Not really. They are almost completely autonomous, and can decide for themselves if they want to break free from the Kingdom and its costs and benefits. Greenland is, more or less, on the verge of doing exactly that.. but they haven't found a majority vote for it yet.

Well, it doesn't matter if they chose it or not, they're part of the Danish Kindgdom, therefore part of Denmark. You have just supported an argument that you were arguing against.

Part of the Danish Kingdom =/= part of Denmark. You have just supported an argument that you were arguing against. They are only bound by a limited amount of instutions, including education and defense.

And what is Denmark then? By this logic you could say Aruba isn't part of the Netherlands. But they are. Faroe Islands and Greenland aren't sovereign states but territories of Denmark, that's a fact and no matter how hard you try to bend the rules that will not change.

Denmark Notallama
Kingdom of Denmark is not the same as the Danish state. A big example is regions like Taiwan and Hong Kong, who has limited rule but are autonomous regions.. Greenland and the Faroe Islands have independent governments. I have no idea what your stupid point is.

Taiwan and Hong Kong are not sovereign states. But those too are stupid examples, because their positions are weird because of history. If anything, I would compare it to Macau, but even tho it has autonomousy, it is a part of China. Same with Faroe Islands and Greenland. No matter the autonomousy, they're still part of the Denmark. This is a black and white issue. Either the state is sovereign or it is not.

Maybe you should read up on the topic you are discussing be fore trying to sound smart. You are clinging onto semantics, for no real reason other than trying to win an argument. You are stupid. Czech Republic Rewask
1. There's not even a reason to react to that, no argument given. 2. Yes, the positions of these two territories are in fact quite weird. Taiwan wants to be a sovereign state, yet China doesn't want that, so it's a stupid example. And Hong Kong isn't really a city that would gladly be autonomous under the Chinese rule. Anyways, you've just started insulting, as you have got mad because you have found nothing that would even make me consider changing my mind and I wish to end this discussion here. I refuse to discuss with a person that can't stay respecful and calm. Have a nice day, sir, thank you for your time. /closed

lmao england is part of united kingdom as well so that argument makes no sense. Denmark, officially the Kingdom of Denmark united kingdom=denmark not denmark=england Greenland is an autonomous country of denmark same as finland was for the russian tsardom. Finland was a part of russia. Greenland is a part of denmark Also the the argument was COUNTRIES. Greenland isnt a country. They may be an autonomous country but that is not the same. You are the one arguing semantics here nobody else

Denmark Notallama
How does it not make sense to you? What part of it do you not understand? Seems like quite easy logic to follow. Denmark = Denmark Kingdom of Denmark = Denmark, Faroe Islands and Greenland It's not really so difficult to fathom. "Also the the argument was COUNTRIES. Greenland isnt a country. They may be an autonomous country but that is not the same" That is the definition of a country? Finland is autonomous as well. No idea what logic you're trying to use here, but it's quite obviously an incredibly flawed one. Maybe look up the definition of "autonomous". You're quite simply wrong. Greenland is a part of the Danish Kingdom (The Danish realm), not Denmark as a nation. They have self-rule. If Greenland was considered a part of Denmark, we would be one of the biggest nations on earth...
2020-01-24 20:38

Sarcasm/jokes on behalf of something/someone doesn't really work when the opposite of the ridiculed fact is the case. The unemployment rate in Sweden is greater than that of Denmark, by quite a margin, which accounts for more than 1 percent of the available workforce. I reckon your little example is more likely to happen in Sweden on a daily basis.

Depends on what you want to do. Skiing and hiking in the mountains: Norway or Sweden, not Finland or Denmark Food: Sweden or Denmark, not Norway or Finland A night out: Denmark or Sweden, Not Norway Lake Fishing: Finland or Sweden, Youth education: Finland LGBQ: Iceland or Sweden Personal security: Iceland or Denmark (All Nordic countries are within top 20) CS:GO player: Denmark or Sweden, not Finland, Norway or Iceland : ) Tough negotiators: Danes or Finns, Not Norwegians or Swedes Will invite a new neighbour for coffee: Maybe Icelandics, non of the rest All the Nordic countries have free healthcare, free education, free higher education, some have more or less free day care for children and all of them have a silly amount of parental days (so you can stay home with your kid the first two years).

Looks tasty, might try that now in the cold winter months!
2020-01-24 15:42
Might be good but Denmark still got the most Michelin restaurants of the nordic countries and far more restaurants that is rated better. But i would say the food in the nordic countries is really high standard.
2020-01-24 11:44
you do realize that more michelin stars just mean more expensive for less food right?
2020-01-24 13:12
ofc restaurants with michelin stars are expensive?? but a country like romania where the food is god awful and the culture around food is god awful they will not ever get a michelin star.. the competition in the restaurant section is insane in denmark... its insanely hard to run a restaurant in copenhagen for example, because there is so many.. and another reason alot of them have to shut down again because of the insane competition there is. The more restaurants there is, the the better they have to be and having michelin stars does bring the standard up and restaurants wanting to do better.
2020-01-24 13:26
Well yea, but 99 percent of people sont eat at restaurants with michelin stars. Im just saying its a bad measurement for comparision of food. Plus i bet almost all those are not created by danes. But by chains. So its not danish food. Its international
2020-01-24 13:28
Most of those restaurants are owned/created by danes... but be my guest just go check cvr.dk and write their restaurant name and see the owner of the restaurant and who opened it and you can see how much money they make etc... there is 27 michelin restaurants out of like 65 in the nordic.
2020-01-24 13:37
well shit, you got me
2020-01-24 13:42
Like im sure there is french or other nationalities in the kitchen or even the owner but again there isnt just 1 chef in a kitchen and i wud find it very unlikely that there is zero danes in 27 michelin restaurants. And i only checked like 5.. cba checking 27 just to prove that they might not all be pure danish restaurants. Anyway those tourists or ppl i know who came to denmark to eat always liked it and the nordic food in general.. that is pretty much all i wanted to say that the quality of the restaurants is at a pretty high standard... but ofc there is average restaurants too and a few shit ones.
2020-01-24 13:50

