LOTR was way better but to be fair the hobbit was for kids and they tried to stretch it out as long as possible
is this b8?
LOTR = masterpiece
Hobbit = decent yet not masterpiece
the CGI orcs in Hobbit killed it for me. Way too much CGI in general actually.
The real life orc makeup/outfits in LOTR looks sooo much better...
Star Wars Original Trilogy
xd i just started to rewatch lort and hobbit ... so i will say 2 days later
The hobbits story in the books is better.
The movies are not.
Movies: Lotr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hobbit
Books: Lotr > Hobbit, but debatable
Lotr films were massively better. I enjoyed the hobbit but it was a bit too much cgi and a little drawn out
Hobbit contains too much cringe humor in my opinion. Only that master of laketown guy with his assistant alone made the movie crap.
The hobbit films were trash, insulting to the source material even in my opinion. The lotr movies are, especially in the extended versions, masterpieces.
The source material is of equal quality in my opinion, books of more importance than the bible. My favourite tho, and you may call me insane for that, is and will be the silmarillion.
hobbit director's cut was ok
lotr is much better though
I clearly prefer LOTR, but think Jackson handled both stories well.
I like that Jackson took liberties and added things to the Hobbit story.
The Hobbit book is small story followed by big battle.
The Hobbit films still has the small story, but adds threads, that leads more convincingly to the big battle, and also points more clearly in the direction of LOTR.
I think Jackson deliberately moved both books towards the middle, to a wider audience. Hobbit moved from small children to bigger children/more adult audience.
LOTR book is very adult, but Jackson makes it more suited to younger audience.
As a die hard fan of Tolkien I'd say without a doubt lotr. Hobbit was made like lotr but the book is 10 times smaller so they wanted to squeeze out of it as much as they could. I haven't even watched the last part of hobbit because of a huge disappointment. I hope Amazon won't screw up Silmarillion and since it's gonna be the most expensive series so far. Keep my fingers crossed for that.
hobbit is just bad, imho only first was somewhat decent
they tried to adopt lighthearted adventure book into an epic fantasy with big battles
perfect timing for this thread as im rewatching the lotr trilogy with my brother and father right now. it is truly a masterpiece
lotr 1 = Fnatic 2015
lotr 2 = Astralis 2018
lotr 3 = Sk 2017
The Hobbit 1 = avangar (berlin)
The Hobbit 2 = Ence (katowice)
The Hobbit 3 = Faze (2017)
Hobbit was written as a children's book. LOTR was more focused for teens and adults.
Honestly, pretty obvious which is better.
read the books
I'm actually reading lotr right now. Finished Hobbit last year. Took me forever. Lotr is taking even longer. As soon as I was done with book 2 I was like wtf, how is there still 600 more pages to the story when frodo and Sam are already in Mordor. Now I'm on book 3, and holy shit. I thought the fight against Shelob was legendary, well when Merry and Ewoyne fight the king Nazgul, holy shit that's something else. God tier book. I was actually thinking of posting the few pages on here for whoever wanted to read it, maybe I still will idk. But holy shit. What an amazing author.
all this books are for noob, homo, prodka , navi , astralis , vita ,g2 , mibr and other trash fans
Lord of the Rings for sure. Are you talking about the books right? LOTR is much more dense and deep. The Hobbit it's just Tolkien's kid story for his children. Even deeper than The Lord of the Rings is The Silmarillion, but IMO isnt good as LOTR.
