Does your HS rate makes you better?

So if someone had a higher head shot rate than a another player who has the same k/d and rating as the other guy(btw, lets consider both of them as riflers), would that make him a better player than the other guy who has low head shot rate?

u missing key factor which is some people style better suited for CT side (which uses m4 = lesser kills with HS) than T side. Or they might be in a team and on most maps they play positions that simply allow for mor HS's to occur. So answer to question is: its impossible to tell if its a <10% difference, but even if it is a big difference, I would personally say no, as long as you are getting the kill it doesnt matter

Ct’s can still get a kill by shooting the body first and finishing the enemy by shooting his head. But yea.

If you play csgo a lot u will realize that most M4 shots start to the head and then transfer to spray (crosshair goes down). This is the easiest way of getting a kill.

Yea, but there is many ways you can play with m4. Such as how astralis does. They aim at the body first and finish the enemy from gis head.

Most people start at head and transfer to spray. I will have to look closer at "astralis" to see if what you say is true
2020-01-16 19:27
When they spray through smoke, they start lower first

well if you start spraying through smoke thats a different scenario
2020-01-16 21:26
I mean Astralis do it much more often and noticeably... their logic behind it is that it has higher chance to hit, and they might as well damage their opponents instead of sealing no damage at all.

exactly. not really the same scenario as when you see your opponent (and he sees you)

Also keep in mind that, since Astralis is a good team in general, they will share information on who/how low enemies are mid-round, so sometimes its better to aim at body first with M4 even if you could go for head. + Shots from behind should usually aim for back because csgo is weird and its easy to miss HS from behind

Agreed, it depends on the skin
2020-01-16 21:05
kill is kill, doesnt matter how u get them. but, if someone is not awping and has under 55% hs rate in pugs, he is just shit. on faceit for example kd doesnt tell much. 1. soloq player going for entries. 1.2 kd 2. 5 stack noob who cant get win a duel without support flash. 1.2 kd first player is obviously way more skilled.
2020-01-16 19:16
what if someone who doesnt awp has 1.7 kd but 32% hs rate?
2020-01-16 19:16
unlikely
2020-01-16 19:16
That's not my question, swedish friend. That is not. I'll repeat my question: what if someone who doesnt awp has 1.7 kd but 32% hs rate?
2020-01-16 19:17
not possible.
2020-01-16 19:17
It is.
2020-01-16 19:18
if you have such garbage hs rate, you wont win enough duels to have 1.7 kd. the only case i can imagine is that someone is smurfing in really low elo where getting kills mainly through spraying isnt punished.

+1... I always had smaller HS rate in 2.9k elo average (under 45%) compared to most players, but then again most players in faceit are trash HS hunters who don't focus on getting the kill but more looking good doing so. I can easily be 1.7+ kd in 2.5k elo but when u face 3k+ and u get tilted with shit teammates u just stop caring
2020-01-16 19:24
I totally agree with you.
2020-01-16 19:37

No, very bad I average 90-115% in hs pct.

It probably means one has better aim, while the other has better spray.

In a straight aim duel I guess the higher headshot guy would come out on top. So many variables. Is the guy with lower headshot percentage taking longer to kill an enemy in scenarios where their teammate is dying? Could the guy with the high % of headshots have killed the guy faster thus saving his teammate?

shouldn't matter. compare twistzz to other pros, he has slower time to damage compared to other top 20 players but higher headshot %
2020-01-16 19:16
Headshot hit with m4 doesn't recognize it being a hs
2020-01-16 19:19
not at all
2020-01-16 19:20
Last game I played, I had 90% hs but 10 kills, so I'm a pro player now?

But imagine finishing a comp game 15-15 or something like 16-14. At the end, you can see who has higher hs rate and higher kills.
2020-01-16 19:31
I got your point dont worry, but AWP can play a factor as well, I thinks it's more how you got the kills. Did you bait it teammates or did you win an entry duel. So no hs% isn't a thing that makes you above others, it's how you get the kills. If you get 10 entry kills but no HS and an other guy got 10kills all midround all hs... First guy is better

2020-01-16 21:11
tbh the headshot percentage in csgo is not great example because it only counts HS kills. I often have lower HS percentage just because I dink the enemy with m4 by first shot and the second that kills him does hit him to a neck or chest
2020-01-16 21:14
There’s not enough information to tell

Ok, lets think that there is two riflers in your team that is getting same amount of kills while doing many things for your team(such as entry fragging, smoking places and trying to do his job). But, one of these guys has a higher hs rate than the another(guess that one of them has 35% hs rate and the other has 55% hs rate). Do you think the one who entry fragges and creates for the space is better or the one who has higher hs rate that puts hus life in a danger for other things that his team needs to do?

dont think it matters at all.. lets say you're trying to tradefrag someone and you know hes like 50hp, its imo more consistant to go for 2 bodyshots instead of head and then whiffing and getting yourself killed aswell

No imo, for example xyp9x has low hs rate but that doesn't make him a worse player than anyone

I always aim for the head and honestly I wish I didn't it costs me more often than not, 58% HS
