Valve devs

It's known (not rly, just rumours) that Valve has around 20-30 working for Dota2, CS:GO.. a bit more for Half-life:alyx.. I wonder how in the hell, do they do it? only 20-30 people? its unbelievebly low, but i guess their method of work, goes well for them. Then u look at Riot, 600-1000 working on Project A, (who knows for LoL probably more). Blizzard, a few hundred as well, but they all counting money so it dont rly conut CD Projekt Red, around 500 for Cyberpunk.. Almost all even PUBG, Apex legends have over hundreds. And still a 20 developed shooter that has 8 years, and 20 years of history beats new games? xD Ye community is part, but not all of it. If Valve would of fucked up game would of died at 2012, when game was terrible and they fixed it all. I wonder why dont they hire a lot more people?

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
Quality > Quantity. Use Blizzard as an example. They have a lot of devs yet their games are still dogshit (Yes, WoW, I am looking at you)

recent times it has been dogshit (with the development) Otherwise it is/was the best game ever made .

"Otherwise it is/was the best game ever made" more delusional than Sam2k and that says something

It's just the most community friendly game MMO, and has the basics of being a good MMO of playing together, grinding and getting awards for it. oldschool WoW was great, until they started releasing new expantions every year cuz playerbase was quitting, and ruined the game for many. And tbh, Black Desert Online isnt a bad MMO. It just has bad reviews cuz of the WoW neckbeards btw.

2020-02-21 17:08
there isn't anyone working on lol I can tell you that
2020-02-21 17:00
true, they making new champions. And then u release them, ok 2000 extra $$ for u. I played and still play it randomly, and i hate the game. Its lost its essence it had once it came out of simple, easy, fun, competitive.. now its retarded OPs piece of garbage champions than need 1 and a half item to 1 shot u.

True, Rockstar and CD Red have like 2k employees across various offices
2020-02-21 17:04
They loaded.. If u have good quality in the work place then u can do amazing stuff but I find it even too much overload.

but it works both ways I think the more people work on the project the higher the chance of different visions. I think CS:GO is benefiting from small dev team. But surely they should work a bit on it
2020-02-21 17:27
True, I think there is more stability the way Valve does it, and good thing is they respect the legacy of the game, and don't release a huge patch changing everything just cuz we got 400 Devs who don't know shit lol I'd rather have 30 experienced and knowing the game very well over 400 who probably would ruin it in 2 weeks.
2020-02-21 18:02
idk who but someone says only 2 people working on cs
2020-02-21 17:06
That was TF2 lol that game they left it to rot
2020-02-21 17:22
greed of money
2020-02-21 17:09
Why would they hire more people? They can continue the job they are doing without having to pay extra people.
2020-02-21 17:12
valve devs move around based on what game they think needs more resources. also there is a massive difference between developing a new game and maintaining an existing game, so comparing it to project A or cyberpunk doesn't make much sense. also the definition of "dev" is quite vague. it's basically anything from "anyone that works on the game" to "purely programmers".
2020-02-21 17:11
there are main valve devs which are the 20-30 main devs when there are big project, valve rents the services of some studio to work with and they make big asss games such as alyx...

Blizzard gets 15usd/month from each player paying for wow and they charge for every expansion. CSGO is f2p
2020-02-21 18:03
Where do you have these numbers from? 600-1000 probably include all sorts of of people that aren't actually developing anything
