Major - 16 team, 9.50 Katowice Major - 16 team, 11.06 ECS Season 8 Finals - 8 team, 10.25 IEM Beijing - 8 team, 15.13 BLAST Pro Series São Paulo - 6 team, 4.33 BLAST Pro Series Global Final - 4 team, 5.50 Liquid won: ESL One Cologne - 16 team, 11.75 DreamHack Masters Dallas - 16 team, 18.75 ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals - 16 team, 20.31 IEM Sydney - 16 team, 26.31 IEM Chicago - 8 team, 13.50 BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles - 6 team 57.00 so Liquid won more relevant events but Astralis has two majors, hard to tell but imo Astralis has slight edge

Geeeeeeeeez, shut the fuck up... we won grand slam in world record time... we won most money... we won 7 tournaments... is that all you got? Astralis won 2 majors and several tournaments along to it plus they fucked up LULquid in like 85% of their matches mostly bo3. And your fun team got negative points for Stewpid2k screaming as 10yo kid :) btw. Astralis let them take the grand slam, so NA can be proud of something in csgo finally, Glaive told me. He also said, that they were playing with configs of the other players in their team in every tournament which was included in grand slam points so there will be a competition for them finally :)
