Hello, Ive been smoking for 11 years daily, 20 cigarettes and like 5 joints. a few days ago i decided to stop but since i have dependece on tobacco and weed, i decided to completly stop smoking cigarettes and i will smoke a joint of weed at night before sleep. I also started running and this is where my concerns begin. you think i have a high risk of heart attack because i still smoke a joint per day and i didnt make any kind of exercise for the past 5 or 6 years? i dont know if there's anyone with some knowledge about this. would it be better if i just start with walks and with time i start making more exercise and pushing myself harder? thanks.

Mate im going thru the same thing rn , I smoke 1 or 2 joints everyday after quitting tobacco and i go running , i always feel great and i have heart conditions , you should be fine , although i imagine im younger and ive always done sports/exercise

gl dude, its really hard but i dont even want to quit my joint because i think everybody should smoke weed from time to time, not 2 or 3 grams per day like i was doing for sure. im still 26 but i stopped making exercise at the 2nd year of university, before that i was really active and did it in a daily basis but has we know, smokers have a higher risk of heart attack and im afraid im pushing too much.

Ive havent had a cigarette in 4 weeks and 2 days :D . Honestly Ive had moments where i really wanted a cig but instead I just have a joint if i havent had one and im not at work but if i cant have one then i will just use my vape . I only use the vape when i want a cig

and i guess it can depend from person to person. i ask this becuase i know so many people that stopped for lets say a month or two and then they got back. i always thought to myslef "wtf if i could hang 1 month without cigars i would never put that thing in my mouth again"

you have your opinion and i 100% respect that. perhaps you are right but i really think weed should be legal everywhere and everybody should use it responsibly because it can help you in many ways. just an example, my mom felt into depression when my brother was runned by a bus because of him and becuase all the medications doctors were giving to her, i just know if she didnt took that shit medicin and smoked a joint before going to sleep, she would have done so much better. i can point some reasons for why i defend weed, its just a waste of time and not the reason i created the topic.

Yupp I understand, in some circumstances it could be helpful. However, if I were to smoke a joint i would take any other measure before like try meditating for a while, get therapy, or even go on a vacation. If that doesnt help i still wouldnt look at drugs, maybe because I may not be aware of their benefits or rather I stress their consequences more than their benefits.

we are all different and if you can handle your anxiety and stress without any kind of drug, you should never touch them. its always a balance from benefits and bad consequences and i really believe that weed isnt harmfull to you if you take it responsibly but not everybody does it in a responsible way so i also admit its not for everyone.

dude ur body is different than mine, for some people stop smoking from night to day can be the best thing and for others you need to stop gradually, reducing the number of smokes or you will start smoking again and probably the double. for me, as i smoked a lot of cigars and a lot of weed too, i shouldnt try to completly quit both at the same time, i dont say its not doable, its just a lot more hard and the probability to fail is bigger. sure our mind is tricky but if i can just quit cigars and smoke a joint at night i will be happy with myslef, will eventually try to cut the daily joint to lets say from 3 to 3 days.

3rd day without cigarettes, i already can smell things better, i breathe better and food is starting to feel different when i eat. I run for like 10-15minutes becuase i actually cant hold more than that, then i just walk for a while. the first day it was like my body was dead, everything was hurting so much because i didnt make exercise for so long.

The main concern is how to make sure how to not just give up on this hustle. Going all out is sure way to break yourself, so there is no more energy to continue already next day.

im not pushing too much, i run for 10 or 15min and even if i want, i cant hold much more for now. after that i walk for like 30min more and stop. this isnt making me feel extremly exhausted to the point i cant do it again in the next day, at least until now but i dont know if i should ask professional help because i smoked for so long and didnt make exercise at all for 5 or 6 years.

weed won't affect that ( unless u're mixing hash with tobacco) otherwise, jogging won't be of any risk if u start slowly, don't run everyday, start slow like day after day, 1 to 2 km each time, keep that up for 1 week and then do more

Not 100% true. Weed is still smoke going into your lungs. Any kind of smoke going into your lungs is bad for them. While its no where near as bad as the additives in the tobacco cigs, its still going to have a negative effect inhaling any smoke into your lungs. Your lungs are not made to have smoke going into them.

there are physical reasons to smoke or quimical ones to be more precise, such as nicotine and thc. the other part is about ur mind beeing used to smoke when u feel stressed or anxious. so we smoke for both quimical and emotinal reasons.

im making exercise during the day and i smoke at night, after dinner. still is smoking and making exercise and for some reasons this concerns me :S you shouldnt worry about that unless you cant tell for sure if its cannabis or weed that you can take from the street. i imagine in russia most weed is grown indoors so its normal if sometimes quality isnt really the best.

I'm no doctor but i don't think you will get heart attack from running. Afterall your lungs should be so f***ed up that they run on low oxygen which cause you to not be able to very for nor for very long. but i don't know.

just arrived home from 1 hour walk, spent 10 minutes of that hour running a bit. 4th day without cigars, its hard but ITS NOT THAT HARD AS I EXPECTED. if we put in our minds we want to stop, we can do it, no matter what is the vice or drug. i already have 20€ more in my pocket and its the 4th day.

5th day no cigars, just arrived home from my 1 hour walk 10min run. feeling i can already walk for 2h and run for 20min but im not gonna rush it, next week i will push a bit more. will keep writting here to see if i can encourage someone else to stop smoking. much love..

7th day no cigars. breathing so much better in such a short period of time. already able to run for 20min without a problem. i have 70 € more after this week, i predict i can save around 300€ per month so i should start thinking where to invest that money. life is beautiful mens))
