Hey, guys, I need help, I have my PC since 3 years now (february/march 2017) and since today in the afternoon, the sound crackles/sizzles every 3 seconds I'd say, but just for 0.1s and the PC freezes for 0.1s also, on my screen, nothing important but it's annoying, I tried to restart it 3 times, etc. Do you have any idea of what it can be ?

Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
specs, was it pre build ?
2020-02-28 21:16
i7-6700k (I prefer AMD but at the time it wasn't as good as it is now) 1060, 6Go 8Go RAM (only :/ but I don't wanna spend money to buy better until I have a new PC) not it's not pre build, and there was no problem like that since I have my PC

Can be something inside your cooler, try to take it out and clean it or probably your hard drive is dying
2020-02-28 21:19
everyone says it's my HDD, and why would it be my cooler ?
2020-02-28 21:19
Because those little cracks could happening if there is something inside your cooler, a small piece of plastic can make such noise as I said take it out and check it
2020-02-28 21:20
no, it's in my headset, I misspoke I guess, mb
2020-02-28 21:21
what ?? you just said the noise is coming from your pc
2020-02-28 21:22
no, I said "the sound crackles" I meant the sound in my headset, not inside my PC my bad

A cooler wouldn't make his PC freeze, it's not the cooler.
2020-02-28 21:31
and it's little crackles (not loud or smth), like a blue screen but less noisy and for 0.1s like I said
2020-02-28 21:17
Sounds like a dying harddrive
2020-02-28 21:17
fak could be :/ one of my 2 HDD is older (like 7 years if I'm right), so probably
2020-02-28 21:19
Try opening your hdd files and click some of those and if you hear something unusual it's the harddrive if not you can try crystaldiskinfo to check its status

Download Hard Disk Sentinel and check the condition and temperature If the condition is less than 100% it might mean something

lol weird
2020-02-28 21:21
your ram is dead, but you don't need no one ypu can fix the old one and it will work fine for another year.
2020-02-28 21:24
really ? why (do u have anything like an article to show me ? i don't rly understand) and if it's that, then how do i fix it ?
2020-02-28 21:26
you take it out put it in tinfoil and bake it in oven on 60 or 70 Celsius for 3 mins and then you turn it to 80 celsius for 1 min, now you let it cool down and you put it back on your pc on another pin if you can. P. S. not a lot of articles about this because most people can't recognize ram failure...
2020-02-28 21:30
lmao i won't try
2020-02-28 21:30
well i had similar issue exactly the same and it works, but i don't mind if your pc does not work, keep that crackling sound rather its pretty nice when you watch videos and your headphones makes those sound, or when games starts laging or freezing after crackling sounds.
2020-02-28 21:32
#30 i'll try if there's nothing else to do, with 1 at the beginning, if it works i'll do the same with the 2nd, if not, i'll buy new ram sticks
2020-02-28 21:34
just found an article but it says 150°C LUL anyway, i'll see if there are smth else to do
2020-02-28 21:32
Fahrenheit is not the same as celsius, if you do it with 150 celsius you will fry it.
2020-02-28 21:33
yeah, didn't read, just looked and yeah it's fahrenheit XD
2020-02-28 21:34
no either buy new ram or do this, or keep cracking sounds and freezing
2020-02-28 21:37
#34 i'll try with 1 at first
2020-02-28 21:38
ye but bare in mind you need to remove both out when you try it, because if you bake one and leave another in and if that one is corrupted you will still hear sound, you can also remove one and there another one to identify which stick is broken 1st
2020-02-28 21:41
yeah i know

It can be also related to software; Give it a try to soft reset your PC; Press Start key > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery; Under "Reset your PC" select "Get started"; Then select Restore with keeping your data.
2020-02-28 21:37
i already tried once to reset my pc but at 30% it fails and stops
2020-02-28 21:40
yup if you try to reset it and ram is broken this happens too.
2020-02-28 21:45
it was 3-6 months ago :/
2020-02-28 21:47
ram dies slowly, like a year or two, it could be damaged pins too, when you take it apart you ll see.
2020-02-28 21:51
ok, but why would it be damaged ? LUL
2020-02-28 22:03
pins damage sometimes because of impact or overheating, or other reasons
2020-02-28 22:11
ok ok like i said, it's not overheating
2020-02-28 22:12
just tried to remove both ram sticks one by one, they both work, like, the pc turns on, but the bug is still there
2020-02-29 01:56
HDD is dying, back up important data and throw it in trash. Buy SSD, HDD's are obsolete
2020-02-28 21:40
it's not a sound inside my pc, but in my headset
2020-02-28 21:41
Right-click on speakers and click properties, click the advanced tab, uncheck the box before allow applications to take exclusive control of this device. Then click apply > OK.
2020-02-28 21:50
thanks a lot how is that possible ? the pc was also freezing for 0.1s every 3/5s and now nothing ?? what the hell ? are u a wizard ? xD
2020-02-28 22:02
I'm tech support specialist for Amazon, and I pretty much know windows issues with my eyes closed. Audio drivers are the majority of reason why are games/programs stuttering, and after them, you have Gpu driver issues, overheating, etc etc
2020-02-28 22:03
my gpu drivers are ok and it's not overheating trust me XD
2020-02-28 22:04
actually it still crackles sometimes but less
2020-02-28 22:02
While still in the Advanced tab, select 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality). Then click apply > OK if it continues in a smaller manner
2020-02-28 22:04
You can also preventively try this: On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, then copy & paste powercfg.cpl into the box and press Enter. Click the High performance option > Change plan settings, change advanced power settings,double-click on processor power management > minimum processor state. Type 100 in Setting (%), then click apply > OK. Restart your PC afterwards and tell me if it's still present
2020-02-28 22:06
high performance button is already checked :') does it matter ?
2020-02-28 22:08
leave it be, just make sure minimum processor state is at 100%
2020-02-28 22:09
i think it doesn't crackle anymore, but i'm not sure, sometimes it goes but comes after
2020-02-28 22:17
nvm it came back
2020-02-28 22:18
now you need to uninstall current audio drivers, go to your motherboard site > choose your model and download audio drivers from the support section
2020-02-28 22:36
in "peripherals administrator" ??? dunno if it's the real name for it but who cars
2020-02-28 22:39
what's your motherboard model ?
2020-02-28 22:39
ASUS Z170
2020-02-28 22:41

2020-02-28 22:46
Just run setup.exe from the tar folder
2020-02-28 22:47
sorry lmao
2020-02-28 22:48
ty, i'll tell if it's better
2020-02-28 22:53
it was already at 100%
2020-02-28 22:09
It can be overheating as well. I remember my old laptop did something similar when I was trying to play some games out of its league.
2020-02-28 21:44
dead ram, nothing more nothing less
2020-02-28 21:46
i'm not even playing and it's not hot at all, max 60/70°C (when i play)
2020-02-28 21:48
When I had a laptop, I vacuumed the heatsink and it stopped overheating until about a year later
2020-02-28 21:49
I cleaned it every 2 months, but it was 6-7 years old, so it probably would've needed some deeper cleaning, which I couldn't have been bothered, so now I have a new one.
2020-02-28 23:13
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers. Also have you installed or updated any software just before the problem?
2020-02-28 22:09
i think so :')
2020-02-28 22:10

2020-02-28 22:10

2020-02-28 22:12

2020-03-05 15:11
