The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!
Last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 180,663 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 3,577 deaths. Think about that!
America is the Greatest Country in the world. We have the best scientists, doctors, nurses and health care professionals. They are amazing people who do phenomenal things every day. Together we are putting into policy a plan to prevent, detect, treat and create a vaccine against CoronaVirus to save lives in America and the world. America will get it done!
The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant. Surgeon General, “The risk is low to the average American.”
Comparing flu with a sample of a year, with steady spreading to a new virus with only data for approximately a month or two, which hasn't peaked yet...
It fucking sucks that everything is shut down but I agree with it, for the short term at least.
There is no way around it. If things are not shut down the number of sick people will become so large it will on its own cause massive problems, like just a simple one - who will want to work in any job where they risk getting infected when hospitals are so press beyond limits they essentially can not treat new patients which instead are then just left to die.
Apart from the numbers have we not seen this post before?
Also about the "very much under control", there are still US states where there isn't lock down including Florida where things can get really bad. And importantly it is not like the US has reached the peak of new infected per day, not even NY is there yet and they are likely to be even more overwhelmed than they are and the same is gonna happen many places all over the US.
The WH is predicting 100-200 thousand fatalities and saying it will be a success, seeing what is going on I think "success" is unlikely. The still less that fully committed and professional WH and many red voters thinking it will be all good because Trump says so is making a mess of things. Like fx. why hasn't Trump used his power to ensure production of PPE, it is like he still doesn't get it, and the ventilators they are now getting made - many of them will come to late(as those in the UK btw).
On testing I think there is hope and not only for the US, this might help:
