2020-02-19 19:23
will see. don't think he should be worried about making money on twitch. just took a short way out tbh pokimane still on twitch while announcing months ago about moving to mixer allegedly :3
2020-02-19 19:28
It's not like he can't return to Twitch after his journey with Mixer.
2020-02-19 19:36
yes he can, but hardcore fans are small percentage. average pleb makes your most viewers

Okay but he didn't have a stable income, it depended on streaming everyday for 10 hours, playing games his viewers wanted just to get those donations. With Mixer he signed a multi-million dollar deal where he gets a basic salary over those three years or whatever it is and about 8-13 million per year. He doesn't have to worry about having 20k viewers every night, he can play what he wants, and he doesn't have to depend on those people showing up every night to give him money. He still gets donations and subs, but he doesn't need it is the point, he has more time to actually spend time with his GF or go out in public
2020-02-19 20:49
instability and stress lol? the man got loads of money aswell from twitch and other sources, i doubt he was having a hard time financially! But he probably got a offer he couldnt decline from mixer

financial stress is a thing
2020-02-20 06:23

it's cause he's got a natural talent for fps games, but his personality is dry and boring as fuck. i also never watch streams anyways but how can people enjoy watching that boring shit lmfao. easily entertained peanut brains.
2020-02-19 19:41
"natural talent" everyone has "natural talent" when you spend as much hours playing FPS than him. I never understood these "Gifted aim" type of sentence - everyone is "gifted" when you spend countless hours in games.

yeah but its not over 10K often, thats 10x less his average on twitch. thats kinda fucked
2020-02-19 19:36
any streamers career is bound to die eventually. he used the fact he is currently peaking to secure a long term financial secure deal. guy is smart

i think mixer was the biggest loser. they tough bringing shroud and other big streamers will bring twitch viewers to mixer but it didn't work. it was an L for both Shroud and mixer.
2020-02-19 20:09
I watched shroud when he's in Twitch, and when he switched, i just don't bother to even download mixer. I don't think he "killed" his career by moving to mixer tho. Although i heard his viewers are down compared to twitch, i believe he made the decision to switch from Twitch to Mixer because he got offered something that he can't refuse. He basically got an offer that makes him set for his life. 10 mil for streaming 3 years is a lot of money man. You just have to sit your ass down, play the games you like and not too worried about the income really (although i believe he still earn respectable amount of money in Mixer) I doubt his popularity changes, its just even he said it, that some people don't even know he's switching to Mixer because Twitch is just the number one streaming platform that everybody knows. But he's still known by that ex-pro C9 player that become a streamer.
2020-02-20 04:32
LOL "killed his career" he got tens of millions for the deal...with his prior earnings + he owns at least one house and this new deal he's set for life EASILY. He can retire tomorrow and be fine for the rest of his life. Plus, he still gets 5-10k viewers on average, obviously lower than Twitch but that's to be expected.

2020-02-19 20:37

He could get 0 views and it doesn’t matter. Dude had to have made insane money going to Mixer with a buyout
2020-02-19 19:17
yeah but after 3 years when he is free he could come back with 500 viewers lol
2020-02-19 19:22
Then he can just retire and move on. As long as shroud isn't an absolute idiot with his money he should be set for life at that point
2020-02-19 19:47
Idk about them I remember tuning in to his stream once and he was bragging about how he spent over $100k on the floor in his house
2020-02-19 23:21
who cars about viewers when he has enough money to spend rest of his life on a private island
2020-02-19 19:21
pretty sure when he gets back on twitch he'll recover 80% of his previous viewers quite fast
2020-02-19 19:24
dont think so, esports moves at a fast pace. average twitch pleb will forget about him. probably half his viewers still think he is playing for c9
2020-02-19 19:30
the thing is shroud can play any FPS game, so time will be always in his favor.
2020-02-19 20:01
Is it just me or is shroud a boring personality Like you see at his stream wow shroud has 20k viewers But you can never remember them I don't But try XQC... you can remember wtf am i doing lol

Guaranteed money is why he took the risk of switching platforms. That money won't be guaranteed forever and if mixer fails to build enough of an audience, Microsoft will dump it and that will be bad for shroud, at least in the short term. I'm not trying to make fun of shroud, but this is interesting news for sure. People who think that shroud doesn't care about his viewer counts aren't actually looking at it from his perspective. He certainly wants more viewers, more money, more success, and he won't want to do anything that could damage the longevity of this already uncertain career path.

Why is he so popular? I dont watch any streamer so i dont know what makes you more popular than other streamer.. is it just the fact that he was fairly popular in CS community before streaming?
2020-02-19 20:03
Viewer number doesnt really that matter for him from now on. Shroud did the second best decision of his life after retiring from pro CS. He prolly earned more money with a single sign with Mixer than he would earn with Twitch in a couple of years. So why waste years with Twitch when you can earn more money with a single sign? That dude is a pure prodigy and the alive example of "how to make easy money"

Why waste time with twitch? Maybe because you are actually passionate about the whole community you've built?
2020-02-20 08:59
u could clearly see his getting burned out from all that streaming, give this man some rest. and a community is not based on a platform but on the fans! if u stop watching shroud just cuz hes on mixer ur not a real fan anyway.
