Elige below Simple??
India ground0
Hltv did not provide why elige is not placed any higher like it usually did for the other top 20 players. Meaning there are no reasons why he didn't end up above simple. 50-50 I think. IMO elige should've barely beat simple to #3, but hltv did not want to disappoint simple fans I guess. Probably not fair but it's good for the scene.

nah its not because of that, its just after a certain point players get perfect years, and when it gets to that point it pretty much depends on whos more impressive individually
2020-01-18 01:34
read the last part. In every stat, it mentions the 4 or fife highest rating. Elige ist just a buffed meta Krieg user. HLTV feel ashamed they are forced to place him at 4.

S1mple uses the AWP btw, Dev1ce, Zywoo, S1mple, all use awp, unlike Elige.....
2020-01-18 00:50
And Elige use Krieg. A weapon that can win a duel vs an awp.
2020-01-18 00:54
Still awp far easier to use, I do not deny simple > elige raw skill, but shine been #4 in the ranking. Pretty sure he gonna destroy in 2020

An awp requires you to lay back and bait teammates (unless you are Cerq). Riflers have to set up everything and entry, they are the ones that makes the magic happen, and btw Elige can use the AK just as well
2020-01-18 01:01
not really. its a sniper, youre not really supposed to be up close and personal cause then you have the disadvantage, awps are usually for clearing out positions that a rifle couldnt realiably
2020-01-18 01:36
AND S1MPLE DEVICE AND ZYWOO ALSO USE KRIEG
2020-01-18 01:58
and they play also AK they play also what they can pick. But Elige plays only Krieg

hltv.org/stats/players/compare/8738/EliG.. I'd probably guess this is why, you know considering it's an individual award, not a team award.

But starseries is tier 2. And less playoffs and less maps on general. More group states meaning easier opponents.

hltv.org/stats/players/7998/s1mple?start.. compared to hltv.org/stats/players/8738/EliGE?startD.. s1mple simply did better individually, even against top level teams.
2020-01-18 01:01
That should give simple slight edge over elige because elige had almost double the maps of simple against top 10. But elige achievements far above that of simple. I am sure device is #2 so why was elige < simple and device > simple

individual award, goes to individual players. You said it urself, s1mple has a 'slight edge' even when considering the maps, he's better in almost every aspect oh and as for dev1ce > s1mple I disagree, I think in an individual award only individual performance should matter. 2/3 is a toss up both were very close in rating and impact.
2020-01-18 01:34
Agree to everything but my question still remains because magisk > electronic. It should be obvious in that case that elige > simple. 95% identical comparisons them both.

yeah, I disagree with it too, I'm guessing MAJOR MVPs hold a lot more weight than they should. electronic should have 100% been above magisk, he performed much better this year while occupying a similar role.

both about a middle amount of maps for top level teams, I wouldn't say the extra 47 maps is a good enough excuse for losing in Rating, KPR, KAST, and Impact, not to mention drawing on opening kills.

no since device won 2 majors and has mvp of major and better stats than elige so he can be higher than s1mple cuz he didn't win enough
2020-01-18 01:07
But team achievements should not matter right? In individual achievements elige had same number of MVPs but 4 more evps to balance out the major mvp vs big event mvp difference.

but why then magisk higher than elec?
2020-01-18 01:13
Exactly my question, hltv ranking doesn't add up this time. Far too inconsistent. In 2018 all the rankings were justified but this time it looks more random as if to prove the guessers wrong lol.
2020-01-18 01:15
I believe 5-7 were pretty damn close and are basically interchangeable I also think it was Magisk's major rating (and major mvp) that pushed him to #5, as it is the only thing NAF falls behind
2020-01-18 10:57
When will people realize its not about achievements.
2020-01-18 01:01
Not achievements, but mvp-evp's. Also vs top 10 teams elige had literally double the amount of maps that simple has. #13 Also hltv have not even a single argument why he wasn't ranked any higher like it did for every one else.
2020-01-18 01:07
EVPs mean jackshit. You will rack them up if you play for a dominant team. Otherwise the top 10 would be almost Astralis and Liquid players. What matters the most is rating 2.0 and a few others stats. EliGe is at its place as 4th.
2020-01-18 01:10
Why no kscerato on list then? And why magisk > naf, electronic while naf< electronic
2020-01-18 01:11
I'm just saying bro, I dont care that much but Magisk > electronic > NAF seems very logical to me. The only thing that counts in the end for my interest is the number 1 place and its a good thing there was a clear best player in the world again in 2019.
2020-01-18 01:18
Yep can't deny the beast his place. Sucks for device a little bit, but being on Astralis he can easily give it another go this year 👌
2020-01-18 01:21
You said that it'a not about achievements but Magisk>Electronic>Naf makes sense to you? How fucking dumb can you be? Electronic has waaay better stats than magisk and even naf is ahead of him so how does it make sense to rank magisk higher than electronic due to his MVPs and EVPs but not rank elige above s1mple for the same exact reason

Elige should be third no doubt. But it's all good. Clearly HLTV values players who use the AWP more. Elige put up those numbers on an AK, M4 and Krieg in that order. That makes him the best pure rifler playing right now. Whether it's third or fourth place. Who really gives a fuck. If you are Liquid and/or Elige you take that to the bank and you bang out teams in 2020. We're already halfway over the Astralis head thing. Let these boys kick Astralis out of their heads permanently in 2020. Hell Twistzz could still be the best player on this team and we haven't seen the final form of that yet.
2020-01-18 01:21

I mean we are the ones laughing now? You got 8 teams in the top 10 we have 2 and our teams win as much as yours do. So feel free to NA CS lul wherever you want. Tournaments speak for themselves. As do Elige's numbers. Best numbers a pure rifler has ever put up. Go back and look if you don't believe me.

