Not exactly a civillized idea of sorts, but it would be possible to cut down the amount of toilet paper used by just washing your ass. I mean, you could still stay alive that way (not sure if you'd want to live at that point, though, but hey)
2020-03-25 23:39
So even if you run out of food and water and other essentials, atleast you can wipe your ass clean
2020-03-25 23:36

youtube.com/watch?v=v-mWK_kcZMs And then use that to make homemade hand sanitizer? 200 IQ
2020-03-25 23:42
Some people are just really dumb man. Here in Sweden, paper is one of our biggest industries. All of our toilet paper is produced here, yet some retards still think it's going to run out.

Worst part is that I don't see this level of hoarding as when it comes to food, like are you telling me that toilet paper is more important than fucking food? As dire as it would be, you could always just wipe your ass with leaves or something, that's what people did for centuries.

Speaking of Sweden, Lombardy 2.0?

Your pubs are still open, during a pandemic.

Lombardy is a big tourist area, with about as many inhabitants as the entirety of Sweden. They have 420 people/km^2 while Sweden has 22,7 people/km^2. You can't compare the two.

Okay, so I'll rephrase the question: Stockholm, Bergamo v2?
2020-03-26 13:06
That's a much fairer comparison. But I still don't think so. We have a certain "culture" here, based on solidarity and individual responsibility. Hence, pretty much everyone stays at home as much as possible, even though the government hasn't strictly forbidden eating out/partying etc. On the other hand, people from Stockholm are usually not so bright, so they might fuck themselves up.

You say some people, but really it's either a huge amount of dumb people or a small amount of dumb and extremely delusional people.
2020-03-25 23:50
It is sort of instinctive. At times of crisis people feel the urge to do something so they feel they are in control, this makes some people horde what ever they imagine may come in short supply, which they then want to protect them self and their loved ones from. Our prime minister told people not to horde in the evening where school closures and work from advice was given, even before that press conference was completed some people had started hording. My guess is that has she not said anything, then fewer or maybe even no one would have horded. Ie. the very mentioning of hording, that can trigger hording which then can become a vicious circle since no shops have a 10x inventory of normal items so soon there will empty shelves and people then start hording other goods.

But who fucking hoards toilet paper over food? What kind of sense does that make? If I was in some sort of apocalypse where hoarding would be truly nessecary, the first thing I'd hoard is food (and in a pandemic, cleaning products as well), not toilet paper. Like what is this, cholera?
2020-03-25 23:51
I think someone from Australia needs to answer this one, as I understand the phenomenon started down under and as it has been reported globally this must have put it into the minds of horders everywhere. Apparently people in Denmark also went for bread, all sort of bread even burger buns, and meat and hand sanitizer. The next day the shops had everything except hand sanitizer.
2020-03-25 23:56
i read somewhere that the sales went up by 700% lol. thats insane
2020-03-26 13:05
If you don't use water and soap to wash your ass then you are fucking unhygienic and disgusting.
