Name one normal person who would want to become a psychologist...
Totally agree. Idiots trying to heal themselves by helping others. Help yourself first
because they can relate to other mentally unstable people
Personally i find psychology really interresting, i think it's the control/manipulation aspect that draws me in. Had i not been studying towards a job in IT i would've definately done psychology.
Idk, why are all the theology students religious? Your guess is as good as mine
cause experience? you can better understand people if you dealt with it personaly
you dont visit psychologist to hear lines from a book you can read it yourself
you probably go there to know how to apply certain methods, find out what suits your needs more, talk to someone who understand your feelings and can relate cause you probably cant do this with friends or family
never been to psychologists atleast not yet lmao
definitely unstable with PTSD and depression
probably gonna study psychology at some point, already have plans to read Carl Jung :)
just to back up your statement :D
I can say with certainty that of my class, 90% chose the profession due to a depressive or bipolar history.
I'm pursuing a psychology degree but have no intentions of becoming a psychologist/therapist/counselor/psychiatrist.
You probably have that stereotype because the field is a favorite of the undecided (there's some crazy statistic out there that like 1 in 4 US students are a psychology major at one point, yet most of them never end up with a psy degree)
Look at the amount of fix teams threads here, it seems most people can't (or don't want to fix) their own life but like to give advices to others. :D
And who is mentally stable nowadays anyway? )
Self-diagnosis and therapy = cheaper than paying someone else.
psychologists/psychologie is a fake proffesion
sue me for my opinion
Read up on J. Krishnamurti. People have subconscious contradictions in their thinking, and because they survive in a wealthy society _anyway_, they have no need to repair/update/correct these contradictions. They stumble into situations where they feel they have no options, they feel stuck or they feel that nothing works, and that is when they must face the contradictions. If not brought aware of these contradictions, they will continue their path until too neurotic to continue, or end up in places they really wouldn't have preferred.
