Your Event Experience

Have you played in a CSGO event? Like ESEA or maybe some online leagues, what were your favorite parts of those events and who did you play with (and play for if you played for an org.) Personally I’m still playing with a small organization based in Oklahoma City called Malevolent and recently been jumping from small event to small event and playing ESEA Open.

And EU Open is stacked with 3k elo teams, that just formed cause they want to get to Advanced or higher. But whenever I go in NA Faceit, the people still shoot better, how?

No but I went to damn near every MLG event from 06-09 when I was a teenager playing on a Halo 3 team and had no responsibilities. Were some of the funnest moments of my life.
2020-02-19 17:24
If you want to have that much fun again I would recommend methamphetamine

Right there with you, played halo from 2013 to 2016 then I switched over to CSGO. Some of my favorite events have been from my halo days!

Do you get paid on Malevolent? I helped set up a LAN in San Diego years back and played in the TF2 tourny they had. We got shit on by the eMg guys.

Can’t disclose to much about my contract with Malevolent. But it’s been a great experience playing for an organization that cares about its players and don’t care about trying to make a profit.
2020-02-19 17:30
Okay. I just asked if you get paid or not. If you can't tell me if you get paid or not because of your contract, whew boy.

You are either overly stupid or some shit, because if you can't disclose if you get paid or not, which is never in a contract if you play for an org, then you have to be lying.

I think you missed the “I can” part. The reason I don’t want to talk salary (especially to randoms on hltv) is the fact that you guys don’t need to know 1. If I get paid and 2. How much it is. I have the right to not disclose these details.

No one asked how much, they asked if you do. It can't be more than 30$ a player, for an organisation that is supporting an ESEA Open team. I mean, I don't want to be a dick, or agressive. But I can't see some organisation paying more than that, because no profit.

You’re not super far off but there are other incentives and bonuses that help with a lower salary.
2020-02-19 17:58
i think he should just be happy if they pay his fees for esea and server stuff why would a open team have salary? xD

Because some newly formed organisations, owned by 19 year olds that decided to pay for a website usually pay you once a month and then run out of cash to continue to do so (personal experiences). If they pay them, then I can't see the organisation profit in anyway. The only thing I would pay an ESEA Open team, if I signed them, would be FACEIT Premium and league costs.

You’re not super far off but I’ve known the CEO for a while and we’ve done Alright in other events well playing Open (Playoffs in 3 straight events and getting the team on Liquipedia with Mustache Masters)

The best way to start is to make a team with a few friends, just play in some faceit point cups for fun and maybe sign up for a free discord league. If you have a decent rank in ESEA or Faceit I suggest checking out R/Recruitcs which allows layers to find teams.
2020-02-19 17:47
- my IRL friends are wayyyy behind me, no other friends who are interested in such stuff - 3k elo, tried looking for a team on RecruitCS, the results? well : 1) was supposed to be tried out, got unfriended after 2 days without a given reason? 2) very weird "mix", not even a real team lol they play like every 5th day, I'd rather not 3) seems the best so far, but still waiting, he is waiting to finish this season of ESEA 4) got messaged, I replied, no reply back since men( 5) straight up denied since it was like a week after my post and I already lost enough motivation men((( why am I getting denied by normal, good teams? I can't figure it out, is it my age or nationality or what((

I doubt it’s nationality (but it’s been a while since I’ve lived in Europe) And I didn’t say IRL friends, make a team out of the people you’ve played with recently that were fun to play with.
2020-02-19 17:53
Well I just don't see any other reason then Damn that's not easy, since I soloQ'd my way to 3k elo through free 5v5, and the few friends at my level aren't looking to play in a team... the main reason why I started searching for one again after more than a year was because no matter how hard I carried I just kept losing on FaceIT... down 200 elo as of right now

Well man I wish you the best of luck! Especially if you are as high elo as you say you’d be a good player for many teams!

Cheers men, appreciate it, good luck to you too! I guess time will tell, I believe I will get a chance at some point, hope you can get to a higher level as well!))

Don't look in that shit site, just queue FACEIT and if you are good enough you will find players there. TeamFinder used to be good, but it's down, reformed and no one is there anymore.
2020-02-19 17:57
Well yes but no, I soloQ'd to 3k elo whilst playing free 5v5, so as you might guess - not that many non-toxic, "good" players The few that I've added and I'm friends with aren't looking for a team... I'm just starting to lose motivation, down 200 elo despite the fact that I've put in huge amounts of effort and I carried nearly every single game, don't know what more I can do when my teammates are toxic in the voting lobby already

Subscribe to ECL, and play in the LEGENDS Hub, and try to go for FPL-C qualifiers spot.
2020-02-19 18:02
If nothing else works - I will have to result to that, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford it since I'm still only 15 and have no stable source of income yet But I also heard from different people that players in ECL are quite toxic as well, do you know anything about that or?

In the lower divisions yes, LEGENDS division even semi-pros with HLTV profiles, participate in. ECL is only 5 euros, you could easily ask your mom, as it's nothing.
2020-02-19 18:05
Alright, cheers for the input, I will probably try it out and see how that goes, if it's only 5€ than I should be able to afford it.
2020-02-19 18:07
just add people from faceit games you click with and make team with them

Yeah but knowing about these leagues is something I want to do. These small leagues are entertaining to watch, especially if they build up player stories.
