You do the thing that is the opposite of what the other player would expect you to do but because the other player is stupid they didnt expect you to do it in the first place or even realize you could have done it. So because the other player is worse than you they outplayed yourself because you were playing to a higher level
no you just made a mistake by overrating your opponent. your ego is getting in the way of logic. you rather blame other people doing something stupid than blame your ability to make optimal decisions with the information you have. on this example - don't try to represent a hand against someone that isn't thinking about your hand. beginners on poker only look at what they have and make decisions based on that.
My dad has been playing for like 20 years. But i do always expect that whoever i am playing against on any game ever that they are doing the most optimal decision even if they are bad players which means they wont most of the time.
I dont know why that is. Like i play arma 3 and me being a good fps player i still expect that anyone i run into will be as good as me or better than that should not be the case. Its like a mixture of like negative thinking, inflated ego, and low confidence
