easier to believe in god cuz if he is real then it's ok but if u believed in him and he doesn't exists you will just die and that's it
2020-02-13 19:58
with your logic, then it's a pobability question. the probability of god exist is probably 0.0001%, while 99.999% god doesnt exist, and why will I ever waste any time on praise something that's so unlikely to exist, like it doesn't even worth 1% of my time.
2020-02-13 20:05
it is more likely to exist than not to
2020-02-13 20:27
nOnOnO. I spent my entire life studying science and chemistry, it makes 0 sense to have a 'God', 0 evidence of any god exist. Even if it exists, it's definitely not one thats in bible or koran or buddhist texts.

I'm also more of an atheist than believe in god but big bang theory doesn't have any evidence either.
2020-02-14 00:36
Well, as a trained 'Chemist', I only believe in stuff with real evidence, big bang might not be real, but I believe mankind should find the real creator of the earth, rather than day-dreaming about some wild ass man with a circle on his head to be the called 'GOD'. If theres a creator, we will find it, investigate and study it, not worship it in anyform.

You are the dumbass here. You do realise it's all scientists' speculation at this point? Current science tries to explain something beyond our comprehension. In the middle ages a general consensus was that the Earth is flat because that was the only conclusion they came up with contemporary knowledge. Doesn't mean it's true. Our current science and theories are not final and they will develop over time. I do hope you have the basic intelligence to understand that.

2020-02-14 12:32
I've read Qur-an, and justifying your belief with probability is not true belief. In order to accomplish true belief (and to be a Muslim), you need to sincerely believe in god, not even slightest doubt of gods existence. It'd be like trying to trick the god, It doesn't work like that, in Islam at least. I'm an atheist by the way.
2020-02-14 01:13
I agree you need to have 100% faith in Allah, but to make a point, you can say you are playing on safe side, nothing wrong with that. Actually that was the answer of on the Prophets companion (Ali) to atheist.
2020-02-17 00:47
They can, I suppose. Although, as far as I know they must do what their god demanded them. In Islam for instance, it's demanded to pray five times a day everyday, be fasting for a month every year. Which is huge dedication. There are still 'Muslims' who don't do these and still claim that they are Muslim though. Depending on what their god said, they are just faulty as me if not the same in their god's eyes.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) Only son = himself, because there is only one god. And tbh what a fucking rubbish sacrifice. Absolutely nobody gained anything from that. And is it even a sacrifice? He's a god for christ sake (pun intended). As if it is a big deal to come here to chill out for a while and get nailed. Oh it must've hurt so much. I recall that the god should have been eternal and almighty. And then all of a sudden getting couple nails through some body (which you can create and heal as many as you want) is a big deal. "shall not perish" = WE FUCKING PERISH BECAUSE HE CREATED HELL AND SEND US THERE IF WE DON'T PLAY HIS STUPID WORSHIP GAME. If he is real I rather perish in hell than worship this insecure cuck. I have my standards.

Atheism doesn't really make sense when the Universe seems to be set up in the most perfect way for Humans to be able to exist on a planet in just the right place, with just the right sort of Magnetic Field that can and does deflect most of the very harmful radiation from the Sun and high energy galactic particles etc If that rather large Rock hadn't landed on the Mexican coast then the Earth would still have been covered with all sorts of Dinosaurs etc which would have complicated our rise to sentience over an approx 6 million year time span. From all of the documentary's that I've seen about Quantum Physics, Cosmology etc it seems really unlikely that we are just here strictly by chance. We are too lucky, i think.

It hasn't been an extreme amount of time, it's only been 13.8 Billion years since the Big Bang ! Universe is expected to live to Approx 10 to the power of 100 years or 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years from now... Until the Heat Death Arrives at least ! Why are we alive at the very start of it all ? Why are we alive on the most perfect Planet that we could possibly be on, at the most perfect Time in the Universe's entire history both past & future.... There is more to it than Random Chance, why now when we can see the edge of the Observable Universe ? Why not in 500 Billion Years when all other Galaxy's have gone beyond the edge of the observable universe due to dark matter & dark energy ? Why now, in this time of Stars & Galaxy's ?
2020-02-14 00:25
"Why are we alive at the very start of it all ?" How does that matter? "Why are we alive on the most perfect Planet that we could possibly be on, at the most perfect Time in the Universe's entire history both past & future...." Its very VERY far from the most perfect planet imaginable and your "time" argument is probably the most random gibberish I have read in a long time. You are rivaling Deepak Chopra here. "Why not in 500 Billion Years when all other Galaxy's have gone beyond the edge of the observable universe due to dark matter & dark energy ? Why now, in this time of Stars & Galaxy's ?" Yeah exactly, why? This implies inquiry, not jumping to God-of-the-Gaps.

