plus, someone disagreed with the OP. The counter was the Nordst people are even worse with their spelling. So even if this is true, the person who said "no" NEVER said we should use some kind of Nordic spelling for anything, or anything related to that whatsoever.
Norse spelling being bad or confusing does not invalidate #5 from having his opinion, albeit a brief opinion without choosing to share any reasoning.
I have yet to hear any proper or sufficient evidence from anyone that we NEED spelling reform, so I would say the burden lies with someone proposing the change to tell us why the change is needed.
English, when properly used, works quite well. If people with bad writing are hard to understand now, making different rules won't make them easier to understand. There are 2 main reasons people's writing can be hard to understand: 1) They don't speak good English yet or 2) They are not following rules of English, which makes them hard to understand regardless of if they are new to English or a native speaker. Changing the English rules will fix neither of these problems.
If we want spelling to be improved We just need to support the Americans as neighbors by telling them we want them to Elect Bernie Sanders. He will make them speak better English, I am sure of it. He is the kind of guy that could be an honorary Canadian, except he yells too much. We only like yelling about hockey here in Canada.
