LMFAO, and those were the same talking points from Obama, who hasn't kept a single promise he made back in 2008 when he became president. As for Trump, 1. Most of our conventional forces have been pulled from Afghanistan. The few that remain are some infantry units but majority Special Forces/Special operation type units. 2. A lot of manufacturing jobs have been brought back to the U.S. Not all (and probably never will in this global economy) but many have been brought back. Do the research 3. I'll give you that. Taxes haven't gone up, but hasn't really gone down either. What he has done though is raising the military member's pay. With all that said, I would hardly call those "lies." There have been more fuckery in the white house compared to anything Trump has ever done.
2020-02-28 11:01
+1 people just hate trump, to hate him. i am yet to meet someone with a well-informed and balanced view who HATES trump like the majority of kids online/established media do.
2020-02-28 11:12
Indeed, Obama was not better in the first 2 points. What Obama didn't do though is got 9million Americans of healthcare and give tax cuts to the top 10%. You see, I thought it would be worse under Trump I'm not gonna lie, What he did with the Iranian General was very very questionable but the Syria war from Obama was as well. But the points are: - The amount of people in America who are uninsured or under insured are dramatically high, why not adopt any european system with a fully single payer system like in Denmark (proposed by Sanders for example) or at least a program which makes an insurance for all while keeping the private insurances like here in Germany. - The richest country in the world has no free or affordable advanced education which would make the myth of the American dream so much easier. We have seen in many European countries the benefits of free advanced education, how many people In the US are suffering under student debt or how many didn't even attend an university because of it is ridicolous. I am really happy that I could study here in Germany without the massive risk of debt. - Many people are living in poverty in the US, while a minimum wage increase is not the only solution, it is a pretty good one, it has worked quite well in other countries, at least there is some base to live on, and not 2 jobs, working 16 hours a day. This has to be done in order to fight the massive inequality that is arguably present in the US. A country where 70% of people have no personal savings and the top 0.1% owns more than the bottom 80%. -Like it or not, the climate change is a thing, it has to be fought for our children and the future of them. It is undeniable that the probability of a man made climate change is close to 100%, something has to be done. And creating jobs in renewable energy, switching cars from fossil fuel to electricity (or hydrogen or whatever emission free) and all of what needs to be done is not the end of the world. Thats why the US needs someone else as President, not a corporate Democrat like Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden, but a progressive like Bernie Sanders. For me it is not so much about what Trump is doing but about what he is not doing.

You do bring up a good point on this country's health care issues, but Obama did not do jack shit to make it better. What he essentially did was force health care coverage on the average person, at the behest of the insurance companies. That was not creating a universal health care, it was strong arming people into buying health insurance. Second, education is a flop in this country and youre right, we have terrible public education system. This country still has some of the top universities in the world (if not the best) but everything down below is a mess. Education cost is something that needs to be looked at more carefully, as well as the students own responsibility on not taking outrageous loans which they can't pay back then complaining about it later. People need to own up to their own personal responsibilities. As for climate change, sorry but Obama's EPA regulations did very little to regulate anything. But yes, I agree, climate change and pollution (especially) needs to be discussed more and a solid solutions needs to be put in place. Regardless, whoever becomes the president will never act out on their own accord. They are told what to do from their backers, which are the central baking system. This isn't a conspiracy it is just facts.

The American people voted for Trump and he hasn't disappointed. Record low unemployment for minorities. World's greatest modern economy. Small business tax reform that primarily helped and continuously helps local minority business' thrive. Prison reform that rolls back racist bills passed by Democratic leaders in the 90s. Right to try drugs for individuals who need treatment that is regulated in their state. Made Martin Luther King Jrs. hometown a national landmark. The list goes on and on. socialism doesn't work, look at the thriving economy of Venezuela... socialism destroys countries, and i get it, people like bernie sanders for legal weed, "free college and free healthcare"... but they dont realize that they just raise the taxes in order to pay for those. It will only destroy a country, and the united states is doing very well with trump. Lowest unemployment almost ever, thriving stock market and thriving economy. Trump may be a little rough around the edges but is making this country better and people are just out to get him, and thats why everyone has a negative perception towards him. However he has been a good president. Im open to hearing peoples opinions but can't seem to find one positive about Bernie Sanders.

