Well now everyone knows how to use krieg well, why not re-introduce old AUG? It would be more fair because now both teams have a long range gun and a short range gun. Old AUG still wasn't as good as krieg so I think it would work out pretty well. What you think?
Not for valve, they want more guns to have expensive skins in the game and the best way to do that it to get people using it. They realise they fucked up by nerfing the AUG since everyone stopped using it. They wont make that mistake again...
maybe, if so why not just re-buff aug so more people like playing CT then?
tbh i liked aug and sg553 meta rather than just sg553. idk why people thought the krieg was so much better than the AUG when krieg had better stats in almost every way.
I didn't say that. I said that they did put out a nerf and then needed to wait for the meta to settle in so they can could collect data on how the nerf worked out. Now that they have the data to see that the nerf was not enough they can think about the next nerf.
Valve has the goal to make multiple weapons viable other than just the AK and M4 so they are very careful with their nerfs since they don't want to destroy the weapon
Because now Valve got what they wanted, both the krieg and ak are now being used by the T-side, now Valve have to figure out how to do the same with the aug and m4 because since they nerfed the aug, nobody is using it, they nerfed it too much.
I think this is the main reason why they nerfed the AUG to death. also it would actually be better if gun prices were balance across T and CT and T/CT received different amounts of win/loss bonus. That way CT/T balance and gun balance would be separated. But I doubt that this will ever happen and people would probably have a meltdown.
2018 wasn't the "year of the AUG" as the price of the AUG was reduced in Oct 2018, increased in March 2019 (which had little impact) and basically nerfed to death in June 2019. Also initially players didn't use the AUG so much. If anything the map stats support the idea that it made the game more CT sided. But you'd have to look at like Nov/Dec 2018 to Jun 2019 data.
#4 player of 2019 EliGE said there is pretty much no point in using AUG over M4.
Recent Dreamhack tournament: hltv.org/stats?event=4868 AUG didn't even make the graph.
It's clearly no where near "viable" enough to compete at a high level, compared to the supremacy of the krieg in nearly all aspects compared to every other rifle.
It isn't worse than the M4 in every situation, most pros just don't care enough to use both. Sort of like how no pros used the AUG/Krieg before Valve dropped the price because they didn't care enough about the marginal, situational advantage.
It's "viable" enough for people who aren't pros to use, so that isn't the problem. I don't really want a scoped rifle back in the meta, so I'm fine with how it is right now.
"The game had never been more CT sided when the former version of AUG was in play."
that was because no one was using kriegs at the time, so of course it was super ct sided. it's the same reason why the game was never as t sided as it is now.
It'd very hard for an idiot to realize that he is actually an idiot but through the course of his life, people around him would have found it incredibly obvious and some must have informed them of their lack of active brain cells and cheer stupidity.