What's this got to do with some Swiss clown doing the NA CS lul thing? Reality is what I said. North America with just two teams wins as much as Europe does with all the rest. I'm not talking about the fucking Nordic Invitational either. I'm talking about IEM Sydney and ESL Cologne. You know shit that matters. Electronic's impact was 1.18 in 2018 by the way. That's quite good. Elige's impact was 1.fucking 31 this year. That's incredible.

The irony is always enjoyable when a no scener speaks up. Sergej is looking poised for a big year himself in 2020 speaking of. If Allu and Sunny can hit 80% of their peaks and Sergej keeps rising Ence could be back in the conversation very soon.
2020-01-18 01:51
<333 hell yes mens Sergej is never talked about but he has been Ence's workhorse while everyone has been falling off. I can't wait to see them in the future :D (and against OG in a few weeks lol)

You know if I were a Finn that would be tough for me. Part of me would want to see Aleksi kick the shit out of his old team. But rising stars like Sergej are easy to be big fans of. I'm guilty of it myself, I love Ethan and Twistzz precisely because they are young and they are both just super crispy. Sergej is even younger and his ceiling is probably about where Twistzz is. Lot to be exciting about there.
2020-01-18 02:30
Did you compare the players' stats? S1mple is far better in almost everything there is.
2020-01-18 16:05
I would never put Elige over S1mple, because he didn't play better and isn't overall better player than s1mple, so it is justified and doesn't matter if you don't agree with me or hltv, the fact is the fact and thats why he is top 4 instead of 3
2020-01-18 01:35
Please explain why magisk > electronic then?
2020-01-18 01:40
you can ask the creators of the list, not me. I assume Magisk was just better in other aspects than 2.0, thats why. Plus electronic really stepped down since last year, and magisk improved. Maybe there is a factor of dedication, too. Like magisk played better and deserved it more. with electronic and magisk idk, I can only make assumptions, however with s1mple and elige it seems obvious

How? Liquid went on a run that will literally never be repeated. Elige spear headed that run and put up the best numbers a pure rifler ever has. So please explain your logic. I'm honestly curious. All Simple did was throw rounds with stupid knife kills and stat pad in group stages.
2020-01-18 01:53
idk what "never repeatable" run you are talking about, Liquid were leading top1 for 18 weeks, which is good, but still not even close to astralis or nip. elige is not best rifler, he was just pulling up double kills and clutches to show off. Statistics proves it over here hltv.org/stats/players/8738/EliGE as he is pretty average, while s1mple's stats are exceeding ZyWoo's in some cases. You can debate that elige has put "the best number a pure rifler ever has", that's not supported by anything, just your opinion This is not "my logic" this is obvious fact, and it is evidently supported by putting elige in 4th place. I seem to follow hltv's thoughts on this, can you acknowledge the same?
2020-01-18 02:01
Filter it to 2019 and explain how elige didn't put up the highest numbers a pure rifler ever has? We re talking about years and Elige's 2019 is the best a rifler had, the only one coming close is electronic but with way less maps than him and even lower adr and impact. Yeah I guess 1.21 rating and 86.1 adr is average. It's not his opinion, nor mine, it's just the fact backed up by statistics
2020-01-18 02:11
well wonderful, but still s1mple > elige which was my point, and it is proven by the 2019 list

Yeah what my man Gypsy here said. Elige's numbers are DAMN impressive for a guy who literally never touches an AWP. By never repeatable I mean no one will ever win a grand slam in 63 days ever again. And no one will ever win 22 series in a row. Ever again. Real recognize real. Astralis is the best team in the world and the best team of 2019. However Liquid did some ridiculous shit that even Astralis never did. Respect goes both ways my man.
2020-01-18 02:32

Obviously rating is the only thing that matters. What did Elige have? Like 12 evps and 3 mvps. Like 6-8 first places 5 or so 2nd places. What a RIP While the awpers save like pussies Elige is always hunting them down. Keep it up in 2020 Elige.
2020-01-18 04:10
Didn't really read but EliGE is unique in that he is not only an entry player unlike the other 3 but he is also a rifler and put up insane numbers
2020-01-18 05:27
Isn’t Stewie the entry ?
2020-01-18 11:05
Stew and EliGE are both the main entries of this team, it's just that Stew is also assigned to play some more supportive roles which is why he has lower numbers. Also he's good but not as good as EliGE
