It turns out that Bernie Sanders is leading in the 538 national polling average for the first time. You can't trick people. Everyone with common sense starts to understand that capitalism just doesn't work. You can't deny it, while poor get poorer, dumb fucks like Jack Dorsey and Donald Trump get richer. This is ridiculous. Fuck this. Reactionist wing of Democrats is tricky and cunning. They will manipulate the votes and polls, but you know, honest people are stronger, and every honest person is for Bernie. 2020-02-11 19:23
why are costs so high, what's your take?
2020-02-11 19:33
because this is a capitalistic society with heavy lobbyist influences at the highest level of politics. health insurance and big pharma have sooooooo much influence bc they rake in so much cash and contribute a fuck ton to ensure that it stays that way also the US is a fantastic place to open up a doctor's office or work in a hospital... the pay is beyond great for medical workers so people from all over the world flock here to get a piece of that $$$ unfortunately those costs get transferred to the average citizens along with the businesses that pay for the insurance policies for their workers

2020-02-11 19:26
lol do you know what free means? because other than that those are only your own conjectures. my country was a socialist at one time, and the medical care was indeed free. because of that now i know that words "good", "free" and "cheap" never go in one sentence.

welfare just makes everybody poor capitalism/free enterprise allows for just about anyone to be successful by just working hard, they may not get rich, but if their children work hard too, they'll get richer for those rich fucks as soon as they get lazy, they'll start to lose money their money that's why capitalism is great all you have to do to have a good life is work hard sure there need to be regulations to stop powerful people/companies from squashing the little guys, but that is why we have free speech, so we can find where people are being taken advantage of and stop it from happening
2020-03-03 01:41
>welfare make poor ?????? are you actually retarded >capitalism work hard be rich firstly, it's not like everyone gets a fair chance at this, there are more factors at play, second, do you really want to take the chance to be rich by working your ass off for your own shitty company to make 1200/mo for years on end? all your money goes to paying bills and that health insurance that's necessary to stay alive, then in your late 60s you get to enjoy some cash flow and you remember that you could've just lived your whole life in the nordic countries and enjoyed your whole life with a good standard of living without having to pull 100h weeks free speech = your fb rant about getting fired also it's not like you're the only ones with free speech

working towards a goal gives your life meaning, no need to sit around all day and do nothing, but that is normal in europe nowadays anyway 100h weeks at min wage in my state is 3625/mo not 1200/mo lol, but as I said it's not hard to be a good student and get a scholarship or work hard at a community college (which is free) and get a job far better paying than min. wage
2020-03-03 02:04
it's not like we just sit around, we do things, work, socialize, just not the same ways as you do, work your ass off and be on the verge of a burnout half the time. the 1200/mo was a caricature do you really want to work hard when you could just chill and do things your way? the "american dream"; a house, wife, car, kids, job etc. has been so strongly embedded into your minds that you don't consider any alternatives it's always like this for you middle school->high school->college->job->death it's a laid out formula for you to complete

Since you aren't going to state them, the reason is that the majority can use their majority to oppress a minority. However, using a system like the electoral college only means that you don't even need to be a majority to use democracy to control a minority (which doesn't solve the problem). The root of the problem is that a majority (of votes, MPs or senators, doesn't matter which) is all that is needed to overlook a minority. Which is why inalienable rights are so important. The reason why this is more damaging in the US system is because the executive (the president) has much more power than the prime minister, so all it really takes is winning the election (a simple majority of electoral college votes) to be able to ignore the will of the minority. Having an electoral college doesn't fix any of this, though. The winner still has all the power and there's little the opposition can do.
2020-03-04 20:36
tldr apart from the first sentence. why would i state them? imagine shitting on a system for not electing the peoples choice, while living in a system where the leader is literally chosen by the pre-established powers... was all i was saying. really enjoying the image you posted the more i talk to you. keep shitting on things without providing a solution (topkek at you not even being able to read your own meme or literally being a more vapid person than a caricature). A* buddy, why aren't you leading the country? edit- read a little more and I'm done after reading this :" US system is because the executive (the president) has much more power than the prime minister, so all it really takes is winning the election (a simple majority of electoral college votes) to be able to ignore the will of the minority." you literally confused the UK for the US. I mean fucking hell. youre not only stupid, youre uninformed.

