Can only second this, my dad went to law school, my mom as well and now they wanted me to do the same, but I quit after 2 weeks and half a year later I became a snowboard teacher for kids and I couldn't have made a better decision.

be ur own man. Studying in order to make more money for the rest of your life is definitely worth it for 3-5 years of chilling at uni. Going to uni is easier than doing any 9-5 job tbh, including engineering and med school

if youre ok with what youre studying and dont have any other field you'd rather be learning then sure but its really not worth it if you dislike it as you finish learning and transition into a job the dislike is going to turn into hate and youre either going to give it up or end up a bitter man who hates his life trust me half of my family ended up like this

Yeah I know
2020-01-22 07:11
because studies became too accessible because of lowered expectations and jobs that don't require uni have been de-valued, so unis are flooded with untalented/unmotivated people struggling to study or studying bullshit subjects and who will be useless on the job market after graduation, even though they could have been useful doing something else
2020-01-21 15:55
+1 my dad he works as recruiter for a tech company and he says like so many ppl that have a master or bachelor degree, are so dumb and have absolutely 0 experience when it comes to do the practical work.

that's not really true. cuz if u dont study and go straight to work.when ur done with school u will have way more money than when u study 5 years. even if u do good u can be promoted head of a company with 20 if u start with 16

True but experience and knowledge is quite important if you want a long term job. And not many can get a decent job at 16 unless they have some connections or somethig
2020-01-21 17:19
here its the perfect age to get a good job, with awesome trainee and education. any person i know who started to work right after school got his life way more in check than anyone doin his master and then struggeling 2 years to find a good job cuz he believes the master degree matters.

It depends on the profesion honestly. Sometime master degree or any degree for that matter is unimportant I know some people here in serbia who got decent jobs at 16-18 yo but those arent long term jobs i feel like. It seems they cod do much better and thus they are still studying

Because it is widely accepted that university is the way to go if you want to have a carreer in the tertiary sector. In reality (at least here), many people end up with a MSc or a PhD and yet cant work for shit because they've zero working skill.

For alot of degrees the blame should be on the student, for example I'm doing business and there's many opportunities to work while you study. So if you don't then of course you'll have no experience, but there's many ways to get experience even in your field

many ppl study for the wrong reasons, thats cuz it gives them security and mostly a stable job afterwards, its mostly a comfortzone thing, and the others study cuz they actually wanna learn and educate themself on that subject.

2020-01-21 16:18
Even if you atudy something useless, I wouldnt say it is waste if you are interested. Why not a highly educated society?
2020-01-21 16:11
problem with students is they never remember anything, they have to study everything by brain and heart and then once they finish their degree, 5 years later they dont know shit anymore, at least this what happened to me.
2020-01-21 16:13
Depends on the student, but sadly you are right, most students dont remeber anything after some time. The reason for this is that they arent emotionally investigated. If you truly love what you study you will remember most of the things, because they are importent to you...
2020-01-21 17:23
a highly educated society is useless. look at germany.
2020-01-21 16:14
LOL Explain to us, how is the society in Germany useless?
2020-01-21 16:31
we need to import all workers cause we only have academics
2020-01-21 17:23
For starters you are exaggerating a lot, but even if not then how would that be a failure. When the society is one where everybody gets to live a good life I'd say that for it being able to include more people and being open to other people that is not a failure, in fact it is a sign of strength and one that helps ensure there is a good future.

2020-01-21 16:29
So many things wrong here, like fx. 1. For starters who is to say the family business is interesting. 2. The family business is your families, to inherit you will have to wait and that might be a long time. 3. More often than not the family doesn't have a business.

Having an education open doors. It is best to study something that interest you, but education is better than no education.
2020-01-21 16:30
Why go to university when ur not intrested in topic??? LOL Iam on medicine its end of 3rd semester (exam tommorow and iam browsing HLTV lul) and we started with around 90-100 people now 30 left. I think its gonna stay till the end like that but too many people think studying is easy. They come and are in big schock they dont get degree for free. Bitch its not High School wtf
2020-01-21 16:32
it is super easy if ur interested in that subject. but ppl just study what they believe might bring them money in the future.

2020-01-21 16:56
because its basically free time
2020-01-21 16:36
Because you will have more and better jobs opportunities if you have education and parents pressure them because of this
2020-01-21 16:37
but that's not even true. the time u spent in university u can already work urself up the ladder and have a propper paid job with 22-24. i mean thats 4-5 years of u not earning anymore. avarage person here in his 15-16 earns 700 while training and after 3 years of training around 1800. not a single graduate will get that at the start, u will alos have work urself up.

You should only study smth if you're actually interested in the topic and want to learn more about etc., otherwise wtf are you doing.
2020-01-21 16:40
hate it but need it. while you study you have to learn a lot of topics you're not interested in. it's okay though. you've enough free time and you can drink a lot of beer.
