>they are stupid children who think its easy to become millionaire Some of them are and do, but many, like myself, just think if you study and work you can have a nice life, not everybody needs/wants to be rich, but what i want is that my work is valuated depending on it's difficulty, not that everybody get the same
2020-02-21 16:52
"not that everybody gets the same" = bernie wants something like the nordic countries which are far from everybody gets the same unless you exaggerate a lot "i want that my work is valuated depending on it's difficulty" = rightist parties are mostly interested in making your costs to your employer as low as possible (esp. if it's some large corporation, small family businesses don't get the same treatment) , not in paying you a fair wage

 |
Latvia Matematikis
I exaggerated alot, but what i meant to say is that, why should an long term unemployed person recieve the same benefits as someone who works a fairly bad job? One gives something to society, other doesn't and because alot of money goes to people in need, the person who wants to work and improve can't because there is no money for education etc. You might say thats not what happens in nordic countries, and thats true, but remember they are rich mostly because of their past, their current social construct cannot and will not survive in the long term. And USA is a whole other beast. I am conservative, not rightist, so i want a smaller government and more individual responsability

denying social benefits to poor creates criminals, think of it as a fee to crimeless society or a ransom money. These people will always exist, normal distribution effect works everywhere so there are little number of people trying to squeeze money out of the government so they would be able to not work. Absolute majority of people are motivated to do things on their own and unemployment benefit just gets them back on what they already paid into the system. BTW these benefits are not being paid like couple of thousands of euros for the rest of your life, that doesn't exist anywhere. Also unemployment money if they are close to your wage gives you very valuable leverage to say fuck you to shitty boss because you know you won't starve to death. Also that creates a generaly better work environment for everyone because shitty bosses will act less shitty.

wait till you get to some office environment, you'll be in for a surprise. Getting further by working hard does way less than you want it to do and social things between people is what gets you promotions and bigger wage increases. That's a generalization of course, I know it's not literaly everywhere like that and of course it depends sometimes slightly, sometimes more on the type of work you do and your managers. The same is with working on your own. If you are contractor or start a company, you need the means to market yourself and people with bigger starting capital have very big advantage. You can be world class programmer, carpenter, designer, etc but how good you are at what you do is just a part of what will get you further

It has to do with the hours that are counted in the statistics and the unemployment rate. When there's such a huge amunt of people working at least 2 jobs, and 60 hours per week, I think it's safe to say that the unemployment rate isn't telling the truth about how functional the US market really is at the moment. But yeah, it's obviously only at the bottom working class that aren't educated... one of these groups being single mothers.. unfortunately.
2020-02-21 09:31

Still not really an argument. Bernie argued for billionaires buying their way into the presidency or accepting huge donations from large corporations that buys their way into political influence, not against the fact that people are bad for having money. And what would it matter anyway, it's about politics. Idolizing political figures instead of comparing their issues is just simply stupid.

Bernie argues against billionaires and donations when he leads the democratic field in donations raised. He’s a joke he’s a clown he’s manipulating the people. A rich guy crying about rich people. Go fucking figure. Not 1 not 2 but 3 homes. Drives a car worth over 100k. All this from being in government. U should look up what people in government make. Lots of jobs held by common middle class workers make the same but yet they don’t own 3 homes.

The average donation towards the Bernie campaign is, as far as I remember, around 18 dollars. They don't accept donations by corporations, it's grass-roots. There isn't a single person that can be an influential politician in the US without being rich, it's just simply a fact.. so either you choose one that has values that you believe in or you don't, there isn't a single person in the senate that isn't filthy rich.

Exactly his grass roots. He’s rich and taking from the poor. He don’t get corporations donations because he’s saying he will take everyone’s money. What they gota do is only allow people who pay taxes or are retired vote and u will see Bernie wouldn’t get shit for votes just like any other democrat. Working class for conservatives Health care is a shit show because of government school debt is a shitshow because of government. Republicans are for small government democrats are for big government. The 2 biggest things the left talk about are things they created.
2020-02-20 13:06
#45
 |
Denmark Notallama
So what? Without that money in the first place, you simply can't run for president. He is not forcing anyone to donate, people will donate with what they themselves think is fair/what they can spare, instead of having huge corporations influence your political goals. I fail to see how that is controversial. "Health care is a shit show because of government" "school debt is a shitshow because of government" Both speak in favor of Sanders campaign though? "Republicans are for small government democrats are for big government. The 2 biggest things the left talk about are things they created." A gross simplification that isn't even remotely close to the truth.

2020-02-20 14:33
those weren't his full tax returns. he still hasn't released them and it's obvious that they would make him look really bad. also clearly it's more than just "loop holes" and you are a hypocrite for ignoring it

United States Trump2020KAG
I’m a hypocrite if I support Trump and he tried hiding everything he did. Trump has admitted many times about his taxes and all his bankruptcy filings it’s all loop holes because stupid politicians let it slide. It wasn’t just Trump who did them things. All the rich do it. It’s bad laws rules and regulations on our governments part. The job of a CEO is making as much money as possible for the company. This is why Trump cut taxes and simplified taxes. Now more people are paying taxes. After the tax break the US collected some 20 trillion a month in revenue. A lot of that is because of all the tariffs but in the end tax breaks mean more money.
2020-02-20 15:45
there is no excuse for him not releasing his tax returns and there is no reason to believe anything he says. if it was true then why not release it? you are delusional if you can't see that the guy is straight up scamming you. > After the tax break the US collected some 20 trillion a month in revenue ??? this literally never happened, the annual federal US budget is like 4 trillion and I think total government revenue per year is like 5 trillion. so you are saying tax revenue went up to 120 trillion per year?

The numbers u are talking about are just from the tax break. That’s not including all the benefits them tax breaks created. More jobs higher wages bonuses etc etc. investors.com/politics/editorials/trump-.. My numbers are off but this is what I’m talking about. Tax breaks = more money for everyone
2020-02-20 17:11
your numbers are off by a lot though. this says 17 billion per year increase on income taxes, that's just 0.8% and pretty terrible in a growing economy. overall federal revenue is up by just 0.5%, so even worse. anyway, none of that justifies Trump not releasing his tax returns.
2020-02-20 17:18
#172
 |
United States Trump2020KAG
That was the first 3months of the tax cut. Cutting taxes puts money in people pockets. That why America is BY FAR ahead of everyone else in disposable income. We have extra money for doing what we want when we want. Extra money means extra spending for doing things like shopping going to a movie a concert a sporting event buying new cars buying clothing etc etc etc.
2020-02-20 17:23
cutting taxes only helps rich people and your already terrible government services and infrastructure gets even worse. plus you even have to pay for education and health care, so your taxes aren't even really low. anyway, none of that justifies Trump not releasing his tax returns.

And the cost of living is cheaper here also. U just point out the bad things but say nothing about the good things here. I wana spend my money how I wana spend it. I don’t want the government telling me what I can and can’t do with it. I want the government as far away from my money as possible.

You keep trying to change to conversation. And we have no way of knowing what's in his tax returns because he doesn't release them. It really doesn't matter what he "admitted" as there is no reason to believe him. Most likely what's in the tax returns is more damaging then what Trump claims, otherwise he would just release them. 2020-02-21 18:50
In 2018, Sanders’ adjusted gross income was $561,293. He paid a 26 percent effective tax rate on that adjusted gross income. In 2016 and 2017, when Sanders also earned significant income from his books, his effective tax rate was 35 percent and 30 percent, respectively. Their itemized deductions primarily consisted of mortgage interest, property taxes and charitable deductions.

Public utilities being the major example, while the state also controls the rails, the mail, education, publically availably TV&Radio and obviously health sector as well. But it doesn't really matter as those are not the issues he echoes anymore. Defining him for what he said back in the 70s in a different political party rather than what he's campaigning for right now is seriously grasping at straws..