Does inquiry imply that ID is impossible ? We have no proof of anything, i just assert that it seems dammed unlikely to me that a Universe sprang from the Void and magically created just the right sort of sun with the right sort of planet at the right sort of distance to keep it just warm enough for life to spring from nothing and for that life to get bombed & blown into oblivion many times just to create Humans with their curious minds at just the right age & time in the entire Universe's history.... Yeah... Nope, that's like me winning the EU Lottery every 3 weeks for the next 100 Years. On a Friday too... While scratching my arse with my left hand and drinking a beer with my right and avoiding every single drop of rain on my way home, in Britain, the Home of RAIN ! Far too improbable isn't it ?
2020-02-14 00:49
M8 honestly, you havent looked into the criticisms of ID even once in your life, have you? I didnt say that ID was impossible at any point. I said you are not asking the question of "why?" you are jumping to your favourite answer. I feel like I am reading yet another level 1 theist argument from some backyard philosopher who thinks that hes the first one to come up with this argument. Just fucking GOOGLE it and then come back to me.

Its funny how it seems unlikely to you that the universe "sprang from the Void" but you think that a magic god created it. do you think we are lucky to be born on earth ? Do you think earth is perfect ?There are literally millions of planets like earth in the universe. Do you think we being born in a planet with Magnetic field is something magic ? How could we live in a planet that doesn't have one ? You act like humans are perfect and we being creative is something magic LMAO. There is something you should read about: EVOLUTION Its not like earth is like it is for us. We are here because of it. Also, #90 is absolutely right, your argument is nothing new and it has been debunked many times in last centuries.

How many steps does it take to go from a big ball of super hot rock 4.6 Billion years ago to Humans, Cities, McDonalds, Sat Nav, Nascar, Facebook, HLTV etc ? Far too perfect, even down to the quantum fields which define what Quarks do at any given time. Look up Quantum Field Theory, it's super spooky how it all "works".
2020-02-14 00:24
The fine-tuning argument has many flaws, the anthropological principle just being one of them. Primarily these flaws lie in the assignment of seemingly random probabilities to certain modalities of earths habitability to fit the narrative that they are incredibly ridiculously unlikely to occur even though these numbers are either calculated in an absurd or just completely unbased way or the fact that they might depend on each other is ignored.

Not simplistic at all, you have no proof that everything self assembled in under 4.5 billion years... You simply believe it, with no evidence.... Have approx 1400 books, have read all sides. To me it seems improbable that we are simply an accident...

All your comments here are the same thing with different words. Something with 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% of chance of happening happens every moment because of how inconceivably vast the universe is. I think it's very unlikely, considering the postulated and theorised history of our incredible planet, all of the things that had to happen in just the right way for us to exist happened just because it happened ? Everything on The Earth is just a 1 in 500 billion trillion chance ? I don't think that's the case, the odds are very much against it imho.

I have a lot of arguments, but being honest nobody cares about arguments, how much people changed their mind after u saying an argument? probably nobody, if a argument really change a mind, almost everyone in a debate would change their mind, that's why I don't care anymore about opinions, for me, it's more important to someone change a opinions studying than hearing an argument, so if u want my argument, I would just say to read book of scientists and philosophers like Hawking, Nietzcher, Darwing etc.
2020-02-13 21:19
Wtf, you don’t care about arguments, but recommend people to read books filled with, guess what? Arguments. Great logic. By the way, using other more educated and in depth people to discuss in your side because you can’t even show a proper argument is a strong negative, I feel bad, honestly, I just hope there are less people like you.