Retarded or baiting? "imagine shitting on a system for not electing the peoples choice, while living in a system where the leader is literally chosen by the pre-established powers... was all i was saying." - this argument is what the image is mocking. Just because I don't know the solution doesn't mean I can't point out a problem. Johnson being unable to pass laws without the support of parliament 6 months ago is pretty much the best evidence you can get that the prime minister's powers are very heavily regulated by parliament. If you actually have any evidence for the US putting more restrictions on the executive, link it. I'd love to have a read. Until then, you're just a guy pulling shit out his arse.
2020-03-05 00:31
if you think thats what the image is applicable you have a truly inflated perspective of yourself. your image is implying that youre actually suggesting improvements. instead youre just complaining about it, and showing an obvious lack of knowledge about the reasons why such a political system is used. so from the get go the image is incorrect and even more so a disingenuous portrayal of both sides. "Until then, you're just a guy pulling shit out his arse." what's that make you? i mean its literally the most basic shit. Boris in no way is more limited by parliament than Trump is by Congress. the entire american system is built around checks and balances between the Senate, POTUS and Congress (literally the most basic shit, you should know at 12 years old) while the english one is built to expedite the actions of whoever is chosen by the party in power (again should know this by 12yo). this is only exemplified by the fact that which ever prime minister is leading can only be removed by their own party. the only way the american president is less limited than the english one is because the president represents his country in many more ways than the prime minister (cus the UK still has a monarchy topkek). Or because the president doesnt need as much support from his own party to make some (very basic) decisions. since you still seem to have trouble understanding my point. i was pointing out the irony of you pretending the american system is undemocratic while living in a much much much less democratic system (in almost every measurable way). while also laughing at the fact that youre crying about a system you: a) dont understand b) dont know the reasons behind its structure. made only more hilarious by such a poor picture choice that insinuates you not only understand what youre talking about but are suggesting improvements. since you obviously dont have even a basic knowledge, i found a website that should put it simply. you should instantly be able to tell the difference in the nature of their executive powers. historylearning.com/american-politics/pr..
2020-03-05 11:54

The link you posted talks about how the prime minister has less power than the president. Maybe you should try reading it. A personal highlight for me was "This gives the president that power to make more independent decisions, because people have voted for them personally. The prime minister is expected to discuss things with other ministers and MPs from their party." Parliament can bypass the prime minister entirely and pass laws of their own (as they did in the brexit process). The image I posted is making the argument that you can criticise a system even though you live in that system. If you think noone can even criticise the US system you're a literal drone.
2020-03-05 12:56
please learn to read and think. the ability to make more independent decisions is not the same as the ability to do more (theres a reason gridlock is famous feature of the american system). it simply means the POTUS is able to decide many more arbitrary aspects of the government while in the UK its built around maintaining status quo and like i said before expediency.. the prime minister has much more power all round since he represents the legislative and executive by being the leader of the party in power (once again PM is responsible to his party as the President is to his nation). while the president is only the executive. hence why i gave you the tip of looking at the verbs used to describe their separate powers (notice how the PM can do a lot, in the literal sense, while the President can only recommend or stop things). "The image I posted is making the argument that you can criticise a system even though you live in that system. If you think noone can even criticise the US system you're a literal drone." still waiting for you to produce any actual criticism, instead of just saying 'wahhaaaa why dont we live in a representational democracy'. also wondering when i said you couldn't criticise. im leaving it here. "Parliament can bypass the prime minister entirely and pass laws of their own (as they did in the brexit process)." the fact that you think this point supports the PM being weaker than the President just shows you're lack of understanding with regards to the basics of how each system is set up (which i already clarified). imma guess your political knowledge is about as deep as brexit is old. have a good one mate, good luck learning about the world.

mate the fact that you think what you quoted means that the PM is more powerful across the board (notice how 'power' is a different phrase than 'power to make more independent decisions') than the POTUS just means odds are youre uneducated, uninformed or a teenager. you pick love. hf struggling to understand the most basic aspects of our language let alone our world.
2020-03-05 18:10
ill give you a breakdown on the most basic level. POTUS is head of executive branch. countered by Congress (legislative) and Supreme Court (judiciary). POTUS does not have control of these, apart from potentially controlling parts of Congress. PM is leader of group that controls executive, judiciary and legislative. (in fact there have been reforms over the last 30 years making the PM less powerful in obvious copy of the US, just look at the creation of the UK supreme court).

