trust me 10/10 lyrics. right in the feels. google translate below ) I'm going to buy myself a computer, an optical mouse 1337 and terminate contact with my friends and family For nothing should stand in the way of my CS career I'll be the best of them all yes I swear! I'd rather play CS, smell sweat and male organ Lick Heaton and Potti in the ass, and idle in their channel Maybe someday, maybe someday I will try then I quit school and get a life I'm pretty good at tactics, rushing B2 after buying Colt It's my favorite, Colt and Jolt Have a diet that I follow step by step and bit by bit I do everything to become an Elite

Nah, this is not some popular raper or something like that here in Czechia. This is gypsy rapper who is popular between gypsies only (No, Im not a gypsy, I just know him.) (Gypsies are always trying to pretend like rough American black rappers from the hoods you know...Even if you look at him you can see that xd google.com/search?q=dollar+prync&sxsrf=A..) Here are some popular Czech rap songs, even though Im not fan of Czech rap cuz it doesnt even sound like rap Id say. youtube.com/watch?v=Fx7t5QNzNUM (famous because of the singers) youtube.com/watch?v=1npxbr6Ggnw (this is actually quite listenable Id say) youtube.com/watch?v=mH34kV_kOHg (popular between teens)

They are just artists, instrument is chonguri, this are in traditional Georgian costumes, man in the blue shirt is a guy who wants to get married and she keep denying him, so his father asks him to show her that he is a worthy and a real man. No idea why there is no sound for you in the second video, that's not the case for me.

It begins with a guitar in the back and then both Greek Bouzouki and Greek Baglama together I think. As the instrument is bigger, the lower double strings sounds are from the Bouzouki and the higher from the Baglama :) Google has images for both instruments, you'll find them there

Croatian metal, yes please! Thank you! Also vocalist with a Tool shirt? Hell yes. Part that starts at 1:36/2:57 is probably my favorite part! What an awesome, weird breakdown. Also reminds me of Killing Floor 2 soundtrack, which is not a bad thing. And also this: youtube.com/watch?v=iM_w1vIHWQY

First video, they definitely got the trap aesthetic in 2020 down in their music and video. Quite an enjoyable video and pretty catchy. Is the second video for some competition or something? Sounds like something I'd hear in the background of American Idol or The Voice.
2020-02-17 15:56
Second song is pretty good. First song is the typical trasher influcencer with not talent

Another country nailing the trap beat and aesthetic! Solid. I enjoyed the second song more. Whatever is making that viola(??) sound at 1:37 I absolutely love that.
2020-02-17 16:08
Alrighty! I'll check these out and let you know what I think. First one took a while to get there, but it seriously reminds me of Ramirez and Shakewell and that's a good thing. Second one has such a weird structure... It's all over the place! Third song is EVEN WEIRDER. What would you call that genre? It's like hip-hop but the percussion is so... different! And holy shit that bassline is catchy. Fourth song is kinda eh, not feeling it too much.

2020-02-17 18:27
huh, now that you mentioned i can see some similarities definitely yeah. They have their discography on spotify so you can check more of their stuff there, they actually never hit any commercial success, just a niche that listened to them in Portugal, sadly they had to do most of their shows in other countries like germany, poland and eastern europe, where this kind of folk music is stronger. I had the privilege of watching 2/3 shows when they were active and the venues were always small but hey always delivered. It's kinda sad honestly, portuguese people have an awful taste in music. What i loved most about them is that they experimented with weird instruments, old northic ones, like nyckelaarpa and other weird stuff, was incredible listening to those live
2020-02-17 18:35
Oh awesome! Them being on Spotify helps a lot with accessibility, I'll give them a follow on there even if they are disbanded now, just because I enjoyed that song. It's always a bummer when bands find critical acclaim or success well after they've dissolved. Happens every now and then with bands here in the states, but we don't find out about them until many many years later.