2020-01-24 12:11
I can agree with that too some degree, i was visiting denmark on a party trip. And whilst walking on a street in copenhagen,i saw at least 5 gangs rob people outside of clubs so i mean. Is it really the best?
2020-01-24 13:14
Yes. I'd be more concerned about Ahmed and his 8 siblings and 19 cousins in Sweden than in Denmark. Police spend a lot of time patrolling popular clubs in the weekend and the security is always pretty good at popping places so I've come to the conclusion that you're either lying or you visited some bum places.

1-5 Rated by attidue in matchmaking -Sweden: not toxic at all, you can have fun with em, skillful players -Denmark: maybe more toxic than sweden but they keep up with skill -Iceland: Don't even played with em or I don't remember playing with em so I put them in a middle -Finland: Haven't meet a toxic from Finland yet but they usually stay so quiet and it is kind of a problem for team. For me it creates anxiety if they mad or not and when that happens communication is kind of weird, But they are skillful players aswell -Norway: Well as far I played with Norwegians they used to be very very toxic, they usually mock your team and are not very skillful. They can be silent aswell but it depends on individual.

yes, now change your flag to russian to reveal your true identity. Sweden is nordic culturally and geographically, but Russia is nordic geographically. Still, culturally (which this whole thing is based on), Russia isn't nordic.
2020-01-24 11:54
So if a person is writing the truth you immediately assuming this person should be 100% russian? :)
2020-01-24 11:57
you seem to insist russia is nordic which is why i assumed you are from there

? are you actually dumb? Yes, Russia is geographically Nordic, but not culturally How ignorant can you be?
2020-01-24 11:59
you are the ignorant coming and defending the swedish truth denier :) oh it must get you triggered every time when you see Russia actually is a nordic country :)
2020-01-24 12:01
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_countries#/.. Why wouldn't i defend the correct person?
2020-01-24 12:04
so you are a truth denier :) dont worry the border stays there :) Russia is the nordiest of the nordic countries :)

2020-01-24 12:06
i respect your opinion, but it is WRONG. Thank you for bumping my thread btw :)
2020-01-24 12:06
nah man i really dont care about it-i just state the geography fact :)
2020-01-24 12:14
YES, Geographically. But not culturally. I agree with you that geographically a part of Russia is in Northern Europe but Russia doesn't have Northern culture. That's what i've been trying to say
2020-01-24 12:18
I have never claimed culturaly i only stated geography.Historically tho kievan Rus was established by Viking Oleg
2020-01-24 12:20
"Russia has border with Norway so is nordic country" When you say "Russia is nordic country" it heavily implies that "Russia is part of the nordic countires" since thread is clearly about Nordic countries. If you still insist that you are not trolling and only mean geographically, then the whole grouping you are advocating doesn't really make sense or matter in the context of this thread since you could also include Canada, Estonia, Latvia and Alaska (US) to the bunch. "The Nordic countries have much in common in their way of life, history, religion and social structure. The Nordic countries have a long history of political unions and other close relations, but do not form a singular entity today."

You would like Sweden over Finland 100%. We already have entire suburbs of mainly your countrymen. In Finland you would be the 1% and an outsider.

2020-01-24 11:48
Bad food lol... has the best restaurants in the nordic.. nt sorry we dont sell whales..
2020-01-24 11:50
Fine I’ll switch Denmark and Sweden
2020-01-24 11:51
Not saying you shud if you feel that way, just confused you think the food is bad considered we got the most michelin restaurants of all the nordic countries and the standard is pretty high when it comes to restaurant food etc.
2020-01-24 11:57
Nobody links countries to how many michelin restaurants they have, they could've made that restaurant anywhere. It's more what kind of food the countries usually serve.
2020-01-24 12:18
All around the world food, so not limited in any way to anything specific. And alot of tourists do come just because of michelin restaurants and the michelin restaurants isnt my point.. the culture around making high quality food have been here for ages which is a huge reason why we got so many michelin restaurants and why we had restaurants being top1 in the world 2-3 times in a row.
2020-01-24 12:26
Whale beef is really fucking good, though pricey (the place where I usually eat it in Norway it costs around 150USD).
2020-01-24 12:16
Never said its not good, just a bit much saying food is bad based on not selling whale beefs xD even tho i dont think that have been the problem for him.

Come to Finland mens)) before rajat kiinni happens
2020-01-24 21:42
what is that?
2020-01-24 21:55
rajat kiinni = close the borders. It's sort of an meme here but usually it's just racist teenagers who don't like immigrants that take it seriously.
2020-01-25 09:28
but im the same race as u guys wtf
2020-01-25 16:42
true, it's only for immigrants though. All other people would be allowed to come, which is why it is pretty racist to say "rajat kiinni"
2020-01-25 18:11