Jesus christ you're dense. You know you can read articles from both (center) left AND (center) right? There's this thing called common sense where you read an article and you see for yourself if you agree with it or not regardless of political bias. Or you can just be close minded and allow yourself to be closed in an echo chamber of the same political views for your entire life.

There is absolutely no benefit to a country in which all the wealth doesnt get used to improve peoples lives. If a countries GDP is high but the people are doing badly because of the systematic exploitation, it SIMPLY ISNT A GREAT COUNTRY. At least not as great as a country with less GDP but vastly higher societal health such as virtually all 1st world countries other than the US.

2020-03-04 00:25

 |
Norway therealdagon
thats not really true. if u have something really serious u get instant treatment if necessary. I live in Norway, and some time ago I had some treatment that was not urgent, so I had to wait 3 months. that being said, I couldve went to a private clinic and had it done in a couple of days if I wanted. Every country rations care mate, the question is if u should ration based on how much u need it, or how much money you have
2020-03-04 00:50
Norway does not have the same population as the US though having universal healthcare would be so expensive here in comparison

well u already spend insanely much more money on healthcare than other countries, even though you get it way worse. also, studies show that universal healthcare saves money over time, cuz u eliminate the private, for profit middleman

nigga do you even understand how poor an insane amount of people is? Does that look like actual wealth creation to you? And even if it is wealth creation, ALL of that wealth is going to the top 1% and so on. Otherwise there wouldnt be so much poverty for so many people. At we have reached a point where wealth HAS to be redistributed in order for any kind of successful society to keep existing because the current state is unacceptable.

Bro are you honest about inquiring about this subject or are you already in a state of images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-.. because I really dont feel like you are even trying to understand the other side because frankly I think your question is completely fucking retarded and you could answer it for yourself if you even thought about it for 10 seconds instead of going into instant contrarian mode.

2020-03-03 13:50
Are you gonna stop asserting what the other side thinks? What you are describing is communism and this stupid fucking idea that there is EITHER FREE MARKET ULTRACAPITALISM OR COMMUNISM IS FUCKING RIDICULOUS. Learn to have some fucking nuance. The answer to your question in #271 is that OBVIOUSLY that 100% of the created wealth cant have been created by the Top 1% yet they receive 95% of it. In other words, the system is built in a way where 99% of the population work in a way for which they receive almost nothing compared to the value they create. And that is UNACCEPTABLE. No one is talking about equality of outcome, but in proper allocation of the wealth created to those who ACTUALLY CREATED the wealth. And thats only fucking fair.

Last year, Democratic candidate, Bernie Sanders, bought a sports utility vehicle. Three months later, there were two separate incidences of hit and run by an unidentified SUV in his area. Is Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders to blame? Can you afford to take that chance? Can your children? That's why i'm voting for Republican candidate, Donald Trump, a candidate that has never committed vehicular homicide.