No worries! First song is awesome. The vocals really remind me of a couple bands from Florida here in the states called TROME and Polyenso! And it's ultra catchy. Second video has an incredible vocalist! Also sugary sweet catchy! That part at 1:11-1:30/2:12-2:31/2:54-3:27 especially. Oh man. Third song, I realize it's the same artist from the first video but the hook is the only thing that resonated with me, but it's still very nice!

2020-02-17 22:33
What do you mean no such thing as American music? Rise Against is good. The Sufferer and The Witness is the only album of theirs I could enjoy. Not a fan of FFDP or Avicii but Journey is classic rock, can't hate on them.
2020-02-17 22:39
I can't think of anything genre(outside of MAYBE Jazz) that is uniquely American.
2020-02-17 22:42
Trap. Grunge. And anything made in the border of the United States would also classify. I understand a lot of the music we play originated outside of our country but I'm not trying to make this political, I just want music people enjoy from their country of origin.
2020-02-17 22:44
First song giving me Tesseract feelings, minus the vocals. Very cool! Deciding what to pick next. That Leander Kills track is amazing. That tone on the guitars gets me right in my groove muscle! Periphery sounding guitars at points for sure! Or I guess Meshuggah were the pioneers, right? ;) 2:00-2:07, 2:32-2:47 WERE SO TIGHT! 3:40 reminds me of a band from the US called Bermuda and they are fucking excellent. Curious, why is one called Leander Rising and one called Leander Kills?
2020-02-17 22:52
youtube.com/watch?v=iZf-y00Q-UQ Here's the whole Leander Kills album, I think the whole record is awesome. So the lead singer is called Köteles Leander, he made the Leander Rising, made 2-3 albums then it fell apart. So he made the Leander Kills which is still active.
2020-02-17 23:01
Sorry for the late response, I ran out of posts yesterday. Ahhh, makes sense! So essentially he hires the musicians around him to make the band/music he wants or is it just a case of the band falling apart so the new one just took up the name? That's an interesting little history, I'll check it out! Thank you!
2020-02-19 08:52
Its rather the second. The first band had some internal issues so they fell apart. Then the singer made the second band. Ye they probably just took the name and "elevated" it to the next level.. at first he was rising, now he kills :D (He also has a third one but thats quite different from any of these)
2020-02-19 15:42
I see I see! I'll check out that whole album, definitely my style! :D

Love this! Sounds like 90s hip-hop. Sorry I took so long to respond I ran out of posts yesterday.

2020-02-19 08:04
First video was super weird... Started all happy and upbeat and then everyone dies. :( Ending part was really sad. I'll check more in a bit, trying to play catchup with everyone.
2020-02-19 08:13
it's sad but I like it
2020-02-19 15:14
TDME was really good! I take it you really like ANTYTILA.
2020-02-19 10:01
nice man, one of my favorites songs and yes I like this band
2020-02-19 15:15
youtube.com/watch?v=uMszu_VgMfY I like old finnish music, 10000000 times better than the shit that people who call themselves "rappers" release nowadays, or the songs that are considered "Suomipop" (finnish pop music)
2020-02-17 23:25
Sorry I totally missed this! I like the dancey feel of the piano and the violins! Surely there's current Finnish music you can enjoy, it can't all be rap/Suomipop!

Very emotive! I can tell he has a good voice. Is this from the 90s? Cause his hairstyle and the sound on the piano feels really 90s.

I love the country-esque backdrop. Lead singer girl is really pretty too! Good singer and they have an accordion player, that is awesome. The crowd is loving it! :D

Dude of course Tame Impala is amazing and they're huge over here. I haven't heard the new record but almost every song on Currents is great. Second song was okay, I liked the second half after JM's feature, but the lyrics couldn't keep up. JPEGMAFIA is dope though, good feature. The hook is super catchy I'll probably remember it for the next couple hours!

The guitar player with the green pick-ups and accents on his guitar is my fucking hero. I'm so glad you guys still have super major crowded festivals like this. There is always something different about a European crowd haha. Solo at 5:44 mmmm

Very interesting, not something I would ever hear in the states! Why was there a guy walking around on stilts in the background at points? Also holy lens flare.

