There have been tons of false alarmist doomsday predictions that the earth will collapse in the next X Years, lots of them turned out to be false. But still, climate change is seemingly the most important topic nowadays (in Germany at least). Movements like Extinction Rebellion even call for the abolition of capitalism to prevent climate change, saying that it "isn’t about the Climate", therefore mixing environmentalism and (cultural) Marxism and trying to lure environmentalists into their socialist cults.

Now onto a list of failed doomsday predictions (feel free to add old articles, studies etc. in the comments, it would help a lot):
1. Peak Oil
This theory started in 1956 when Geologist M. King Hubbert predicted a model that showed a Peak in oil production in 1995-2000, most other later models predicted oil to peak 2000-2030, with predictions of drying supply and skyrocketing prices made up to even the late 00's. Some people even expected a collapse of civilization because people will fight for energy. Now we are in 2020 and oil prices are low, there is plenty of supply left and no one is afraid of running out of oil because of technological progress outpacing the dwindling reserves and plenty of alternatives being developed and the peak will most likely be reached because of a lack of demand rather than supply, especially if we manage to develop fusion energy.
2. Overpopulation and Famine
Several books and articles (I'm looking at the late 60's) have predicted famines due to overpopulation to happen in the 20th century still, nowadays we're not even close to one. Birth rates are also steadily declining all around the world, in fact too low birth rates are becoming a problem in many first-world countries.
Books predicting famines:
The Population Bomb - Paul R. Ehrlich (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Population_Bom..
Famine 1975! - William and Paul Paddock (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famine_1975
Articles looking back at it:
(even Vox claiming that overpopulation is not a problem anymore)
3. "Britain will be ‘Siberian’ in less than 20 years"
In 2004, the Pentagon warned Bush that Climate Change will cause famine and civil unrest as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020 which will cause fights for ressources all over the world.
4. Glaciers will be gone by 2020
Environmentalists predicted the glaciers in Glacier National Park, Montana USA to melt by 2020, with "warning signs" posted around the National Park, which have been removed as it is now 2020 and all glaciers there are still here. In fact, the glaciers have started shrinking before the industrial revolution as the little ice age came to an end. Not a doomsday scenario, but shows how the effects of climate change have been hugely exaggerated. Similarly with Al Gore's documentary "An inconvenient truth" in which he said that we have 12 years to save the world - 14 years ago.
5. New Ice Age coming since 1970
Mostly around the 1970s, lots of researchers predicted the earth to cool due to human emissions like fine dust, some saying that the global average might plunge by six degrees by 2020. Oh well.
Washington Post, 9 July 1971: "U. S. Scientist Sees New Ice Age Coming"
6. Maldives will be under water by 2018
An article in 1988 claimed that the Maldives will be completely under water in 30 years, which simply hasn't happened yet.
I'm not even denying climate change, but this hysteria and alarmism will get us nowhere, so you shouldn't be overly concerned. Climate Change is NOT the biggest issue right now!
TL:DR countless doomsday predictions that the world will end or face huge problems turned out to be complete and utter bullshit
