If the USA annexed Canada, would anyone care? Serious question, asking for a friend.

Alaska was part of Russia. And they bought it - not annexed it. American education system is my second biggest fear from their influence in Canada. First would be the medieval American healthcare system. Imagine being the only civilized nation in the world not to have universal healthcare for their citizens? Joke country.

To put this into direct context for you all: Americans come up to Canada from the United States to buy insulin (life-saving diabetic medication) for 1/10th the cost per vial in the US. In Canada a vial of insulin costs $36/vial. In the US, a vial of insulin costs $360/vial. Synopsis: A US mother loses here 26-yr-old son to complications from Type 1 Diabetes, due to him being unable to afford the very high costs of medication, causing him to ration his medication. Basically, the US lets their own people die, because they pander to pharmaceutical companies who charge outrageous prices vs the actual production costs of medication (as seen above). cbsnews.com/news/mother-fights-for-lower.. If this isn't a medieval healthcare system that's a complete joke in 2020, I actually feel bad for you Americans. I'm not even joking. What a pathetic country. If anything, the US would benefit from Canadian influence.
2020-01-22 04:00
Maybe don’t be fat?
2020-01-22 05:49
Man you are more stupid then burgers. Diabetes type 1 is a genetic disease starting at young age and people generally healthy. Fat fucks get diabetes type 2 because of insane amount of "diet coke" and sugar they put in their gushs. Both types need insulin. Well not really, when your type 2 just started, most often you can live without insulin if you lose weight and stop eating like the disgusting fuck you have been.

There is a difference bro. T1D is not because you are fat. It's a genetic disease. Learn the difference. I have a friend with T1D and he's one of the most athletic healthy eating people ever but he needs insulin because of it.

OP: "If TeH USA AnNeXd CaNaDa, wOuLd AnY1 CaRe? SeRiAl QuEsTioN, AsKiNg 4 a FreND." The other idiot: "we already did its called alaska smh" They didn't receive Alaska from British/Canadian holdings - they received it from Russian holdings. Clearly their education system fails to teach the formation of their country properly. Whether it was bought or taken is irrelevant. The point is it wasn't taken from Canada, as the OP described - it was taken from Russia. This guy just had no idea what he's talking about, eluding to the US receiving Alaska from Britain.

To be fair, Canada won the last war vs. the United States. "The War of 1812" The US declared war on Canada, invaded them, then Canada turned it around and they burned down the White House (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washing..) to teach them a lesson. ;) I live 30 minutes away from one of the big battles of this war; this battlefield (which is now part of the St. Lawrence Seaway): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Crysler%.. I visit once a year to celebrate the defeat of the United States' invasion army at the hands of a much smaller army. There's a battle reenactment every year in July at 'Upper Canada Village', a local village turned into a museum.

It was the British army who burned down the white house, and the war of 1812 was a draw with no winner.
2020-01-22 04:10
It was Canadian militias who thwarted the invasion and kept the Americans back in time for reinforcements. There were British soldiers living throughout Upper Canada and it's very difficult to ascertain who was what and where their origins were. Having British commanders didn't necessarily make them all-Brit armies. The compositions were quite deeply filled with youthful, natural born residents of Upper Canada.

Britain effectively won the War of 1812 by successfully defending its North American colonies. But for the British, the war with America had been a mere sideshow compared to its life-or-death struggle with Napoleon in Europe.
2020-01-22 05:31
Agreed. It was a smaller war in itself and the Americans tried using the EU struggles as their distraction for invasion. Didn't work out. They lost. OP won't ever accept that because he made this thread just to forge an unnecessary debate. Lol. "WoUlD AnYOnE CaRe iF tEh US inVaDeD TheiR AlLy?" HLTV's finest.

If I’m not mistaken at that time the Americans still considered themselves as brits

Actually, the United States declared war on us, first, then invaded. Once Canada won here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Crysler%.. Washington was burned 9 months later. I'm sure that President was popular. ;)

"Canada" didn't exist, and the war is considered a draw by historians, since neither the Americans nor the British accomplished their goals, and ended the war in more or less the same situation as before.
2020-01-22 04:20
Upper Canada certainly did exist. The Americans intended to invade and it was thwarted. Didn't stop there, however, their capitol was burned to teach them a lesson. Ergo, they lost. Of course Canada was not bound to conquer the United States. They acted in self-defense and responded to a failed attempt at invasion. They lost - as their intent was thwarted.

Reunion FakeFrenchie
I mean I can see how from the Canadian colonial perspective, they might see it as a moral victory, but officially it was a draw, which was reflected in the peace treaty. The war was considered a draw by the Americans and the British, who were the major players in the war.
2020-01-22 04:24
The Americans realized it was a stupid decision and they suffered because of it. Again, Canada had no intent for war - it was thrust upon them. They acted in defense, retaliated with a counterattack and the US realized they made a bad decision and sought peace. This would not have come about if the Americans succeeded in their invasion - which they did not. Ergo, they lost. I understand why that's difficult for you to understand because you chose to compose an idiotic thread topic to try and be a troll. It's okay, fakeflagger.

Yeah no shit the Americans didn't accomplish their goal, that's why it's considered a draw. You can literally Google it right now, the war ended in a draw between the Americans and the British.
2020-01-22 04:28
They didn't achieve their goal, because Canada won the defense and counterattacked in direct response. Burning Washington was victory enough, all things considered, given the US were the aggressors. It was a bad decision and an embarrassment to the United States. Canada had no intent for war. And they succeeded in their defense and then turned the tides. The US didn't have to be conquered for them to lose. They suffered enough defeats along the way that it was blatantly clear their invasion failed - ergo, they lost. Again, Canada & the Brits had no intent for war. The aggressors failed. The defenders succeeded.

You do realize that no matter what argument you make, it doesn't change the fact that the war ended in a draw right? It's considered a draw by historians and was also considered w draw in the official treaties ending the war. Again, I can see how from the Canadian perspective, they might see it as a moral victory, but the major players in the war considered it a draw.

It was the British army that burned it down, and like I said above, the war of 1812 had no winner. Americans and Canadians both learn from a young age that they won the war because they "repelled the Invaders," but the truth is no one won.
2020-01-22 04:15
The US declared war and invaded Canada. They were defeated in their attempt and bowed out. Ergo, they lost as their original invasion was thwarted. Retaliation was just a response to this and their capitol was burned. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Crysler%.. That's defeat in itself.
2020-01-22 04:19
Yeah I would care. As a Canadian, I wouldn't want any country to invade us.

You think invading a first world country with 37 million people is easy? Canada stepped up hard in WW2 and got a relatively powerful military by the end of it with the 4th largest air force and 5th largest navy in the world. Canadians are not whimps and none of us would EVER want to be a part of the USA. Also the US did invade Canada in 1812 and they thought It was going to be easy, they got pushed back and we BURNT DOWN the white house. We were back by the UK however they were busy fighting against napoleon.

usa cant invade sandnigga countries 1/10 of canadas size. both usa and russia became world superpowers because of the technology and scientists they have stolen from germany during and after WW2. the only way usa can beat countries is economy and if countries have economy backup from china or other global players, they dont know what to do. and dont tell me about NA military. an army full of underclass people, nibbas and greencard soldiers (poor migrants, they tell them they get fast resident card if they go to iraq etc. for us army). you will never invade a country with these guys.
