vs OG on dust 2 and vs Astralis on dust 2.
I think G2 needs to improve their nade game. On both maps JaCkz started every round like -50hp.
They need to have different defaults, etc. Literally the reason for that damage was their defaults from short.
Other than that, I think G2 needs to widen their playbook. This playbook was good enough for this group like OG looked like probably most tactical team. But imagine them vs top tier Astralis.
Even FaZe has cool strats in their book.
nah it was OG.
They were really bad collectively but their nade game in banana or dust2 or their vent play, secret play or their banana control and long control on dust 2 vs G2 in final. All were pretty impressive for a new team.
But they almost beat astralis last year with this team, even tho they were young team. They are looking very good in terms of strats, but there are some details they need to fix. Like utility usage and comunication ofc
yeah they did but it was mostly due to individual brilliance.
I just don't see more than handful people winning head to head 1v1 battle against JaCkz or huNter and combine that with kennyS being able to do anything in big games. I don't see how they couldn't have competed well against Astralis.
I like their strats and defaults and some of the calls but the thing is they don't micromanage. Idk if it is nexa's problem or anything else. They don't give much importance to small details. Like you can boost on box on short and that way you can hold short and be safe from nades but G2 don't do that.
Or they couldn't figure out for 15 rounds how OG used 2 smokes and a molly between the smoke to gain banana control on CT side. Thats the tactical problem. They don't even have variation. They dropped ovp which could've been one of the strongest maps for kennyS.
I mean they could make their map pool of 7 maps but they just avoid ovp. A lot of room for improvement tactically. Don't want to see same thing happen to them as happened to EG.