Sanders certainly has 0 IQ, he want to repeat in US what has proven over and over to fail. Insane.
2020-03-03 12:03
College and Healthcare being free at the point of service is something that every actual 1st world country has been employing for decades, and they are still EASILY the 1st world countries without going to shit. You are concerntrolling.
2020-03-03 12:36
Sanders love for Venezuela, Cuba and as I said he even honeymooned in good old communistic Sovjet. You have to think that's the kind of socialism he want. Doesn't work. AND Healthcare as we know it in Denmark has been degrading for years with long waiting lists and they forget you in the system.. you are better off with private health insurance, and wonder why politicians children are often in private schools..
2020-03-03 13:13
What exactly has he said in support of the dictatorships of those countries? Because just to use the honeymoon as an example: What did he do? He said he likes the russian food and architecture but they have many societal and economic problems. THAT WHAT HE SAID. Does that sound like a fucking USSR asset to you? I know just from you mentioning his honeymoon that you have no fucking idea what Sanders actually said about the USSR, you just know that he honeymooned there -> therefore he is a commie. Get a fucking grip. The healthcare in my country hasnt been degrading and lets just say I live very close to you and the public healthcare is still unproblematic.
2020-03-03 13:24
Gullible and delusional.
2020-03-03 13:42
Still waiting for what he said in support of the dictatorships. Still waiting for you to acknowledge that he has criticized them a million times.
2020-03-03 14:05
I acknowledge Venezuela, Cuba, Sovjet and other socialist and communistic countries has a special place in his grey heart.
2020-03-03 14:10
See, in #269 you almost seemed as if you were willing to rationalize your stance but now that you have hit a point where you cant substantiate your hatred for Sanders, you are just starting to troll. Tell me, why do I constantly see righties piss themselves whenever I force them to substantiate their claims and they cant do so, so they start fucking around? Why do you never actually have the balls to admit that you are wrong or at least have an unsubstantiated opinion?
2020-03-03 14:12
Cry is Free even under Sanders rule, in fact many more cry under socialism than say Hong Kong, Switzerland etc... so go ahead keep crying and enjoy your "free" stuff and free cries
2020-03-03 14:20
The politicians and those in power will put their children in private school, use private healthcare, it's much better to use private as those places optimize to compete whereas free stuff always degrade over time.
2020-03-03 14:22
If sanders wants to make the US like an actual 1st world country, I am all for it. Danes are still better off than americans on average, and THAT should be the goal.
2020-03-03 14:28
You should strive for a real tier-1 system across the board, not this crap where the rich just use private schools and private hospitals and let the masses use undermanned and low quality tax payed systems. THAT should be the goal.
2020-03-03 14:43
They are only low quality because of tax avoidance and low maximum tax levels. Also, one should strive for the ideal outcome for most people. And if we say it is possible with so much wealth in existence for everyone to have quality healthcare and quality schooling cheap or free at the point of service, we need to make that happen. And we dont make it happen by keeping a system in which most people are unnecessarily and overproportionally poor.
2020-03-03 15:00
Utter Bullshit.. Danish healthcare system is one of the most ineffecient in the entire world, super expensive for what you get.. has zero to do with tax avoidance and low maximum tax levels.. we have highest taxes in the world and the healthcare as I said is super expensive. You are talking out of your ass.
2020-03-03 17:16
Well then Denmark is an anomaly or you are full of shit. usnews.com/news/best-countries/quality-o.. I dont fucking see the US anywhere on there, do you?
2020-03-03 17:54
I haven't said anything wrong, that you fish up some obscure poll doesn't change that fact.
2020-03-03 18:26
You said that the danish healthcare system is one of the most inefficient in the world and thats bullshit. Its not as efficient as it could be, but it is still good and CERTAINLY MUCH better than those of most other countries. oecd.org/health/health-systems/Health-Po..
2020-03-03 18:46
Understand the word inefficient... quality itself is alright but you have long waiting lists and the price is exorbitant, it really is very expensive, you really have to constantly throw money at it to keep it from collapsing. bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-19/u..
2020-03-03 20:38
I know what inefficient means. Ok, looks like I might have been wrong, but luckily Bernie Sanders wants to have the health system like the scandinavian countries of which he usually doesnt mention denmark. So whats your point in relation to the thread?
2020-03-03 20:41
Do you alo know how much they spend on healthcare and private school? You mean Denmark should get rid of unicesal healthcare and public schools so everyone has to pay shittonsof money aka cant afford either of both? Dont you think its amazing that there is universal healthcare and people are still free to choose if they want private insurance or not?

United States theory^
Someone else said this and made rly good points regarding some bernie policies and idk who to support now: yes it is but just like Brexit — short term loss, long term gain — are people will ing to take short term loss ? also: what is civiliza tion supposed to aim to accomplish (free- for - all OR freedom - for - all); my point is that the majority of people are not doing what is ,, best for them '' … should we, the people, provide assistance to those not capable or willing to do they ,, should ''. I ' ll give some examples: ( 1 ) Person doesn't take care of themselves physically / health-wise; is it natural selection for these types of persons to fade away or are we morally obligated to intervene with Darwinism? ( 2 ) If a person is not economically gifted enough; how do we determine the current amount of inequality to account for? i.e., will gifting a TV level the position, or, maybe perhaps a Ferrari shall soothe the discontent? (People today live astronomically better than the humans of olden times — even those people living on a dollar per day.) & ( 3 ) Ignorance may be bliss, but I think we would all agree that we would rather be surrounded by smart people than dumb people. Will offering education as charity (instead of a transactional service) inspire more rational, empirical, scientific thinking — or are we just going to get a circle- jerk of gender-studies, sociology, anthropology, etc. which, to be fair, is more educational than basket weaving at least. [* Note]: Many make the argument that, in fact, those lower in the socio - economic ladder actually tend to reproduce more voraciously. As a result my point in the ( 1 )st example is moot — people less healthy, less educated, less wealthy will actually tend to grow as a population overall. I have actually changed my own mind while writing the [* Note] above: ,,The only way to further human prosperity shall be through charity of wealth, education, and health (i.e., care / access to high quality food / community fitness activities / medical technology & personnel). But, why would I give up my current position to pay more in taxes for the benefit of the country when I gotta' think about my own family. I do put all humans on the same plane of worth — but, even ( you ) reading this gives more of a fuck about your family than random blokes on the street. I'd be down to donate IF I knew it would be spent on a long term investment of that person's standard of living — and not ciggies, alc, lines, gluttony, etc. What am I supposed to do? Vote to give my money away as taxes to the government who will then implement plans to spend it? Any anarchists in this forum? Any people think people get complacent forreal forreal on the government teet? What is the incentive to redistribute my money to people — who, once they acquire said funds, will they themselves have absolutely no incentive to ,, get their own '' as it is said. I'd be down to kick it and do fuck-all as well, as a matter of fact. (Like, watch CS:GO games all goddamn day.) I would vote for universal healthcare and education, BUT only at the expense of social ,, bull-shit '' welfare. I understand welfare in hard-times and crisis, but handouts at this time? I don't even understand the public housing expeditions — homeless / don't have funds to survive in urban city — these people have no business being integrated into buildings at the center of a bustling metropolitan center where production of value requires high skills. Send them to farm food for Christ's Sake. Or, as the meme goes: ,, learn to code ''. There is a reason, however, why that meme is such a joke: anybody can't do anything. The difficulty I think is weeding out the bad actors from the good actors… Some people just need some encouragement and move on. But most look to take advantage (as they should I suppose). Mates … I am so goddamn undecided — been a Bernie supporter since like 2015. Registered as a Republican like a year ago. Looking to transition from non-voter to voter this year. I ' ll probably just vote 3rd party cause I not feeling either or. The real move is voting local & state. That is where shit matters forreal forreal. Stuff in your own City Hall. Stuff that actually impacts you

Bernie is the people's choice - look all of you Americans out there and others as well. Take a look around you and the people you know, how many billionaires do you know personally? Zero? Here is a piece of information for you, they fucking hate you. They despise you, they think you are a sack of shit and that you are not worth anything and you should not be treated when you're ill unless you're able to pay three times more than the avg 1st world country person pays for the same treatment. The entire billionaire, media and political establishment is LOSING THEIR SHIT right now. For the first time since any of us has been alive, they are scared as fuck. They know that there are thousand times more of us than them and that should we ever REALIZE that, its the end of their corrupt bullshit regime. Bernie might not be the real revolution, but he is the best thing we got and an actual decent person since fucking forever. And most importantly, HE HAS ALWAYS FOUGHT FOR THE WORKING PEOPLE. ALWAYS. He doesnt take corporate money, he doesnt make backroom deals, he doesnt talk one thing and do the other. He is the fucking real deal. So unless you are a billionaire, you should vote for Bernie. If you dont, you're voting against your class interest. Thank you for listening.
