I dont Care If you are religious as Long as there is a clear Cut between Religion and state, you are Not actively trying to bother other people with it and science > Religion.

No it's not "bad" it stems down to someone's own personal beliefs and what they think is right there is no one correct answer on what you should think or not someone people prefer science over religion, but again its all opinion

being rational is not an opinion believing in a god you never seen and have absolutely no proof exists is like me believing cloud9 is the best team in the world - it's fucking retarded. we need to stop respecting religion. you should get bullied for being stupid.

you can't bash someone for their own beliefs because they think a different way, act a different way, have different morals, etc. You can't compare something that is most likely real to something that is obviously not true (god being very likely to be real or some entity out there whereas c9 obv aren't best in the world) You can stop respecting religion, but I'm not going to and other people aren't going to either because that's what they believe in. Also if you think I'm stupid for being rational then i'm concerned for your own mental health also also why do u care what I think? I'm entitled to my opinion and I don't have to care if you like it or not

You have no proof that a god exists, in fact I would say you have proof a god doesn't exist. so how is that rational?

you're not reading what i'm saying "you can't bash someone for their own beliefs because they think a different way, act a different way, have different morals, etc." that's what im saying. people believe certain things, i have proof and FAITH that god exists, and if you don't believe then that's fine and i cant change ur opinion. just u shouldnt need to care about what I think in terms of being rational, I believe i am being rational because of my morals and beliefs going back to the quote I had.

>you can't bash someone for their own beliefs because they think a different way, act a different way, have different morals, etc my own belief is that religious people are irrational/dumb. I'm not trying to offend you or be edgy, it's literally just how I naturally feel. and my mom is super religious so I have a lot of knowledge about people like that I would say.
2020-03-27 04:06
Some of the brightest scientists that ever lived were religious. So naturally feeliing religious people are irrational/dumb when some of the smartest people that ever lived were religious and/or believed in god is being irrational and dumb. Not trying to offend anyone.

what are you talking about. I'm just countering his "some smart ppl were religious" with "most weren't even tho they were pushed to be" if you are going to use "some smart ppl were religious" when the majority aren't then that just shows some rational thinking right there.

don't act like what i typed is gibberish. you understand very well. and again, where did you get the information that the majority of the brightest people ever weren't religious? and how the fuck are you countering his argument by saying that most weren't? you said that all religious people are stupid earlier and now you say most smart people weren't religious. do you not realize you're contradicting yourself?

no I am not contradicting myself. just because someone has high IQ and natural talent for something doesn't mean they can't be stupid, at least in some aspects. and the average person believes in religion way more than the average scientist so his idea to bring in smart people into the debate was fucking stupid as it's proven that the smarter/better educated someone is the less they believe in god.

again, where did you get the stat that most bright scientists weren't religous? second, how the fuck can you be stupid in different aspects? give an example if you can. if that's possible, you fit the definition for sure. and last of all, "the average person and the average scientist". just lol. scientists aren't people? I'd ask you where it was proven that the smarter/more educated you get the less you believe in God, but then again you like dodging questions a lot and making up shit like this. religion has about as much proof as your statements lmaoo. I'm done with you, you're not as rational as you claim to be
2020-03-27 04:57
valorant is in right here. U should not mix social intelligence with high iq / talent for maths / physics etc . And ofcourse you can bash people for being religious. You say its their belief , who cares m8 , if your belief is for example that earth is flat , why cant i say that you are dumb , ofc i can . Whoever got the better arguments will win the debate so u can bash whoever u want .