Ok I agree with that term except we don’t have 1 billionaire we have thousands of them just like we have millions of millionaires. Companies ship jobs out because of how high America’s Corp tax is. China is half as much and many many European countries are also cheaper including Germany who is one of the world leaders in manufacturing. Things like that chase companies away. It’s the reason why under Trump a lot of companies started manufacturing in America again. Lower Corp tax lower taxes means more job growth and better wages. So far under Trump every aspect of the working class is up.

"stealing peoples property and their labor and redistributing their earned wealth is immoral by definition" That is implying that there's any need to steal in the first place. The only reason why that would be "immoral", would be that the system in place prior would be something like capitalism. You are comparing, not basing your judgement on a singular political ideology. How they work in theory and how they work in practice are two completely different things. Stop mixing them up.

I don't advocate for socialism or communism at all, I'm just trying to make you understand how ideologies work in theory.. I'd encourage you to read up on it. Of course the moral culture of western countries are shaped around the thought of capitalism, but in other countries, cultures are shaped around equal amount of work and shared responsability, regardless of intellect etc. Of course the Soviet collapse had a lot to do with how an economy works in a communistic state, but there were also many other factors that lead to it. Capitalism isn't perfect either, as you've seen in the US with the immense wealth inequality, unfair wages, financial crisis' and unaffordable medicine. The thing is, democracy and capitalism are also extremely flawed, it's just the least flawed ones there is, at least in modern society. It's also true that socialism has had more tycannical and murderous leaders subjected to it, which is probably why you find it extra immoral, but that doesn't have much to do with the ideology itself.

ofc they are flawed, its just wrong to suggest that marxism is somehow moral and our morals are not built around capitalism (Our morals come from ancient greece and jerusalem) but capitalism was built around our morals Furthermore while naming capitalist issues Why is wealth inequality a problem? Someone earned more money than you so what? We should be happy that people are doing good, everyone is better now than before the invention of capitalism. Someone are just more better off than others

Ask yourself how it's moral that your boss earns more than 500x more than you, when you're working equal hours and equally hard. Is he entitled to earn more in an hour than you earn in a month, just because he has a degree.. or because he had an idea? Capitalism isn't exactly morally perfect either, and you also have to keep in mind that morals are subjective. Morals are shaped by your upbringing and what you are used to, and most modern morals stem from religion. It's all subjective, just like politics. I personally stand for finding the best elements of each political spectrum and see what works best in practice, which is what a social democracy is all about.

We dont work equally hard, we dont bear the equal risk we havent even worked equally long. He had to work for making the idea of the business, gettign the funds, getting any equipment needed, doing all of the paperwork, taking the risk of failure You get exactly what you agreed on, it is not immoral if you say you will work for 10$ an hour and then get paid 10$ an hour. Capitalism works on free individuals interacting in a mutually consentual agreements and that alone makes it the most moral economic model for the world. Moral relativism is largely problematic as there is clearly some kind of universal moral law everyone in the world has aknowleged for quite long and believed in... just looking at the spanish and the natives who just happened to have pretty much same fundamental values... coincidence? highly unlikely

"We dont work equally hard, we dont bear the equal risk we havent even worked equally long." What does "hard" even mean? People that are mining in the coalmine all day in 40celcius don't work as hard as the boss that sits in his chair determining the value of the goods to prepare for sale? What a load of bullshit. While his job might be the most important and require one of the most uncommon intellectuals, it does NOT mean that he works "harder". Especially not 500 times harder. Yes, you get what you agree on.. but when the alternative is homelessness, starvation and death, I don't really see that as a free choice. It works great in a society where the average wage is good and the working conditions are great, but not in a society where you have to work 3 jobs just to make a living.. with no safety net, no union backing you if you get unexpectedly fired, no paid leave, barely any maternity leave.. nothing. A lot of the country aren't even allowed to leave work on election day, while we see that holiday as a given.