Free college or free healthcarefor all is achievable. Just get the money Jeff Bezos makes in one day. The problem is you think Bernie is a socialist... He is not. He is a social democrat. You idiots pay 20x more to same medicines i can buy in Turkey, because your governments cannot stand up against giant pharmaceutical corporations. And those are made in America lol; i can buy them cheaper lol.

lol by not taxing the rich you create people who stash all their money and leave others starve. Instead having one billionaire, you can have 1000 millionaires... Let me ask you, how much really do the billionaires work? They just work to secure their position and benefit from the security the system provides for them.
2020-02-28 09:23
You either believe in capitalism, or you don't. There's no middle ground. It's not like billionaires just grew from a tree. Either they did something extraordinary, or their parents did.

Jobs are a supply and demand type deal. Only one person could have run Amazon like Jeff Bezos did, and it is absolutely necessary for someone to the CEO of Amazon, so therefore yes, he should be paid lucratively. And having 1000 millionaires or even 100,000 does far less to society than having one CEO of Amazon, whose service you use at least once a month, but for others that would be every week. Literally billions of people use Bezos' services which is why the supply and demand of his job is totally viable. (P.S Only a fraction of Bezos' net worth is from Amazon, he has made a significant number of investments elsewhere, so his 131 billion dollars isnt all from "exploiting" his employees And yeah, income taxes on rich should exist, but not bernies' style

By the way, the rich never pay taxes. I'm talking about the super wealthy people in this country. Bernie is an idiot, when it comes to economic issues, simply because he thinks he can solve our problems by redistributing wealth. Tax the rich, thus trickling it down to the average minimum wage worker. It doesn't work like that. If he truly wants to fix the America's financial problem, he needs to go after the federal reserve and the artificial fiat growth that comes with the central bank. But of course he won't, because he has no fucking clue and honestly probably doesn't even care.

United States caliprep
It doesn't work because there are so many loop holes for the rich to move and hide their assets/money. But thats really besides the point. Take a look at what the Washington Posts says about the Federal Reserve. "Institutionally, the Fed is insulated from the rest of the government. Its funds come not from Congress but from its own operations; Fed governors have extraordinary long terms; and so forth." - Washington Post. So the entity thats printing our money isn't even part of the government. For every dollar which is printed by the Fed Reserve, it is owed back on interest by the our government. Essentially were in a perpetual cycle of debt, and the Fed Reserve can print as much money with ZERO accountability. Our dollar has ZERO value as its not backed by GOLD or Silver. There are only 2 reasons why the dollar has any value, one is you can only buy petro in U.S. dollars and two, its considered the worlds reserve currency. It's no wonder we're deeply entrenched in the middle east and desperate to take down any nation (Iraq, Libya, and so on) that wants to drop the dollar for another currency. YET Bernies dumbass doesn't talk anything about this. Fuck the social political issues, this needs to be addressed first.
2020-02-28 21:24
We already had very high marginal taxes rates post-WW2. It's nothing new lol
2020-02-28 18:44

 |
United States caliprep
What does that even mean? We have high marginal taxes because the government has grown massively since post WW2. Look at all the bureaucracies the tax payers have to pay for. You do realize the government doesn't "create," wealth right? It just takes that wealth and distributes it elsewhere
2020-02-28 21:35
as well as better-allocating our budget each year think about what 10 - 15% of our defense budget each year could do for other services

alot of people want things handed to them, america was built on being a free country where you can create wealth for yourself, imo just cause someone is wealthy doesnt mean they have to give a large sum of their fortune to other people who dont feel like working, people are lazy and wont get up off their ass, Taxes for wealthy people and in general are already high. Health care definitely needs solutions, im just saying in general i dont agree with the democratic and socialist views on how to fix these issues.
2020-02-28 04:26

2020-02-28 04:44
america was built on being a free country where you can create wealth for yourself? It's one of the least socially mobile 1st-world countries on earth. If you're born poor you tend to stay poor, and since Reagan you're more likely to be even poorer than the household you grew up in.

