Such a godlike band you just can't dislike their songs. One of the best metal bands right now. Amazing live showings, great songs, great motives, great personalities. How do i stop listening to their songs over and over again?

2020-02-17 13:05
Well i dont like them at all but if you like power feeling you should try listening to Par le sang versé by Véhémence or Zum Horizont... by Antigone's Fate.
2020-02-17 13:10
I don't know .... Sure, sounds heroic and all that , but at the same time they are like the audible equivalent of keyboard warriors since they haven't seen a day's worth of battle in their lives but sing about it as though they were there. Kind of like how Americans tend to say "we" when referring to war or their nuclear arsenal like they are more than just a fart in the wind when it comes to the decisions the country makes in those regards. But sure, some of their songs are pretty good, can't deny that.
2020-02-17 13:10
"As though they were there" And how the fuck do you think they're supposed to sing it ? They're SUPPOSED to sing it with passion
2020-02-17 18:02
How? Well, they shouldn't. I could imagine if some old veterans listened to it and got outraged how their lives are portrayed through their music. You don't think about that, yet it concerns those very people, pretty ironic. They also have no shame in glorifying any which side of war, one moment you're supposed to feel sad and overwhelming empathy for the destruction of war, yet on another song you're supposed to be feeling unification of the German Panzerdivision and whatnot... Very contradicting to say the least. So to conclude your question, again; they shouldn't.
2020-02-17 21:18
You're supposed to be feeling unification of the German Panzerdivision ? Fuck , so I have been listening to their songs this entire time wrongly , I was supposed to feel like Rommel blitzing through France ... Maybe I like the lyrics , and yeah maybe you're right , maybe they shouldn't sing about it , but I can say that listening for example to The Last Dying Breath does make me proud of my ancestors who died defending Belgrade , but whatever man , you listen to what you want , I just stated my opinion , but I also respect yours.
2020-02-17 22:54
youtube.com/watch?v=qeAEdU4p5Cg I mean these guys singing makes more sense, they've seen some serious shit, so that completely condones everything. Sabaton makes good music from a musical standpoint, but their lyrics are fabricated nonsense they have no first hand experience with whatsoever, they just watched too many movies and now think they know what it's like to serve in the army or something. I don't know, I pretty much categorize them as the same type of people who walk around in stolen valor in that regard. There are of course plenty of songs that are conjured up through imagination, but when it's based off of real life genocide events and entire people's lives being destroyed that all actually took place... I mean, huge 'bruh wtf' moment for me, but yeah, 'whatever man' sums it all up nicely I guess.
2020-02-17 23:17
They have hired historians for proper accuracy in their songs, they sing from the perspectives of "national heroes" and what they've dealt with. (To Hell and Back) was an example, is heavily inspired by Audie Murphy himself. They are telling stories, singing about them, not acting as if they were a part of it. Of course you have a band that comes off from I'd assume the Yugoslavian related wars, but would they be able to sing about a song for the Croatians, while they may be Serbs? No. Not a proper one at least. Sabaton tells stories, doesn't glorify it, doesn't overrate them, and especially doesn't act like they're a part of the war or was a part of it.
2020-02-17 23:31
I don't agree with your last points as they are entirely open to interpretation. "Armored tanks of mass destruction, killers in the east, rats who dare to stand before us, feel our guns go live." Glorification, overrated, sung as though they were on the frontline themselves.
2020-02-17 23:35
Would you consider "Mass destruction" a glorification? Send 10 T-34 tanks against a Tiger I tank, guess who'd win? Most likely the Tiger I, unless it'd run out of ammo, which is very unlikely. Killers in east, same reply as for above. "On the frontline themselves", it is called a different perspective. Would you consider it a better song, if they sang "The Rats stood before the Germans, and the Germans started firing their guns" Does that sound properly lyrical to you? Guess what, the Germans had a way superior armored division compared to the Russians. Before calling out stuff, you'd at least need a bit of research on the subject before going on about it. Sure, some of it can seem like glorification, but there's no need to deafen the truth or reality. EDIT: Most of the very awarded German Tankers got their medals and honors from the eastern campaigns. Even before the Tiger tanks, the Panzerkampfwagen III-IV-V was still very relevant.
2020-02-17 23:47
I don't know all their songs man, can't really give you an answer on your initial question. I just think they definitely glorify aspects of war that are in very poor taste, that's my view on it. There is just something about 4 beerbelly mantit guys who look like a mixture of an Andrelon commercial and American road-truckers from Texas singing about war in this fashion that is very wrong... Again, the example I posted previously condones such an action since they have actually seen some pretty heavy shit. You're not a very good fan of them btw since you're mistaking 'Panzer Batallion' for something WW2 related, hilarious since you're the one pointing out I'm the one who should be doing research on this topic, lol :D It's actually about the desert storm, but that's okay. Still, considering they speak, or sing rather, heroically of one side in one song and contradict them in the next is just wrong on multiple levels... How is it NOT glorification to go like; "Rats who dare to stand before us, feel our guns go live!!!" sung with utter drive like they are gleeful about it or something, hence glorifying it, no? You don't expect me to believe the people attending random festivals hearing this shit aren't pumping their fists in the air going 'fuckyeahhh, guns 'n tanks 'n shieeet', please, it's glorification and I think you know.
2020-02-18 00:09
I was waiting for your reply, because yes, I big time messed up. It is about Operation Iraqi Freedom. There's a difference between fans, I have my own favorites and therefore don't listen to some of their songs, such as this one. Though I must apology for messing up and having a huge rant about it, as much as it would be true if there was another usage and where it was set during the second world war, I stand corrected. If people consider deaths and mass destruction a way of glorification, may god (or whatever exists) have mercy on these psychologically lost souls. I think it is more of a comparison as I saw someone else comment on Panzer Battalion, and perhabs a comparsion to the Nazis and their way of having mass destruction. However, that is only a theory I read by someone else.

"actually", sorry for being a keyboard warrior, but I believe White Death is actually someone elses song that they just sang over as a cover, therefore it kinda isn't the same as Seven Pillars of Wisdom and not supposed to be a song to familiarize with one another.
2020-02-17 23:54
It’s okay, It’s because when I listened Seven Pillars of Wisdom for the time, the song White Death came to my mind.

I’m bored of Sabaton because most of their song became generic and bland, even tough it’s my first metal band I listen to. They have good some good riff and solo. It’s an OK band, it’s just i’m not kinda interested as before.
