Well put! Counterstrike itself is nuanced.. a player can put all of their eggs in one basket with seemingly no way of knowing which is the right investment to make and win. They win because they had collected very very subtle information during the round or have an extra-dimensional understanding of the game itself.
A cheater is rather the opposite of nuanced, though. A cheater in a clutch situation is preceded by the execution of mathematically generated input made from within the context of a unique, essentially random round of counterstrike. Or a cheater gains information from patterns in their own input. These can be easy for human observers to identify let alone a machine.
I'm not saying AI is going to catch every cheater but having a non-partisan authority on the matter in the first place will be a massive first step. What it might do is make it so difficult, stressful, cumbersome and dangerous to cheat in most cases that it will be easier for a player to get good than it will be to evade VAC AI entirely.