People that mine in a coalmine have a rather simple job, while the boss had to, build a mine, bear the risk of the mine having nothing, setup the mine, setup the working conditions in the mine, go into debt for buying the mine etc etc You dont reall die if you dont work in the western world, although we all know that the rule is this "the man who does not work shall not eat" but we have kinda forgotten it If you have to work 3 jobs you have really fucked up your negotiations

No, it was never his job to "build" the mine, nor was it his job to setup working conditions.. that would be the job of the workers and senior executives.. not the boss. "And in regards of the minmum wage, we dont have one in finland" We don't have one either. It's negotiated by the unions. I feel like I'm talking to a door

Okay so maybe we use any other example than mines say a business where you sell something, you dont start with many workers and are usually the one working the most in the start because you cannot really afford many employees, furthermore you wont be making anything for ages, lucky to break even so once you start making profits who are you to take that away? In US multiple job holding rate is 5% of which most are 2 not 3 job holders And negotiated by unions is very different from state forcing you into a wage, negotiations are just free men agreeing to something mutually beneficiary

I think social security needs to be cut at the very least I would rather not cut education, healthcare maybe needs to be cut a bit cuz it is a HUGE cost in our budget. In regards of social security I think at the very least you should not give benefits to those who refuse to work. But again, we probably have to cut everything a bit, raise the retirement age etc. But truth be told people dont really like to give up our "free shit" so it will be a challenge
2020-02-21 09:42
I dont think there are a significant amount of people who want to live solely on social security for years of their life. As far as I know it's about 500e a month, on top of that you get the housing benefit, but that isn't all that much. You won't really be able to live a meaningful life with that amount of money.

Not old enough to move yet, and luckily we are not that socialist for now, although we will have an economic collapse in the future cuz our welfare state is unaffordable and nobody rly is willing to give it up. Only reason we can keep this up rn is because we are getting so many loans

Charity actually helps great deal of people out of poverty, you would be surprised. And voluntarily helping people is altruism (a virtue) while forcing someone to help someone else at gunpoint is compulsion and theft (vices)
2020-02-20 19:45
You know what else is compulsion? capitalism. work for and submit to oligarchs like mike bloomberg and trump or starve to death, and forget about affordable healthcare.

2020-02-20 21:52
But socialism has a very different meaning in the US. Anyone who advocates for universal health like other countries is considered a socialist
2020-02-20 22:55
If its that, then its very misleading as socialism means giving the means of production to workers, not advocating for affordable healthcare
2020-02-20 22:56
Maybe He calls himself a socialist because in the US, that's the picture of socialism. Everything but full Out capitalism is socialism. Something Like social democracy Just doesnt exist as a Term in the US. It's extreme vs extreme.

2020-02-20 21:00
So? The US has a perverted Idea of socialism. Socialism means the poor are taken care of. No one is stopping you from having money. But if you do pay your fucking taxes and help out those in society who need some help, build schools and make sure people aren't used as slaves. There are rich people in Scandinavia and no one has a problem with that. He is socialist not a communist. Go to school
2020-02-20 21:16
Scandinavian countries are not socialist
2020-02-20 21:26
you have a perverted idea of socialism. Socialism means that the means of production are owned by the workers.
2020-02-20 21:30
Thats communism. I have never heard Bernie ask for companies to be taken out of private hands.
2020-02-20 21:49
no that's socialism. communism would take it even further and abolish social classes, the monetary system and the state.
2020-02-20 21:55
Thats socialism And the reason you havent heard him ask for it is because he isnt a socialist

Bernie Sanders has been a socialist since his teenage years, where he had a very humble and working class upbringing. He was able to build a nice amount of money (not millions I believe) over a dual income with his wife and 50 years of work. After his 2016 run for president, he made a book which made him a nice bit of money which made him a millionaire. None of this is antithetical to socialist views, and even if it was, it wouldn't make him wrong. Capitalists and their bad arguments...
2020-02-20 21:45
Ad hominem it never fails, if you can’t win the argument go for the character.
2020-02-20 22:36
You do realize that 3 houses are not too much considering he has 1 at his home state, 1 where he works and 1 long time for holidays? I have 3 as well, I don't really see the big deal..... Doesn't change anything that he says, his net worth is 2 million, Bloomberg is 70billion. Pathetic try to get the discussion from policies to not relevant smear attacks.
2020-02-20 23:23
The holiday home isn't something he even bought, it was left to him from his wife's parents after they died.