Just one more quick thing. I am not saying that there is a God in the clouds who watches & judges everything you do, every minute of the day & will send you to a place where you will burn and suffer forever if what you do displeases Him. I am saying i think it's incredibly unlikely that we are here by random chance. Think of all of the things that had to happen to create life on Earth. Think hard and long. More than 4 Billion years ago our planet was hit by another planet & that's how we got the Moon, which by the way many Scientist's believe played a Major role in helping to mix the chemicals & protein's/ amino acids & sugars that are necessary for life to start due to the Tides caused by our over sized Moon..... What people call Intelligent Design has to be a possibility, too many unlikely things have happened to enable Us to exist.
2020-02-13 20:01
It’s just as likely that we are here by random chance as it is likely we are here for some purpose.

Nope, you're wrong. It is totally Unlikely that we are here by Random chance. There are too many steps to go from not life to Humans for it to be Random chance... Look it up for yourself...
2020-02-14 00:00
it doesn't matter how unlikely something is, as long as the chance isn't 0 it can still happen. Especially if you make billions of 'attempts' as have taken place since the universe originated.

There are thousands of events that had to happen in just the right way and in just that particular order for Humans to be able to get a pillow delivered from IKEA Online... One missed step & you neck ache for eva ! All of this is by Random Chance in only 13.8 Billion years ? Where is your evidence that billions of attempts have been made? You have no evidence of this, this is just making shit up to try and win a Philosophical argument :)

Yes, that is true. Those unlikely things are conditions for life to begin with. Life in the universe is extremely rare. But universe is also incomprehesively large. For that reason we might not even be the only intelligent life form that exists.
2020-02-14 01:07
"Where is your evidence that billions of attempts have been made?" It's called astronomy. There's billions and billions of planets in the universe that all could, under the right circumstances, have created life. Unlikely as that may be, it's quite logical that it would happen at some point.

Hi, you might not believe this but I'm willing to bet that i love Astronomy more than you do, am fascinated by Space and Cosmology since i was about 6 yrs old. You still have no evidence that Billion of attempts have been made. Our telescopes can't analyse the atmosphere's of other planets YET. So we have no proof, either way, do we ? All i'm saying is that I think it's dammed unlikely that we are here by random accident, i can't see that this mean's that there is no GOD/Thingy that started the Universe in such a way as to produce US after x amount of billions of years of Stars exploding thereby seeding Space with just the right amounts of Stuff to eventually produce our Solar system in such and such a configuration...
2020-02-16 23:23
We don't need to analyze the atmosphere of anything. By "attempts" I simply meant the amount of planets that exist. Out of all of these only a few are in the right range of size, distance to their star, etc., but either way they could all be considered samples of a random variable (or a chain of variables). At this point, we can't really tell just how likely it is that life originates on a planet since we don't know whether life exists anywhere else. The fact that it was humans that evolved probably says nothing about the probability as it might as well have been any other species evolving, it's all random and every random experiment must have an outcome.
2020-02-17 00:40
every action in the universe is a random chance. If it wouldn't be us living on the earth it would have been something else. I don't really see your point.

If every single action was a total random chance, why hasn't the Yellowstone Supervolcano blown up recently ? Why hasn't the energy state of the Universe dropped to a lower level in all of that 13.7-8 Billion year history, which would have lead to a Vacuum phase change wiping out everything at lightspeed ? Why haven't we been hit with another massive Asteroid in the last few hundred thousand years, we seem to be over due by a few million years... At least ! Why haven't the Biologist's found a new intermediate form between one species and a new species ? And yes i know it probably takes millions of years between forms but as far as I've read and seen, not one has been found anywhere on the Earth. I do have Darwin's book, he explains that thing's mutate without explaining the MECHANISM of mutation, he calls it random natural selection, fine, then where are the inbetween forms, as far as i'm aware none have ever been found. Plz Correct me if I'm wrong, would love to see some actual proof of what is just a theory... I think it's unlikely that we have gotten Lucky just by chance... I really do think that it is very strange that we live on this beautiful Blue White Orb, at this time in the History of the Cosmos.
2020-02-16 22:54
1. That's not how probability works. It's possible that something that happens with a 99% chance on a single attempt doesn't happen for hundreds in a row. 2. The borders between species are entirely arbitrary and designated by humans, essentially making a continouos spectrum of genes in individuals discrete. Every intermediate form could theoretically just be called a new species since the definition of a species isn't even 100% consistent.