2020-02-28 18:39
i think this point is overdone waaaaaaaaaay too much now..... let's face it.. every person on this planet wants to go to restaurants, stay at hotels, spend time with family, and genuinely enjoy their lives. we absolutely need the service and hotel industries, so who's going to work them? you can't expect a constant turnover of 16 - 18 year olds because "those jobs are for teenagers and the non-educated" but you also can't expect businesses to pay their employees more and not raise prices. that's an insane thought people legit do work their assess off in this country, some with multiple jobs, and they're still struggling. poverty is still a problem here... i don't think it's right to take from the rich and give to the needy, but i do think someone really absolutely needs to take a look at our annual budget and figure out how to make things more even. why the fuck is our defense budget higher next year even though Trump is exiting and/or putting pressure on international alliances/orgs/etc? why the fuck do we have so manny F22s and F35s? why the fuck are we developing these ridiculously insane ships, planes, and military equipment? come on... lol it's ridiculous

Once again, there is no amount of effort one can put into their job that is able to off set inflation created about currency system. Without tackling the federal reserve issue, WHICH no FUCKING president has done since JFK (and look what they did to him) it won't solve a quarter of the problems this country is going through. All this social political issues are just side shows to the real issue at hand. You ask about why this country is spending billions of dollars in defense, its because of the military industrial complex. War and defense spending generates revenue, its simply business.
2020-02-28 21:48
I’m not sure what you’re referring to about the Fed stuff, whether that’s rates or something else. But hey man, I served for 10 years and I saw the military industrial complex first hand. It’s incredibly insane and very frustrating.

And yet he is not proposing anything out of the ordinary that should make you alarmed. There is no radical change he wants to implement. This socialism thing is pretty wack considering what he wants to do is already done in other countries and has research behind it's succuss. "I don't believe government should take over the grocery store down the street or own the means of production, but I do believe that the middle class and the working families who produce the wealth of America deserve a decent standard of living and that their incomes should go up, not down."

Sooner or later Bernie's policies (free healthcare, free education, a more fair taxation system) will be realized. It's not a matter of if but when. I reckon the USA might as well start doing it while the economy (bar the impact this new virus has had on the stock market) is fine and they aren't tied up in massive warfare. Sooner or later they're gonna get all that. Why not just start it now and get it done so they can focus on other things ?

Young people don't have an understanding of hard work. Most of these idiots dont even work, and are still shackled with their parents, rent free. It's cool to be socialist/liberal when you don't have to experience the daily grind of making ends meet.

What? Dude I work a pretty lowpaying job and pay 43% in taxes with a smile like most people here. "Making ends meet" sounds fine until you realize your shitty salary isn't enough to pay for private health-insurance or send your kids to college. If you are in support of the working class, free healthcare and free education is a no-brainer.

What? Young people work way harder than boomers ever did. Boomers grew up with the greatest economy in American history and squandered it all away. Then they have the gall to say younger people don't work hard when housing prices are skyrocketing, college tuition is skyrocketing. My grandparents went to college for basically free, and bought a house in NYC for cheap as fuck. I don't have that privilege to do so in this economy. I guess I should just work harder lul

WTF are you talking about? There is more grants, loan forgiveness, defaults, and wellfare hand outs than anytime before in this country. The boomers hardly had the security net that this younger generation has now, not to mention education was cheaper back because colleges weren't the money hungry institutions that they've become now. Despite MASSIVE INFLATION due to the federal reserve which is the reason why cost of living has gone up, the younger generation hardly work anyways. I'm not saying everyone in our generation are lazy pieces of shits, but its very obvious the work ethics from the boomer's generation isn't even close to what we see now.
2020-02-28 21:29
Work ethics in the boomer generation lmao. When you could just walk into a store/factory and get a job on the spot. Try doing that now, when you need 20 years of experience for an entry level position and 100 other internships. Give me a fucking break, this generation works much harder for less pay and benefits.

This generation willingly takes out loans then complains that they can't pay it back because the dumb degree they got in Fashion Arts doesn't pay the bills. I already told you the reason why jobs are so hard to come by now. The inflation caused by the federal reserve, has made it harder for boomers to retire comfortably off their pensions. As a result, the boomer re-enters the job market and starts competing for jobs a young person wants. Most times the boomer gets it because they are way over qualified for a bagger position at a grocery store. I do agree with you that younger people have a harder time securing jobs that were once easily available. But that is only because inflation has rose and cost of living has gone up. Employers are finding it harder to employ the right candidate, and can be more selective in who they higher. The trickle down effect is massive. We were all once told, you need a degree in order to get a job. Now look, a college degree is about as common as a high school diploma.

