Most likely it'll be cancelled. CS's community is too international around Europe and Katowice has always been one of the events that sees tons of ppl flying in from all over Europe. It's pretty damn unsafe to host such a large scale event with people from so many countries converging.

But i wonder why they think about it when most of the people are in trains and planes... it's too late

Yeah, it's really unfortunate timing. Today is the day when the virus really started spreading in Europe. As in, we had some cases in countries before, but today there's been confirmed cases in like 8 new EU countries and the amount of potential cases is skyrocketing. I guess it's still better not to allow all those people to converge in one place though, even if some damage could have been done by now.

Yes probably. I wonder how much money will city and organizers lose if they decide to cancel it. Im here in Katowice from monday already tho

A lot, but you'd hope that the government would at least attempt to reimburse public event cancellations. The last thing governments globally should be doing is trying to avoid losing money when they could literally suffer decades of setback economically due to this virus.

One of the senators from Katowice asked "Did you canceled the event, or if not, how do you judge danger level? Minister of health answered - decision about canceling will be taken by province governor. Everything will be known today

I don´t think they will cancel the event. At the most they will not allow the public to attend. I doubt it though...

yes, that what i meant.. that they will play without the public, but for me it equals with canceling the event. Katowice without spodek isnt katowice