I didn't even watch this sh!t. Why do You even care if people believe in god or not? The only thing that matters about people is how the treat each other. For example I don't really believe in God but if he's there (i doubt that), I really hope I will be able to talk to him after I die and tell him that he's most cruel guy ever and his religion is a joke

Naah man, I just love that part about god and abraham. It makes me believe more n more everyday. I have a right to have my own opinion and for me christian church is most toxic and cruel istitution in the world and Vatican as the "leader" should be burned.
2020-02-13 20:14
Oh, you mean the part where it says to not be over religious and do insane acts “in name of god”? Yeah, such a bullshit thing! Wow, desiring people to be burned alive and killed, not to mention the amount of people affiliated to the Church that would be fucked by these acts, for example, in my city the Christian Institution offers classes of many types and food for the lesser parts of the society, like the ones who lives at Favelas. Yes, you’re indeed a huge intelectual.

This is it, christian church always had two faces, one - kind and helpful, second one is all about blood. No offence but christian church have really bad history. I don't know the word for this in english but when I was younger I really believed in god, I was this "kid" who's helping priests with mass. I was behind the altar, helping him but I have no idea how its called in english
2020-02-13 20:22
I understand what the Catholic Church did, that’s why even as a God Believer myself, I don’t fully support blindly all their actions as they were once used for personal motivations, instead of the great good. Buuut, something that is kinda explicit in the entire Bible is that we should be able to forgive ones, we should fight fire with water and instead of judge and fight, we shall try to understand and slowly integrate our thoughts into it in hopes of change. Yeah, I know what are you’re talking about, I have a friend who wants to be a Priest and rn he’s like the Priest coadjuvant.

So I was this thing when I was 12yo or smth, then I quit. There is a long story why I stopped belieing and I don't wanna post it here because there is no point. I believe in karma, good deeds, treat others like U want to be treated and it makes me happy but I don't wanna believe in god. I know that some part of me is believing and it wants me to believe but I don't want to. I have a reason for this. I respect people who believe in god and karma at the same time. I hate people who say "yea, I believe in god" and then they act like sh!t and hurt people.
2020-02-13 20:31
well, yeah. I see those kind of people you mentioned at the end as people that are lost, they just believe in god because they most likely believe in something like that: “Ok if i act like an ass and be religious i will be at heaven”. As for your first paragraphs, I understand you, but I’ll say something to you: There is no need to be a Christian in the molds of today, you can be like me: I don’t go church everyday or try to act super boring, but once in a while I try to confess myself and I always try to be the best with others, with this, I know I’m doing my part.

2020-02-17 01:36
atheism has no dogma and you can't reconsider it because it's the presence of common sense. Atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods. Many come to this conclusion just on the sheer lack of evidence for there being a god or gods others come to it by actually taking a rational look at their religion without all the bullshit and brainwashing and seeing all the contradictions in it and see how many of these religions are just ways to keep the plebs in check and for people to keep their power over people.

2020-02-14 00:36

2020-02-14 00:58
Isnt it better to live in a bliss than dont believe in anything? That you actaulyl believe that everything becomes black when you die, instead you can live forever happy in heaven? Also, if an atheist is right and there is no God you might think a christian has wasted his life. If the christian is right and there is a God, the atheist has wasted his eternity.

So you don’t really believe in God, you just pretend to in order to get the insurance? And he literally said that it would be nicer to live your life as a Christian, as you believe you are going to heaven after your death.

I do believe in God, no way the universe is a coincidense, but just stated that it is better to believe in a life after death rather than nothing.

Spirituality makes sense in a manner that is not religion. Religious groups are in for only one thing, power. Having belief in something greater doesn't automatically mean god, but it can mean exactly something greater, even understanding. So in a sense, yes atheism makes more sense as you think and act on your own behalf and take actions for it. Religious people on the other hand tend to act according to what their holy book says and that takes away their guilt even if what they do is wrongdoing.