"how the fuck can you be stupid in different aspects?" you dont believe a smart person can have 1 stupid belief, or do 1 stupid thing? Example: twitter.com/elonmusk/status/123602944904.. just because he said this very stupid thing, even at the time, doesn't mean he no longer can be smart... all other questions can be answered with google. And where was it proven that the more educated you get the less you believe in God like you said earlier? rational guy lol

Religion or belief practised in a reasonable manner are helpful and don't contradict to science. After you become less judgemntal about different people and more experienced in life you might realize it too. Untill then have fun making a fool of yourself.

first of all you probably can't even tell if they really were or not religious. if anyone asks me IRL I'm a christian because it's just the easier answer as society pushes you to being religious. and yes, anyone that believes in god is irrational, idc who it is.
2020-03-27 04:22
Try to say an honest prayer, just once. And be truly honest, truly thankful for everything you have in life and see the results. Doesn't have to be in a church, or before bed or whatever some people do. Say it wherever, whenever you want. I have multiple friends that say prayers work wonders (its made some of their wishes come true and made their life better). One close friend in particular, became depressed from a few events that happened and no joke, he was better from just having to spill all of his thoughts and everything in his mind in a prayer. I also have friends who say that's bullshit and doesn't work (complete waste of time). If you start believing in anything (doesn't have to be any god in particular) your life may actually change for the better. And if you get it, it's a feeling you can't explain to anyone but yourself

that's cool, I respect that. believing in something helps you achieve it because you will try harder and have confidence to achieve it, etc which goes a long way. it's not magic, it's not religion. that's why the word placebo exists

I’m not at all religious, but I don’t think it is reasonable by logic to write off god. You cannot prove or deny the existence of god; it comes down to a t=0 problem. I believe the universe was created by the Big Bang, some don’t. To write someone off because of their lack of proof for this is stupid because there is also a lack of proof for the contrary

I'm an atheist since birth but I think religion is a good thing for a society, humans have the tendency to addict to stuff and also ideas, having a pre existing ideology stops other shittier ideologies from flourishing. I don't think wars and so on happen because of religion but because humans are biologically territorial and stupid just like apes.

Religion is good I believe God exists because I think its more rational to say everything came from something rather than everything came from nothing. There has to be an original mover in the universe. Science is also super important, knowing and understanding this universe God made for us is amazing. Also separation of church and state is a good thing. If the population does not unanimously agree on a religion, it only creates tension and unneeded division.

My problem with religion is the idea that I don’t control my own fate. I can’t accept Christianity because it has hints of this idea. I can’t accept Judaism because of similar issues. I believe I can make myself whoever I want to be and that I am not controlled by an outide presence. That said, it’s hard to not see the value of religion. Concepts we simply can’t grasp such as what comes after death can be explained in religion. They also do provide a huge moral fabric for us to base societies off of, something that has been very useful in forming the west. You really have to accept the importance of religion despite agreeing with it or not.
2020-03-27 04:15
mens ur silly, Christianity has concept of free will, you choose ur own fate (in the long term, that means heaven or hell)
2020-03-27 23:17
The fact that calvinism and predetermination are things that can be true in Christianity means I cannot subscribe myself to the faith
2020-03-27 23:20

I think religion is good, but it shouldn't replace or go against science. For example, neither creationism nor big bang theory/evolution has enough proof to be 100% true. So it's dumb to criticize people for believing one versus the other. As long as you are open minded and don't try to control other people lives, it doesn't make a difference whether or not you're religious.

Whether you accept, being religious is still bad.
2020-03-27 04:42
why mens(((
2020-03-27 23:16
That is a very complicated matter. We cannot say religion, IN ITSELF, is a bad thing. During most of our history as 'civilized men', we have cultivated religion. It has its ups and downs. Nowadays I think religion should be taken merely as a kind of philosophy, on how to live your life, but it should not be taken so seriously, because fanatism is the real danger here. Faith is a powerful thing, it has been used, and it is still being used as a tool for powerful men to achieve their agendas. Having said that... in my personal opinion, religion is not necessary anymore in the western world. I live in Brazil and I find absolutely abject the relationship between members of our government and protestant pentecostal churches.

If you aren't a born again Christian then you probably have 0 clue what's going on and why, currently.
2020-03-27 05:07
It is. However going the other way requires a certain level of brain function. There's a very good reason why people who face a chance of sudden death everyday (military and other dangerous professions) are mostly religious: it gives them enough support to keep them from drowning in fear and doubt, it's also much easier to just follow religious practices than believe something that works just for yourself, and those people dont have time for that.
