I only use earbuds which work only in one year since any better isn't necessary when playing against only bots.

I’ve been using HyperX Cloud Flight for over a year and it’s great (it’s wireless btw) I also use it for my PS4 and one charge is enough for the whole day Would totally recommend. it’s really comfy it doesn’t hurt even for wearing them like 10 hours straight But one of the flaws is that you have to switch the dongle between Pc and PS4 all the time and u can’t have 2 of them

Nah bruv, the mics HyperX uses in their headphones are really not very good, especially for their price. They're abot average whan talking about gaming headsets though

G430 was my best headset so far. G433 isn't terrible either, but basically the same price as the 430 so not worth buying
2020-01-17 05:23
Oh yeah, and the mic is decent too for a headset one, just checks tests for it

tbh i had g430 and.. didn't like them at all
2020-01-17 11:53
What was your problem with it? Mine worked perfectly, good mic, great sound and good quality for its price

well, it's not that i had an actual problem but tldr story is Bought g430 for 100€(yeah, overpriced af), used them for roughly a month, they were indeed 7.1 so that's like one good thing but sound quality was not as good as expected(yes it was fine, but let's say that switching from random 50$ chineese headsets to g430 didn't make a whole lot of difference in terms of quality), cable even through it was braided it was too thin and it still could've get quite messy (i.imgur.com/KUHLzFj.jpg after 2 weeks), and it didn't really have any special features(mic on off and volume control, that's all..) with all that said... after 1 month my hyperx revolver s came(ordered it 6 months ago at the time, it never really arrived so i kinda gave up on the order) and well... the overall quality of revolver is superior to g430 in every possible way... so giving 100€ for that is not just worth it and a side note: plastic part on g430 which got screws in it, the part which is kinda connected to the headband adjustment literally cracked on it's own, the headset was "standing aside" for like 2 months since I wasn't using it anymore and that part just cracked.. on the both sides
2020-01-17 15:34
Well I mean these could be just problems with a specific headset. They make it in chine, by plastic, so its obviously not gonna be as good in quality as a Sennheiser for example. That said, what I like about mine is that it was 60€ (yes, hungary is cheap) so it was a great bargain. Mine broke when I threw it on my chair out of rage, which was kinda surprising since I saw stewie2k and Tyler1 throw it and neither broke (Tyler throws it around all the time and stewie has that clip saying "what is this game broo" when he throws it) So yeah, I can understand why you are saying that, and I think if you had bought it for the same price as me you would have been more then satisfied

for the same price yeah but it's defo not worth 100€
2020-01-17 17:16
If you're just playing from home the best option is headphone that semi open/open with semi high treble, treble is important since most games sound queues are based of trebles like footsteps. ATH-AD700X, Beyerdynamic DT990 are both great options, I have both I tend to lean towards the DT990's because music is exceptional and they are built like a tank they will never break. The AD700x are slightly better for CSGO due to a slightly better sound stage. Gaming headsets will do the job however they will not out perform those 2 headphones and they are not good compared to the price you pay for them.
2020-01-17 05:30
eb currently have these audio technica's on sale? but not sure if theyd be any good ebgames.com.au/product/pc/223255-audio-t.. ebgames.com.au/product/pc/223255-audio-t..
2020-01-17 10:19
Dude, that's a steal I might have pick one up myself. Would be nicer if they are open backs but they still will be very good. Edit : ebgames.com.au/product/pc/223254-audio-t.. These are the open backs I'm gonna buy them lol, thanks for that, the mic's on them are probably one of the best a headset can offer.
2020-01-17 11:02
help me whats better about open back headsets than closed? advantages and disadvantages? im retarded
2020-01-17 11:37
Open back you have more detailed and clear sound the trade off is you will hear everything from outside, so if you live in a noisy area it can be annoying. Closed backs will have less detail but more base due to the sound bouncing off the inner walls. soundguys.com/open-back-vs-closed-back-h..
2020-01-17 11:43
oh shit idk if i could deal with hearing everything from outside do you reckon the Audio Technica AG1X will still be decent?
2020-01-17 11:45
Yeah, they're pretty much the best "gaming" headset you can get, you won't be disappointed.

Can't say I've tried these so I can't say for sure, but I really don;t like the look of these earpads, plus they're closed-backs. How noisy is your gaming place? Do you want to use these as portable cans too?
2020-01-17 11:00
I'm fairly sure they use the audio from the 900x series cans or the 700x, they have open back version which I linked above.

IN that case I retract my statement. Still don't like the look of these pads, the hybrid ones from the open-backs look more comfy imo, but that might later the sound signature tho. Another great option would be the Phillips SHP9500 wih a mic (something like Audio Technica ATGM2) or the Monolith M560 (great entry planar)
2020-01-17 11:07
I have a pair of 700x which has the wing design they're super comfy provided you don't have a tiny head but they aren't aesthetic as my DT990's which I main that's for sure, I do think the 700x which far as I'm aware the ADG1X is using is the best headphone for gaming period, so ADG1X at $129 is an absolute steal. I wonder if these headsets have the ATGM2 on them, I have this microphone and it's pretty damn good.

I kinda doubt they have it tbh, but the should have a close-ish equivalent. I also heard that the HD600's are awesome for gaming, and the B&O H6's ridiculously good imaging, wo with a bit of EQ you could remove the smooth low-end from theye, boost the trebble a bit and they'd shred it
2020-01-17 11:17
Most likely. HD600's are extremely good for gaming, I was close to buying them when I tried.

I've been considering them for some time now, but the Fidelio X2HR's look tempting, and the Foster THX00's loog gorgeous. Also 660's. So I'm kinda torn tbh

do yourself a favor and get some good beyerdynamic headphones. I have the Custom one Pros myself and my brother has the dt 990s and were both very happy with them. Great sound & build quality + I've never had anyone I played with in CS hear more than me ingame (often a lot less).

Sennheiser HD280 is relatively cheap and it is a tight closed headphone. It really helps shutting off exterior noise. I used it during field/outdoor recording, as I would be able to listen what I was recording in the middle of a noisy environment.
2020-01-17 10:35
But closed headphones tend to make you tired and stressed faster and more easily, leading to mental and ear fatigue.

I use Sennheiser HD598s with an external mic atm. I used Audiotechnica AD700s when I was younger for like 8 years. I think that one is discontinued but there's prob a modern version around. If you're just gonna play games then those gaming headsets are fine. I think headphones are worth the money especially if you use them often and for more than just games though. One thing is I would just completely avoid steelseries/razer headsets unless you find them at like 50% msrp

Fuck the M50x's, you really shouldn't use these for anything other than audio mastering, definitely not for games. Non-existent soundstage and not the greatest positiooning, meh comfort, they're a very much 'in-your-face' kind of cans.

I just use HyperX Cloud Alpha. Pros: 7.1 surround sound. Detachable noise-cancellation microphone. Durable aluminum frame with expanded headband Cons: From personal experience, if you wear the headset for a long period of time, it starts to feel really tight and uncomfortable. Leaves a lot of fingerprint marks on the side if you touch it and there's no way to clean it off.
