dw, we've got more than enough money donated and not many people effected... can stop going on about it now.
2020-01-21 07:17
Since im not using facebook I maybe late for that, but still had to show some simpathy about it cuz it’s sad

Looking from your comment history, seems you are heavily anything against relating to the scientific reality of climate change today. There is a decent amount of people affected, I don't see why you are trying to somehow deny that fact.

Whats a decent amount of people to you because you're being rather vague. It matters how many people are affected and if you're one of them tree hugging hippies that thinks its possible to save everyone then this isn't going to be a logical conversation. Also i've never deny'd climate change i just put forward the question "Why do we care so much about Earth when by the time it's dead we would have populated hundreds of planets?"
2020-01-21 10:42
I fail to see how watching the world's ecological biome collapse around you for mere profits that won't matter in a world we don't have is a logical standpoint by any measure. Sorry.

How long do you think its going to take, because it seems to me you actually think its possible for the Earth to die before we can leave it easily.
2020-01-21 10:43
Have you taken a moment to look at images of proven climate change over the course of just the past 10 years? Dried up water sources, melted ice caps (that have been in place for several millennia), etc? Or are you literally burying your head in the sand so that oil company CEOs can continue to profit off the demise of others while they still buy their bottle water direct from the cleanest sources?

have you taken a look at how we're reversing it? can we not claim ignorance for at least 1 second?
2020-01-21 10:48
Reversing it? At a pace that's going to outdo the damage wreaked? I hope you're joking. So, let's use the G20 Emissions Target agreement as a baseline, shall we? No country is slated to hit their targeted goal. These 20 countries produce over 85% of the Greenhouse gas emissions that get trapped in the atmosphere. So, reversing it, you say? We can't even meet our own goals because the coffers of those in power continue to get bolstered by the ones damning us all for their own financial gain. ctvnews.ca/canada/canada-among-g20-count..

Do you understand time? How much time it would take even if we didnt do anything to reverse it and just kept going the way we are, how long it would take just to START to effect us as a whole? If you knew how long it would take you would know at the rapid pace we are evolving we will be long gone from this rock floating in space because thats all it is!
2020-01-21 10:53
I'm sorry, the drastic changes within the past 50 years alone have outdone changes over the course of a millennia+ So, I fail to see how you think it's getting any better or that we or our offspring will reap some kind of benefit of reform in the immediate future? What is fact is the catastrophic changes that are affecting us at this very moment.

also we aren't privy to information about how the earth changes it's climates i mean for god sakes Egypt was a rain forest at one point... the Earths rotating and orbit changes. We just dont have enough information to know if we have made as much as an effect on it as people think
2020-01-21 10:50
What we do have is scientific proof that didn't exist in the past, that the negative effects of climate change are spiraling out of control at a previously unprecedented and continuously downward slope.

We dont have the history to make that assumption!
2020-01-21 10:54
And denying the severity of the changes serves what purpose to you, personally? Our own countries are making pledges to make changes because of the realistic downfall of the ecological biome. They're admitting the issue. It's well known that fossil fuels are not a sustainable resource for the future. The science and facts are there. The ones arguing it have an invested interest in continuing with using fossil fuels and caring little for the volcano activity, hurricane intensities, heat waves, etc, that are devastating the world right now. And you say to think logically...
2020-01-21 10:58
Imagine that guy's country is burning down and him thinking climate change is a myth? DurrrrRrRrRrRRRrrRR One word sums up his mindset.
2020-01-21 10:42
the people affected don't get any of that money though? it all went to government run charities. Ask the people affected and businesses and fire fighters in 1 year if they received the anything, the answer will be no. The only charities I see that were beneficial were the ones that would take donated goods and take them to the affected areas, but it was all privately organized nothing government organized.

The people affected shouldnt. They made their choice. The money will go towards rebuilding the communitys and creating methods to prevent it from happening again
2020-01-21 10:55
methods to prevent it, aka back burning which was basically non existent. Creating methods to prevent it, meanwhile a lot of the charities are planting trees again? not sure i understand that argument sorry.
