I don't have the source, but 100% positive cs pro community was consulted by ValvE and denied interest in an international.
I don't know so much about it, but in dota there is this single tourney every year that will pay huge ammounts of cash, not even comparable to other dota tourneys. This is good for propaganda, some might say, but it's not the best structure for stablishing a sustainable pro scene. I'm not sure, but I think in cs there are 2 majors per year by valve, and a lot of other big events (considering prize money). Also, sticker money, as far as I know, goes directly to player, not organization. This doesn't happen in dota, I think. Someone might complement/correct me on all this.