Sorry it'll never happen. Corporate greed, and the fact that this country runs more as a fascist nation (Corporations and Government working together to give the illusion of freedom) works better than full blown socialism. It's too obvious at this point, this country is sinking faster than quick sand and nobody fucking cares. Only thing people care about is celebrity worship and what Selena Gomez eats for breakfast. Nonsensical/trivial shit.

How will Bernie ruin the country?
2020-02-28 18:29
Well, there's no way I could know for sure he would ruin it as a whole and I didn't say he would. He would ruin certain things that I think are important assuming he has the power to do so once in office. One of the biggest is he's for open borders, not a good thing, immigration is fine obv but that's just crazy. He said himself back in the day that open borders were a "Koch brothers policy" and he just backs down from that? He's for free college instead of cutting administration back. He's for forcing a 15$ an hour minimum wage. Essentially his entire plan is to increase taxes by a shitload in order to have an education and health care system similar to that of Scandinavian countries or Canada. I can trust Trump to have US first policies and I can't trust Bernie to do so. I'm sure he has good intentions and I respect some of the things he's done but I can't vote for him.

Democratic Socialism =/= Social Democracy =/= Socialism It's three completely different things, and if you can't comprehend the differences you shouldn't be talking on the subject in the first place. Period. This is a good place to start if you want to talk about politics in the future; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_sociali.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_democracy Socialism is the ideology, the two branches are the philosophies which is partly inspired by Marxism, while a Social Democracy believes in the free market of capitalism which is obviously inspired by liberalism. Bernie Sanders believes in the model of Social Democracy, which is also why he uses the Nordic model, and Denmark, as an example. We have social democracies. Until you understand the differences, keep quiet and finish your education.

He's also claimed that he's a socialist, which he isn't. Why? I don't know.. to piss off the critics? It doesn't really matter. He's said that the model that he adheres to is the Danish model, which happens to be the entire Nordic model.. and that is social democracy. It's also what he's adhered to the in his campaign. If he was a democratic socialist by it's philosophy, he would reject the capitalistic market altogether, which he doesn't. He believes in government invervention, not government ownership of the market.. which would also be impossible.

I mean if you say he's labeled himself something he's not then why do you jump on the conclusion he's something else he happen to label himself? if you agree that he labels himself things he isn't really, then surely you can't believe him suddently because he happen to use the Nordic argument to justify his socialist positions since he knows majority of voters wouldn't understand the difference anyways then he's somehow totally bought into the nordic system. It doesn't take a genius to see not only the stance of Bernie himself but the stance of his followers as well, who tear into capitalism more then fidel castro himself did.

ill be registering as a democrate this time around, and vote for Bernie in the primaries, just to screw up the the party. there is just no chance in hell that bafoon of a socialist can win against Trump. MAGA 2020
2020-02-28 23:10
It is either : Trump or Sanders either : Donald or Bernie. By using last name for one and first name for the other you induce a bias in your poll. Making it irrelevant.

Imagine being a SIMP and voting for Bernie.

all over this thread people keep saying: "Well as a democracy, America should do (x)." and "America is failing to be a democracy because of (x)." it never has been a democracy, and never will be. it's a constitutional republic.
2020-02-28 23:45
Trump. I'm not paying my way and another person's bills because they make bad choices.
2020-02-28 23:52
I campaigned for Trump and voted for him. Bernie can't possibly be worse than Trump. Trump has not fulfilled a single one of his promises and has, in fact, done the exact opposite of his promises in most cases. No wall. More immigrants than ever. More Moslems than ever. More wars and foreign entanglements than ever. On and on it goes. Trump has done NOTHING for the people who believed in him and voted for him.

Bernie is a cucklord who has never held a real job in his life. Been living off the taxpayers money. He crys about the rich yet owns four homes. He's part of the 1% and try's to act like he's poor. I really don't even think he wants to win. He's just getting rich from the donations. Trump has over 10k workers under him which means he created 10k jobs.
2020-02-29 01:14
Trump has got a real job?
