tbh that's pretty much a scam league, 95 percent of those teams are having a hard time maintainng a top25 ranking..

I understand why they are doing it, but it seems quite excessive the way they are handling it.

nah, I feel like you're just trying to understand..(ie. they want to be more competitive, they dont want to have shit teams etc.. so they're forcing them to be good) but the truth is that you can't expect to have "all" the top teams when everyone is playing esl....

Not to mention if they're playing site b they wont be able to attend as many tournaments and therefore lose ranking. This league is going to be a shit show.
2020-01-24 03:09
Depends on whose ranks they use. Hltv is inaccurate for the reason you mentioned.

...how tf is hltv inaccurate, it's not their fault if blyat league is making dumb decisions
2020-01-24 09:05
More tournaments = more points. The ranking isn’t based of who’s better rather than who meets criteria for points.

but you can't fight for top5 spot if there're no top5 teams in the tournament... and there're like 2 top20 teams in blyat league
2020-01-26 09:09
lmaooooooooooooooooooooooo rip mibr
2020-01-23 22:57
+1 I was literally thinking of them. Isn't the whole point of a franchised league to create stability regardless of other teams outside the league? If you are these shitty teams how the fuck can you agree to rely on HLTV ranking then?

There's no way teams would agree to this unless there's some insanely well planned out financials behind this project. It's a double edged sword though -- huge gains for those teams capable of topping the League, massive potential losses for teams that fail. Right now I'd prioritize keeping those newer orgs in the scene rather than scaring them away if they fail to build a good roster.
2020-01-23 22:58
Have you actually read the stuff after... : "This doesn’t mean that B Site 100% will fine the teams, it just means that they will have the ability to do so if they believe that any organization is intentionally mismanaging the team and needs to be incentivized."

hmmmm Faz....
2020-01-23 23:11
Still, if it's at the discretion of B site only this could get messy.
2020-01-24 02:01
Why the shit would the metric need to be relative to teams OUTSIDE the league though? That's fucking retarded.

A new ponzi/cs league made by faceit you need to pay 2 million to play its pretty much only for teams who can't secure qualification or invites to other leagues/tournaments.

Free excluding the cost of your roster you just need to get a team good enough to qualify or be high enough on rankings for invites.

People acting like b-site is straight up going to fine them the maximum every single month. They said that it is up to, a maximum of $100k. And on BTN Thoorin said that they will only fine them if they are actively not trying to get better and they won't fine the maximum amount right away unless it continues

It's just a 'best effort' rule. Many sports have it. In tennis if you show up to a match and don't even try you get fined.

how is it ridiculous? it's literally just a scare tactic, it's barely going to be implemented and the chances of just losing every game is just laughable, especially in CS. It's not fair to make a portion of the money when you do fuck all. gtfo here with that shit

Teams in this league will get a revenue share. They might be making more money a month than they are fined.

the fines are for the share of the revenue, not to the team itself... why would you not want this??? it stops orgs from paying the buy in then just field a team of silvers and lose every game 0-16, but get the same revenue share as the team at the top of the league. doesn't really make sense does it?

2020-01-24 02:08
This can be applied by the league if they decide that the teams aren't performing/making poor decisions. It's not just 100k flat each month either, it's up to 100k. It's more of a scare tactic then anything else.
2020-01-24 02:58
to avoid teams going like VP did last 2 years lmao

i think thats good, cuz teams who are like 0-10 will always take their matches seriously even tho they cant win the league anymore so now they'll try to always give their best in every match! isnt that great mens?
2020-01-24 12:20
please stop making threads where we take minute things out of context. Please actually research before posting anything that could actually hinder the success of something important to the game It is a POSSIBLE fine that they reserve the right to, and will be used against grossly mismanaged teams. It is exactly the same as fining a team in any real sport for showing up and not trying.
2020-01-26 03:15
Seems excessive, but I doubt they will actually go through with it.
2020-01-26 03:15
Faceit, hosts of the worst CS:GO major as well as being the company who keep forcing half assed online leagues onto the scene just to feed Bardolph's and DDK's ego being greedy? No way bruv, that would never ever happen. Literally no t1 team should ever pick them over EPL, there's no money in the world to justify that.
