I mean besides things mentioned above I have complex of measures which helps me to improve sleep quality. And no, I noticed that I sleep significantly better while sticking to nofap. Also I tried it (masturbate to fall asleep) in the past but it didn't help me.

wake up early even if you sleep late. eventually your body will get used to getting tired earlier. melatonin is also a good idea. stay away from screens for at least an hour before you intend on going to sleep. limit caffeine to mornings only. coming from someone with insomnia, hope this helps!

Don't go to the doctor unless you have sleeping apnea or medical conditions that may cause you to wake up at night or trouble falling asleep, you have to remember that insomnia is a mental health issue not physicall! No sleep professional will prescribe you sleeping pills, because they don't cause a natural sleep, they casuse druged out sleep (which is different and in a long term will ruin your health) also sleeping pills will work for a short period of time and after that they just stop working, also most of them cause addiction, so it will be really hard to get off them. Instead get a proper sleeping hygiene (look up in the internet, there's a ton of information), and I suggest you to read Sasha's Stephens "the Efortless sleeping method" book, there's a ton of information on sleeping hygiene and only true way to fix sleeping issues: fixing your mental health and additude for sleep.

I said unless you feel like you're suffering physically. Most of the doctors don't even fucking understand what they are talking about. I suffered from insomnia, I spend a lot lot of time visiting doctors, all they did is they prescribed me sleeping pills or diagnosed me with depression and heart issues, turned out I didn't have any of those. Same with psychiatrists, they diagnose you with random mental health diagnoses, because sleep deprivation is causing symptoms similar to some mental diseases. If you're feeling physically fine the only way to fix your problems is to fix yourself, have to remember that you're not going to cure your problem instantly, it may take a month or even a year, just don't give up. I'm not saying that going to doctor is totally useless, some of them may help you, but there are few that truly understand the problem.

Fixing my attitude towards sleep, following sleep hygiene, quiting coffee, believing in my ability to sleep even if I slept like shit, not relying on anything that could "improve" my sleep, keeping the same healthy mindset until I could sleep like a baby and following this same attitude to this day