Getting a Madchild vibe from the beat on the first song, I fuck with it. Second song was some super downer feelings. What is that anime they use as the background video? I swear I've seen those masks before. Third song was alright, I take it this HODI guy is a lyrical rapper from your country!

That first video is wild! Second video definitely sounds like something I'd hear on classic rock radio over here! With that organ going off... haha! Not bad Third video is.... weird but I've heard this somewhere before for sure. What is Neue Deutsche Welle?? Is that like America's "Classic Rock"?
2020-02-19 09:46
it`s "German New Wave"... late 70s and 80s. many german artists were sucessfull with german music, even international. thats why it`s possible that you heard it somewhere too, without knowing the artist or the song name. for sure you know youtube.com/watch?v=7aLiT3wXko0 or youtu.be/6TBOaX4_Xwc?t=80 lul i realise that many of this songs are blocked on youtube germany. gj jermans
2020-02-19 09:56
Oh! Of course! 99 Luft Balloons and Major Tom. Oh so like.. Depeche Mode, The Cure. New wave, exactly. Very cool! I guess us Americans probably bit that style from you guys, eh? I wasn't alive when new wave was really popular.
2020-02-19 09:59
not balloons! ballons! there are english versions out there, but nena and major tom is jerman and the jerman versions are much better. and no, I dont think so. Especially the New wave is pretty interessting because every country has it`s own style of new wave and there are many "one hit wonders" from different countries.
2020-02-19 10:06
Ahh, apologies. Ballons!!! One of my favorite bands did a cover of Major Tom back in 2008-2009 and I enjoyed that. They were also heavily inspired by the new wave stuff from the past. That's very cool, like I said, a time in history!
2020-02-19 10:08
yes.good time. I think the quality of music is on an all-time-low at the moment. even if I go back to 90s shit like eurodance, which was considered as cheap produced trash.. one more real german classic, the inventors of techno: youtube.com/watch?v=PJM9xpvMbJ0 it`s low quality, but cool because you see the self made instruments the nerds created. they are also the reason why the word Autobahn is famous in US !
2020-02-19 10:11
I agree to that sentiment, however I think music in general is just more over-saturated at the moment. It's hard to compare times of music with internet to times before. The world is like one big record store now, you know? You can go anywhere in the world from the convenience of your home and people you wouldn't want to be able to hear have a voice more than ever. KRAFTWERK is decently known over here I believe! Weirdly, the audio doesn't work for me, which is strange.
2020-02-19 10:16
I have another suspision about music in times of internet and social media... In germany, there is a small investigative journalism team in music relative things. they made contact with a hacker who showed and proved them with a track produced by the journalists as fake artist, that there are services which can boost clicks/likes/follower/playlists on spotify and social media by millions within a few days. Managers search for "cool/interesting" ppl, they produce a cheap album with autotune etc., they go to a boost service and a few days later, a new "instagram/spotify/youtube star" is born. And ppl start to actually listen to them because they have many clicks and followers. They dont have many clicks and followers because someone is listening to their music, they have the (fake) followers first, and then ppl start to listen to their music. you know what I mean? When that`s a thing in "small" germany, it`s a thing in US etc. too.. And now think about all these "lil X" guys etc. again... and all these music styles with no skill requirement. they dont play instrument, they dont really rap, they dont really sing...it`s created for fake artists. these practices led to a serious downfall of quality, because quality is irrelevant. it`s about placing "artists" in social media and make money with the spotify(etc) cashout system, sponsors etc.
2020-02-19 10:52
Oh definitely, yeah. It's essentially what we summarize as an industry plant. People believe they exist, but kids these days could care less if it sounds about similar to their favorite artists you know? I know it's a thing here, in spades. Our music industry as a whole is pretty corrupt and the mainstream definitely rewards style and following over substance.
2020-02-19 11:00
I love that Goldener Reiter video too. From a time long since passed. Thank you. :P
