When I feel like a lot of people are looking at me (and I avoid eye contact), my mouth goes all weird. I bite hard on my jaw, swallow, reposition my lips etc. Not sure how to stop. Thanks for reading.

Nothing you can do outside of medication and therapy. For me neither worked. After many years of fighting it I finally embraced it and learned to live with it. But you should really try therapy because it works for many people.

I meant reading books in general is beneficial, especially in niche that you’re passionate about. When it comes to books that might be helpful in social anxiety I recommend Gary John Bishop positions. I was shy fuck as teenager, reading and training helped me a lot

Im not sure I know anything about Lormetazepan doses. I mean, for me 2mg of alpra is OK for feeling chilled out, 4mg for being knocked out :D I was taking alprazolam for ~2 months day by day and this were HORRIBLY hard to stop taking this I can't even imagine what you feel :D And im using maximum 2 times per month to prevent addiction' Btw in Poland you can get xanax or other benzo in like one day from doctor if you know what to say. Is it the same in Italy?

Expose urself to stressful situations. Fidget with something. Make eye contact!! It's hard to make eye contact but it really decreases social anxiety

You should be happy that your anxiety isn't as bad as mine. My anxiety had been building for years and it finally imploded in on itself in july of 2019 where I woke up after a terrible nightmare. Almost crying myself to death that night. It would go on to ruin my life for months where I just felt hopeless. Anxiety can literally make you believe anything if it wants to. It hijacks the brain and fakes stuff to make you believe it's real. If your biggest fear is death anxiety will make sure that you will feel like you're dying even though you know it's not true and having a "discussion" with your anxiety and telling yourself didn't even help in my case. It depends how bad it is but if you have the same as me then anxiety can make your body do anything to make you believe in the threat. I was seeing a girl that I really liked before all this happened and when it happened I lost all sexual desire and even if I tried I wasn't able to get an erection even though I felt turned on and I wanted to have sex with women still and I tried to masturbate with a soft dick which pretty difficult because I had seen a woman that I found attractive but my anxiety really quickly found ways to scare me like telling me that I was gay or that I had prostate cancer (Which can cause ED) but I realised that anxiety and stress/worries in general can kill your sex drive and cause you to have erection problems. I have generalized anxiety which basically means that it's not limited to one subject such as social anxiety but as a whole. Basically any situation can make me anxious if it seems real enough but whenever the anxiety or the worries disappeared, all these problems would disappear and I would feel happy and confident for a week or two before it returns which went on for a few months before the periods of anxiety got smaller and smaller. tl;dr If you wanna get rid of anxiety you gotta try to calm down and let those intrusive thoughts pass by and everything you have to do is stand back and let the thoughts and emotions flow and don't let them overpower you. It's made my life much better but I still have these doubts and periods of strong anxiety which I have been unable to stop which I where I am now. At this point I'm not sure if I should seek help or continue on my own path. but I hope this will help you a bit. I don't want anyone else to suffer like I've done for the past few months. Try to be confident in what you truly believe is the right thing and let the intrusive thoughts flow.

right there with you man. I struggled with the same health anxiety when i was growing up. Always had the constant fear of dying and my anxiety made me feel like i was ill even though it was all in my head. only time i felt relieved was when i was asleep. Also thought i was gay for a brief period to the point where I nearly accepted it and started experimenting. Didn’t get over it until i took to gaming to get me through this patch.

I don't see that like the worst thing in the world except IF you are always forced to be close to a group of ppl bcz in that case you'll hardly get to know someone personally + there is almost always going to be somebody that you do not know and as the worst thing, you'll have very little time to talk with the person you want to talk with. If you are rly intrested in somebody then you'll get to know them sooner or later and the awkward feeling will disappear soo I don't think It's that big of a deal, just try to engage them when they are alone. (If you can walk with them a bit when they are going towards their home, talk with them on fb, ask them to help u in some minor things or smth. like that, If you already know each other a bit, call them to ur home or hang around with them).

There's this girl I kind of like and maybe she likes me because we've made eye contact a fair few times and it's always been really awkward. I also feel like she looks at me sometimes but I purposely avoid looking at her or acknowledging because if I do, I will do a stupid smile, laugh or go red (not pale so idk if she'd notice). Just breathe and focus on your breathing. Everything you observe and experience is inside you, as such a part of you. There is no part of you that wants harm for you. It's all you. Just continue breathing and slowly start adding variables, such as looking at how your brain forms an image of another human being for your field of view, or perhaps inquiring your body on how the joint lock in your left elbow is doing right now. Sooner or later you will feel relaxed in a social setting, not inducing yourself to panic responses like an animal. Hope this helps.