Hang on, you're talking about The Bernie Sanders, whose Honeymoon was in the Soviet Union, that guy, right ? The IDIOT Communist ! Wow, you halfwits continue to fall for all of his bollocks do you ? Incredible to see, on HLTV of all places, supposedly the home of Geeks & Nerds and yet you seem to know fuck all about Socialism and what it INEVITABLY leads to. It leads to massive numbers of people dying, generally. See info about the Ukrainian Holodomor* anywhere on the Web. Fair Warning to you all, the Pics are sick making* If not death it leads to squalor, to misery, to the destruction/annihilation of the hope of a better tomorrow, it leads to the crushing of the human spirit and the death of human ingenuity, for instance take a good luck at Cuba's Cars, all are totally shit death traps compared to modern Western Cars, most are the products of the USA circa 1950's era USA ! Where are the new cars built by this wonderful Communist inspired ingenuity ? A. There aren't any, they can't design cars cause anyone with any sense takes to the Ocean on a fucking inflatable to get the hell out of there ! Ever seen pics of people in Cuba ? Glum, down trodden sheep, who are scared of their own shadows.... I've been to the Former East Germany, have met lovely people who had nothing but terrible tales of what it was like to live under Socialism, most i met hated this evil ideology with a passion. Go & read about the Stasi (East German Secret Police), and all that they did and plz think about the fact that this happened not too long ago.... In Western Europe too! Socialism leads to Communism, which then leads to Totalitarianism, which then leads to Death for Millions of People. Just one more thing, plz buy Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's Book, The Gulag Archipelago if you can find a copy. Then if you can bring yourself to do it, read it. Most horrific book i have ever read. I tend to think that some people in the West think that Socialism is a workable idea cause they have never read that book. Have any of you read that book ?

You are dead wrong... His Policies are the thin end of the wedge, how blind are you exactly ? He went on his honeymoon to the effin Soviet Union, didn't he ? Many decades later he is STILL arguing for the same sort of policies.... Even though that horror failed and collapsed. Still he thinks it's a good idea. Years ago he said Millionaire's Should Not Exist, now that he is himself a Millionaire he says that Billionaire's Should Not Exist. Nothing but jealousy from that man and it show's, doesn't it? If it looks like a Duck, walks like a Duck and Quack's like a Duck, it's a bloody Duck ! What more do you need to know?

Because you are socialist, you have to be poor. What a narrow thinking. You're subscribed to populism, men.

there's a big difference between being a multimillionaire with 3 houses and being poor.. there's a lot in between also Bernie literally never worked in his life, never created anything, never helped anyone, never donated to charity.. all his money came from donations by people that believe into his cursed words

After graduating from college, Sanders returned to New York City, where he briefly had a variety of jobs, including Head Start teacher, psychiatric aide, and carpenter.[28] In 1968 he moved to Stannard, Vermont, a town small in both area and population (88 residents at the 1970 census) within Vermont's extremely rural "Northeast Kingdom" region, because he had been "captivated by rural life". While there he worked as a carpenter,[30] filmmaker, and writer[43] who created and sold "radical film strips" and other educational materials to schools.[44] He also wrote several articles for the alternative publication The Vermont Freeman.[45] en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Sanders But go on attacking the man rather than his policies, what else can be done to take down the most popular politician as if right now amiright 😎 Bernie is so Noble to stand against wealth inequality and tax himself higher too 👍

so basically he briefly worked for maybe a couple of years in his entire life i guess he truly loves his hero Karl Marx, he decided to live just like him

"never helped anyone, never donated to charity" are you stalking bernie sanders? "all his money came from donations" Yeah his campaign money. And i'd rather have somebody get his campaign money from millions of donations instead of just buying his way into the election to save his billions of money or getting his campaign money from billion dollar companies.

btw why all candidates are so old, USA today is like a USSR - only 70-80 years old politicians with diapers. This is ridiculous.

They whine about having them too old and then whine about them being too young. And then the politicians left in the middle are all just meh, corrupt like bootigieg, or don't have a chance
